I watched some of Murder Princess and Sands of Destruction. Both were okay but nothing I think I need to see the entire series of. I basically watched the first episodes and then fast-forwarded to the end. Didn't feel like I really missed anything.

I watch ep 1 and 2 maybe 3 and then bail on the series.

I'm finding it interesting how this company isn't producing enough tiger and bunny dvds because they were banking on sacred 7 being their premiere anime this season but tiger and bunny is dominating that shit with the fans.

Easily because the rest of it is filler-quality. I did the same thing w/ Princess Tutu today except I also jumped into one in the middle of the series. It almost hooked me, too, but not quite.

Stating the obvious here given its episode count here One Piece has a freakin' shit load of filler. I skip episodes and it's like maybe one thing happened that I miss that gets summarized in the beginning of the next one. I really like some of these characters and this concept but the damn thing's bloated.

I decided a long time ago not to embroil myself in another series with episode counts in the triple digits. When I realized I'd be over the hill before getting done with Bleach, I quit before I got started good. Which was a good idea, anyway, as I hear my younger cousins constantly bitching about how long and drawn out it is. One Piece is another like that, except it's worse due to the bald-faced lie that is the title: it's around a hundred and fifty pieces at this point.

The 50 some-odd episode series are my limit, and only when they're as good as FMA Brotherhood.

It's the dub, I don't know if you were watching subbed or dubbed, the dub is very well acted.

This is some deep shit that a 13 yr old would never comprehend unless they had a working knowledge of japan's history. The characters are rich and defined. The ideology is real.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I can't say I've really searched for one but I have been skipping around the series. I just go to the wiki and find out when certain characters or events get introduced and try to catch those episodes.

I know how pretentious it is to say this, but the One Piece manga really is a lot better than the anime. You could blast through several hundred chapters in no time, and I guarantee you'll enjoy it a lot more.

Have you watched any of the movies? The sixth is the best by far, with plenty of fun action sequences and gorgeous animation that's wildly different from the TV series.

All this One Piece talk reminded me of this GIF I made from the fourth movie? The fifth, maybe? Anyway, the movie itself wasn't very good, but the outfit Nami wears in it is blatantly "inspired" by Lara Croft, which I remember thinking was pretty cool at the time.

Actually, I quit reading One Piece many months ago because the current arc was not appealing to me in the least. Last night I got caught up out of morbid curiosity, but alas, my first impression was the correct one. The current arc is dumb as hell.

Also, the main cast has grown too large and as a result none of the characters are getting enough play.

And I hate Robin's redesign.
