It's pretty awesome. It's on Netflix streaming as well.

My favorite mecha anime?

Mobile Police PatLabor. Always has been, always will be.

I just watched the Galaxy Express 999 and Adieu Galaxy Express 999 movies.  They're pretty great.  They make me want to watch more Leiji Matsumoto stuff.  Problem is there's a seemingly unending supply of such things, some of which is commercially available, some of which is not.  I'm not even sure where to start, and certainly don't have the time to consume all this media.

I haven't watched any of the 3-9 stuff since my early days of watching anime on the Action Channel.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Are you saying there is more to 999 than those daft punk music videos?  Like an actual anime movie or something?  Cause I'd watch that.

One day I'll sit down and watch all of Harlock...

one day.

Another gem from Wikipedia:

In the Latin American dub of the 1979 film version, Planet Prometheum's name is changed for Cybertron, the name of the home planet of the Transformers.

Re: Leiji Mastumoto, Merla liked Cosmo Warrior Zero.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmo_Warrior_Zero.
I think we've might've seen Queen Emeraldas but I don't remember what we thought of it.  QE not being written by Mastumoto but simply using the same character and universe.

That movie's great.  I hear of a Blu-Ray in the works which would be cooooool.

Holy fuck ... it's next week!

I guess I'll be watching that movie... one more time...

The canon of all that stuff is really insane.  Harlock is in everything, but the stories can<t really all exist in the same Universe as similar events will happen in different things in different ways, but there<s this loose association... it's kind of fucked up.  I think I might understand it a little better if I saw more of it... or maybe that would just hurt my brain more.

Did you read that Interstella 5555 user review? I know user reviews typically need to be taken with a grain of salt, but it's something to keep in mind.

Also, Amazon.com lists it at $32, while Amazon.ca lists it at $14. Strangeness.

Yeah I seem to remember the harlock characters being in cross genre shit.  Like he's not a space pirate in some stuff?

But I don't think that was all meant to be in one universe it's kind of like the extra stuff about TTGL that came out afterwards with them in a fantasy setting.

Interesting.  Though ever since hearing all the scathing review of the Ghost in the Shell Blu-Ray, that turned out looking great, I think some people are just stupid bitches who think something looks bad if it wasn't coloured digitally.  So it might suck, or this guy might be a bitch.

Weird.  Also it<s been out since last week.  Maybe we got a different version because we need it to be bilingual... you know for the menus because the movie has no dialogue...

I could be imagining the harlock thing, although I'm about 70% sure I'm not.

The TTGL shit is real for sure but it's not actual episodes it's just the original (I think) soundtrack with music videos of alternate universe shit happening.

Yeah what happened was I swore I was gonna find a torrent but kept remembering that I hadn't gotten one yet and then told myself I'd start one before I go to bed but didn't.  I finally just ended up watching it streaming and it was still good quality.

But now that I've seen it I'm gonna get the torrent cause I have these anime nerd girls I'm talking to.  I'll tell them all about this sweet movie they haven't seen and that they should watch it with me while drinking margaritas.

High School of the Dead is on Netflix, I'm watching it.

Yes I know it's the heavily edited version.

I meant to see it, forgot, then wanted to see it, forgot what it was called, then I came to this thread and IDE reminded me that I meant to see it and forgot.

HSOTD was awesome.  I saw the unedited version.

Blood-C is good but edited.  I might actually watch it again just for the gory deaths when it comes out on dvd.

Is Tailenders a sequel to Redline or a completely different movie? And can anyone point me to a decent torrent of both that arent .mkv files?

The only ones I've run across have been mkv, but you can convert it pretty easily and hard code the subtitles (what I did to get it on my PS3) with xvid4psp.

Or you can wait for the bluray on November 14th.

Oh, and to my knowledge Tailenders has nothing to do with Redline.

The more I watch the more I wonder if it is actually edited, as their is still quite a bit of gratuitous fanservice ... but there have been plenty of points where I felt like something more was supposed to be show that wasn't, so probably.

Oh wait you mean like shit was completely edited out, not censored.

Hmmm then I don't know maybe I saw the edited version too, I'm not sure.

I just mean there were no big bars of light like on Blood-C and Manyuu.

I started watching Full Metal Panic. I guess it's alright so far.

I really came her to mention that I fucking hate previews in anime. They are always obnoxious. Why the fuck does that need to be on a DVD anyway? What the fuck?

There are some exceptions where it is actually content, but typically it just gets on my fucking nerves.

I tend to like previews but what I really hate are the forced previews where you can't skip them.  It's really infuriating when it's on something I've bought.  2nd place is previews for other shit on your dvd as an EXTRA and there are little or no other extras (that might actually, you know, be legitimate extras).
