I'm still watching some Blue Exorcist, and I'm starting to really like this series, and hoping to GOD it doesn't become like Naureach Piece Z (or is that Bleaurto Piece Z) and get to 500 episodes of filler.

Weaboo I know keep telling me to watch Usagi Drop, some watercolored anime about an older single guy who adopts an orphaned younger relative, but it seems boring and maybe a bit creepy.

Kamisama Dolls! (God Dolls) is this series that looks kinda interesting about teens who can control "Gods" that look like large robots, and yet no one notices they're robots and call them gods and spirits and shit. Despite that it's a pretty good looking robot-fighting-robot series.

Mawaru Penguindrum looks pretty good as well from what I've seen. Girl dying from "anime wasting away disease" gets saved by a posessed alien penguin hat that turns her into the queen of the penguins, who wants to rule the world or something with her derpy army of waddling penguins.

Kami-sama no Memo-chou - An interesting series about NEET detectives who solve people's problems.

The rest of the series out right now seem to be harem or loli anime, including a loli basketball anime of sorts.

The one anime I've been really disappointed with is Mayo Chiki, a harem anime about a butler that's actually a chick. The male character discovers the butler's secret and has to keep it or the bulter's sadistic and manipulative rich bitch will destroy him.

The relationship between the butler chick and the main male character is so adorable, but can't save this series. The butler's employer is an evil bitch who's annoying and high on her powet and riches and likes to fuck with other people's lives for fun. Another bitch, all in pink shows up and acts like an attention whore and always wants her way, and between the two of them there would be domestic assault if I had my way.

Between them and the fact the main character is pussy whipped and gets his ass whooped by every female in the series I can't enjoy it. It just goes bad way too fast.

Been watching Headmasters again.

Man, it's a miracle Transformers went on another two seasons in Japan. But I hope they release Masterforce in the US...that was a fun show. I still haven't picked up Victory again, as I got tired of it after eight episodes.

I rewatched the Vision of Escaflowne. Or at least most of it. Some of that series moves so slow at times. I wonder what it would've been like if it had been a longer series. Probably very painful. Once we get to Isaac Fig Newton and his Fateback-Machine, it kinda starts to slip imo. Poor Hitomi. The messages being thrown at her were some real confusion shit. Found some of it dubbed since I only own a sub. Why do Dilandau and his Pretty Boy Brigade all sound 8 years old? And the Foxkids edit... good god.

Not really. That Heero/Hiro/Hero jerk really chaffed my nerves and some of the others weren't any better. The only tolerable one was the Scott McNeil kid with the braid. Duo... Maxell? Meh. But yeah, there were a lot of characters I wanted to smack around and the plot quickly lost me.

I liked Utena but never got to see anything past the first season other than that bleh movie.

I would say they can't when they have pilots, then they are extensions of the pilot. Sentient robots (ala Transformers) can be...but I would say Gundams can't.

Yeah. Character is why I liked Beast Wars even though the were robots. If they're just mechs with pilots or something... Well, I guess that would make it a mech and not a robot. I've never been hugely into the giant robot thing. That's just a better way to put it, I suppose. Something about a bunch of mechs/robots or whatever fighting doesn't grab me usually.

Macross is still my favorite non-sentient giant robot series. I never could get into Gundam.

I liked Escaflowne enough to buy the Perfect Collection. The series is not edited in the DVD, and I still find the Ocean Group English version to be quite good.

Yeah, I saw a dub ep someone had uploaded and I saw a Fox Kids edit up on YouTube too see how badly mangled it was when it was on TV. The dub is good (aside from my gripe about Dilandau) and I love hearing our old pal BD as some non-raspy non-nutjob for once.
