Godzilla: Final Wars

I like this one...they didn't fuck around and give us a shit load of story about some swinging bachelor and the whiny/bossy girl that he'll end up with at the end like a lot of Zilla movies. We get right into Monster destroying stuff within the first 15 mins. And damn are there a lot monsters in this one. I'm use to like 4 at most. This one has like 15 in it.

Final Wars, huh?

Wait a minute. Isn't that the one with the mutant humans that physically look like normal humans, only they can run, jump, and fight as if they were in the Matrix?

Haha. Yup. Be warned, that review is riddled with spoilers.

Yeah that's the one. It doesn't take up too much of the script though. It's more so they can have a super powered martial arts fight at the end of the movie.

No, some movie that tried to be a romance movie with Matthew Modine in it as some dork.

Black Swan!  Good movie and it gets my penis stamp of approval.  Having recently watched Princess Tutu it was interesting to see something else vaguely inspired by Swan Lake.

That movie was so much better then the first one.

Godzilla vs. Megaguirus

This one got wrong everything that Final Wars got right. We get a whole story about a geeky guy building a black hole weapon to destroy Godzilla and his sloppy attempts to bed a army woman with a grudge against Godzilla. After the opening Godzilla attack we go almost 40 mins with only slight glimpses of giant monsters. The fight at the end is kinda short and that's mainly cause they wasted the rest of the movie setting it up. Could have tightened up the script and got at least another 20 mins of monsters smashing stuff out of this thing.

Your Highness.

I thought it would be a parody of adventure films, and it does satirize a lot of the elements found in that genre, but really it just is an adventure film. The gags were solid, there just needed to be more of them.

And despite the very title, it's not a stoner flick, and the weed jokes were kept to a bare minimum. The way they went about advertising was very misleading.

Also, the theater was far from full.

Tron Legacy. Fun movie. Probably won't watch it again though.

Mark Ruffalo is now the Hulk.  You can thank your shitty big budget Avengers movie [that will either put Whedon back on the map or finally kill his career] for that.

I just watched Tron Legacy on BluRay.  I saw it in the theater, wanted to see it again but never got around to it.  I think it's a lot more watchable in 2D--also enjoyed it a lot more the second time around.  Clu's motive actualy was clear this time since I didn't have the distraction of a crying baby and a family jabbering in Spanish the whole movie.

I agree, the 3D in Legacy was nothing but a distraction, with only one or two worthwhile moments.

I watched Daybreakers tonight. I remember thinking the ads looked like shit, and most critics said it was crap, but it really wasn't terrible. I didn't feel like I had squandered two hours when it was over, so that's a success in my book.

I saw Musa: The Warrior.  It was very nice to look at and seemed decent, but the length was its enemy, methinks.  After attentively watching for about 70 min, it felt like it was stalling for time instead of a flick like Red Cliff's International version which actually had shit happen in its 3+ hours.  So I got this "oh, I guess they all die honorably or some shit and nothing much really happens" vibe, fast-forwarded, and that's pretty much what happens.  The acting is great, the scenary and costumes are top-notch, but they needed to seriously edit this puppy or somethin'.  Also, the fight scenes are a little too frentic (in that we see a flash of feet, hands, and faces but not much actual action on screen).

Oh, and someone tell Zhang Ziyi to stop making the same damn, glazed-eyed, pouty-face.  She's a pretty girl but damn.  Every film she comes out in has her pulling the same damn face.

This movie took my expectations and ripped them in half, then sewed them together and somehow made them into something so beautiful I have no words for it.

You'll be disappointed.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Wal-Mart had a great deal on the previous 6 movies in order to hype the release of the first part of 7. So I swung in and picked those up.
