The demo for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is out. It's funner than the first. I hate multiplayer though...everybody beats my ass before I can learn the ropes.

Then hone your skills in the Beta!  I'm usually pretty bad at shooters but I'm pretty competant at War for Cybertron.  Looking forward to trying out the demo.  You get it on the 360 Scott?  Do I have you in my friend's list?

I'm on POS3. I have to wonder if my 1Mbps-at-best connection may be a problem.

Metroid...trying to actually beat this game for the first time, but I'm having trouble with the 2nd boss (There are only three bosses, and it depends on what order you take them on which one is the 2nd. I'm having trouble with the one that shoots needles out of his gut.) Tried the freeze ray on him, but I still get my ass handed to me because I can't get low enough to freeze the bottom needle. Ugh...

Still just really playing Halo 4 but I got FTL and Alpha Centauri from GOG. FTL doesn't run that well, sadly. I haven't tried Alpha Centauri yet.

Also, I played board games today. Well, card games. DC DBG and Penny Arcade Rumble in R'yleh DBG. Both very fun.

Street Fighter vs. Mega Man. They definitely got the difficulty down pat, but damn....

I started playing Skyward Sword a month ago and I would say this is one of the best of the 3D Zelda games, up there with Ocarina of Time and maybe even better than Twilight Princess.

And my god... it actually doesn't have Zelda or Ganon this time! And there's voice acting, my god!!!

Okay, so Zelda does show up in this one (of course), and I'd say she's the sexiest of all the Zeldas. Ganon isn't in this one (yet), but may pop up near the end as always. Instead, the villain is this skinny emo twink that looks like he escaped from a Kingdom Hearts game.

And there's no voice acting. Come on, I can understand this being true in older games where sound files take up valuable space and processor powet, but not with the Wii. Not having voice actors makes the game seem a bit outdated. Don't give a shit what tradition says, and I think the Japanese worry too much about tradition anyway.

Also, this Christmas break I'll be playing the second installment of the Marathon FPS series, since I played the first one last Christmas break.

Marathon is a FPS trilogy made by Bungie in the 90s before they made Halo, and it's almost as good as Halo. The game has things unheard of in FPS games back then, like an elaborate storyline, and in the second and third games, multiple paths and even, for the third one, multiple endings.

The game code was released in the early 2000s and has been updated with new graphics, and is free to download for any system, just google "Marathon Game".
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

I've been meaning to go through Marathon again. I started to play through the first one and ended up getting lost in the terminals story and not actually caring about the gameplay.

His name is Kraid.  A good approach is to just bomb the hell out of him.  If you have enough energy tanks you'll get him.  Then you grab the energy tank on the right in the walls of the lava pool to fill up and leave.  Shooting his missiles in conjunction with this is a fine strategy to help keep your damage down but it's unecessary.

I always thought of Kraid as the first boss and Ridley as the second.  The damage scales differently in different zones and you take more in Ridley's area which tells me the game feels this way too.

Rather than the original, I'd just fire up Zero Mission.

LOVE that game. Moreso than Asylum, which was also good.

The new Tomb Raider is good, even if it is Uncharted starring Lara Croft. I played the stew out of it the first two weeks it was out, but I got busy with work and left the southeast in the middle of April and haven't picked it back up. It's hard when you're 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through, you put it down, and then you don't want to have to learn it again.

Haha, I'm the exact same way. I'll get started on a game and then I get busy or distracted by something else. Then months later when I have time to play a game again I don't really want to pick it up again, cause I already got too far to start over again but completely forgot the controls and objectives to continue where I left off.

Yup. Most modern games are just too involved in that regard. That shit happens to me all the time. The way they drip feed you the fundamentals over the course of multiple hours is fine if you're able to play from start to finish in a matter of weeks, but that's just not possible for everyone. Games should offer some sort of condensed refresher for people who stopped playing halfway through and want to pick up where they left off.

It actually happened to me on Arkham Asylum. I got about three quarters of the way through, got hung up on RL stuff, and two months later I just said, fuck it, I got Arkham City now.

I typically don't replay games, unless I really enjoy them. Same goes for movies and books. Once is usually plenty.

Rented Bioshock Infinite from Rebox (decent service, I'd say).

I think it's better than the first one in a lot of ways. I'll probably end up buying it.

And I started Blood Dragon. OMFG YES

As much as I love Mario games I've never played SM64 or SM64 DS all the way through. I'll probably pick it again after Nintendo puts out the HD remake.
