Gantz, I've had it downloaded on my computer since February. I don't know anything about the anime (I'm downloading it now) but I thought the movie was pretty damn good. I thought the characters could be a little stupid at times but given the situation they were in it's  little bit understandable.

Fast Five. My buddies wanted to watch that or Dylan Dog: Dead of the Night. i watched the two trailers for the second film there and decided if they were watching that, I simply was not going to go with them. It looks fucking terrible. MST3K riffing terrible. Really, it's that bad. You want to know how bad it is? The only theatres that were showing it yesterday were discount theatres and one regular theatre (which had one showing and no showings of it the rest of the week). The trailer has a shitty voice over that explains what's going on. And the most telling fact? Taye Diggs.

As irony would have it, I am now watching the movie version of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." If I remember right this movie was, and you won't hear me say this much, better then the book. It's like they took all the good clever stuff, and threw out all the crap.

Have you seen the BBC series? It's not bad, either.

It's on Netflix, that's where I watched it. They also have every season of Red Dwarf. I think I got to six and then I started having problems with it.

Yes they did, with Mila Kunis. She was definitely not the good one for the role. Oh and William Shatner who was as awesome as always

All of Red Dwarf almost makes it worth getting Netflix.

But you have to admit there was a season or two where it just fell apart for awhile. I still haven't gone back to get past those parts. The early seasons are pure gold.

Did I mention I saw Clash of the Titans?

Yea, I can't remember a lot of the movie but I thought it was kinda boring and sucked. Dialog was horrible.

And then I saw God on Trial, which is a PBS Masterpieces tv movie based on a legend that in Auschwitz some Jews put God on trial for breaking his covenant with them. A very good, interesting, and intellectual movie. It was a bit slow because, well, the entire movie was dialog and there was no action or anything, but still a good movie.

Now I have Dark City rented and ready to watch because I keep hearing very good things about it.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

I liked the novel it was based on better...back when it was called the Book of Job.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Well anything after Rimmer left, but before he came back isn't nearly as fun for me. He was by far my favorite character on that show. Man it's been a long time since I saw this show. I wish PBS would put it back on, or BBCA would throw it on.

Oh yeah...from Attack of the Giant Leeches. I own that episode, so I'll have to watch it in her honor.

If it was really in her honor, you'd put the DVD under some old mail and dig it out to watch a year later.

That's doable to.

Actually I don't. I've had plenty of chances to buy that movie, but haven't. Since it wasn't riffed by MST3K, it has never been a movie I've gone out of my way to get.  Course if I found it for 2-3 bucks someplace I'd grab it up.

Just saw Thor in english and it's...ok! I like what they did with Loki. He isn't evil, he's just misguided. He wants to prove he's just as deserving as Thor is. I think his story might end up being the most interesting thing in the Avengers

The incredible Hulk

loved it, it really sucks they're not keeping norton, but it's probably a money issue.  Now that I have a better understanding of the business I see why you can't just take a pay cut cause it can devalue you for future projects but whatever.   In the end it's the hulk we want to see not bruce banner.

I also watched most of sucker punch, couldn't finish it cause it was pretty trite and predictable.  HOWEVER! If I was on drugs I think I'd fuckin love it.  It's pretty much all visuals with only half the characters being developed, not a bad concept but could've been executed better.

I heard with Norton it wasn't a money thing, but a control thing. That Norton wanted a lot of say in the Avengers movie and they already had too many hands in the pot as is. Maybe he just dared to disagree with the great and all powerful Whedon, and thus had to go.

That sounds kind of crazy, I wonder if there is any truth to it.

As to the Norton Hulk thing, I seem to remember reading there was some sort of falling out there even before that movie was released.

Saw Thor. Liked it. Although I will say it easily had the lamest post-credits teaser sequence thus far. Maybe Cap's will pick up the slack.

Also, Big Man Japan. I felt cheated by the ending, even if I understand nothing in the movie was ever meant to be taken seriously.

I saw this sappy thing called "The Good Witch".  It actually wasn't terrible but I liked it better when the "magic" used was mere psychology instead of the implication at the end that the heroine was an actual witch.  I mean the main dude's all "how did that weird broom get thar, it was at ur house" and I wanted her to just shrug and say she has two of the same kind of broom.
