No, I totally remember that was a movie. There's a scene where Martin Lawrence mistakes Tim Robbins for a serial killer, and he screams, "Please don't kill me, freaky Jason!" at him and it's fucking hilarious. Or it was, I haven't actually seen it in forever. Couldn't tell you anything else about the movie, though.

I read a lot of Anne Rice's books. I've read Interview, Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned, Tale of the Body Thief, Menoch the devil, Black Wood Farm (well I started it, didn't finish it.) Prince Lestat, and Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis (Which I gave up on about 1/3 of the way through).

I love Interview. It's one of my favorite books, but everything after that is of lesser quality. It was like Harper Lee wrote To Kill A Mockingbird and then after that decided to focus on novelizations of the Fast and the Furious movies.

So stick with the first book and don't bother with the rest?  Got it.

I think that's probably the safest approach to the subject. Yes.

I just put a hold on it and realized something: I've always called it 'Interview with A Vampire" but it's "Interview with THE Vampire." I asked Merla how she remembers it and she's the same. Also, she's never seen the movie. All these years I thought she had.

Mandela effect. You are just from the other universe.

And it's a good movie. One the best book to movie adaptations out there.

I mentioned re-watching Interview in the movie thread so Merla saw a tiny bit of it. She wasn't really interested tho', mainly because she, like me, also doesn't watch a whole lot of movies anymore.

As for the topic of deaths, uh... my computer's battery, I guess. Although I guess that's more "on life support" at this point.

Merla told me Angela Lansbury and Robbie Coltrane died. Thanks, Google. You wanna tell me about the mook wearing twenty-plus contact lenses on one eye as "news" but couldn't be arsed to tell me Mrs. Potts and Hagrid carked it. Meh.  ::)

Gonna be honest: I saw something about her dying but completely forgot who she was. Yes, I be a heathen.

She was the coal miner's daughter!

Honestly outside of that and knowing she was a country singer I don't know anything about her.

Yeah, it took me a while after I saw her death in the news to go "oh, yeah, the country singer lady."

Loretta Lynn was certainly a titan of country music, but the modern music field in general owes her a lot for proving that women were just as valid artists as men and breaking down a lot of barriers by virtue of that. And I always appreciated the fact that, even though she was rich and owned a mansion, she cut her own grass until she had her stroke several years ago.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Funny thing is I knew how significant she was. But my mind overwrote her in my memory or something. This is what I get for not mentally defragging.

One of the popes is dead...the older one, I'd imagine.

I was telling Merla this morning we're gonna get at least one high-profile death to take us out of 2022 with a bang. Between Wawa and Former Pope, I gotta give this one to Wawa.

When I heard about this, I was all "oh no lance henrikson" and then I realized I was thinking of the wrong one. I don't know if I've seen this man in anything besides two minutes of that awful RE series. He was apparently in Lost tho'. I don't remember him in it.

He did a fair amount of voice stuff, too. The dude had a very singular set of pipes.

Tina Turner. And I find it weird that Wikipedia is all "Swiss singer" Tina Turner.  I'm trying to figure out why I find it weird.  I think it's because if you're known and famous for being from somewhere, it's odd that your page you have only because you're famous notes so prominently something you were not famous for.  I get she became a Swiss citizen but I dunno.  If I move to Wales tomorrow and then become famous for peanut juggling, am I really a Welsh peanut-juggler?  Of if I become famous tomorrow for peanut-juggling and then move to Wales thirty years later when I'm not really known for peanut-juggling as much, am I still a famous Welsh peanut-juggler?  Meh. Semantics.

I can't read/hear the word Swiss and not think of this ad:

I can't remember when it used to air, but it was constant. It's just burnt into my psyche.

Was it a Canadian ad or do I just not remember it? Also, I find Toblerone's a pain to eat. I have no idea why people like them.

Yup, clipped it from her SNL appearance where she tore up the picture of the Pope.
