What is that from? Shia is the greatest!

I really enjoy the films, though I'm not as big of a fan of the shows/toys as some of you.  My 2 biggest issues with the franchise are the Autobots being ... well kind of evil, and the whole Skids/Mudflap thing.  Other things like too many silly jokes or really bad plot holes in TF2 I can get past because the other stuff is cool.

I've only walked out on one movie in my lifetime (Matrix 3), but had it not been Transformers, I'd have walked out on TF2.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

It's like aDam is posting from an alternate universe where Shia is awesome and De Niro is ballsack...

That picture is a still from Indiana Jones 5 where it's revealed that I'm actually Indy's son and he's the illegitimate child of an epileptic chimp.

I'll never understand the Shia LeBeouf hate. I always thought the guy was a pretty good actor.

adam just has the gay hots for Shia.

Then the scene from the ads where they're running through the forest being shot at in slow motion shows up and I'm suddenly awake for the rest of the movie, which is mostly entertaining from that point onward.

Two hours was too much.
That slow motion scene had to be the worst part of the movie. To actually DRAG a bullet-time scene on for 10 fucking minutes. 5 minutes in: "is the bullet-time over? No?" 10 minutes in: "Can I kill myself now?"

The movie was somewhat entertaining. But then you had the bullet time shit. And times where "Iron Man" would seemingly predict the future (like that a guy was going to pull a gun on him) but was just really using his intellect to make really good guesses. Or the times where they'd try to show how he was figuring things out by showing his thought process with the camera, but unless you were REALLY paying attention you'd just get dizzy and confused.

The original Holmes was supposed to be a guy who deducts stuff and at the end suddenly reveals the real criminal, but this series seems to have dumbed down Holmes into a really intelligent action hero for typical retarded American audiences that NEED everything dumbed down.

The third had promise, but damn if they didn't dash that to hell half-way through...and it was largely through the demolition of Optimus Prime's character that it was accomplished.
They dashed it to hell by having it be human-centric again... and having the autobots disappear for most of the chicago part, only to pop up briefly out of nowhere for a 5 second cameo.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

I love Transformers, but I never got all the love for the Autobots. I always found them a bunch of boring generic characters and back in the original cartoon there were new ones popping up every week. I had trouble keeping them apart.
I was always a Decepticon kid. The thing I missed the most in the movies was the classic Megatron/Starscream dynamic.

That said I knew I was going to see Michael Bay movies. So I went in expecting tons of explosions and cool specials effects and little to no plot.
So I got my money's worth

It is kinda odd. Back in the day I always liked the bad guys more. I liked Skeletor better then He-Man...like Cobra better then the Joes, but when it came to Transformers I was always an Autobot guy. I loved the Autobots and still do.

Did that have anything to do with Starscream being a whiny bitch?

Starscream was fun, he declared himself leader of the Decepticons every time Megatron stubbed his toe.
And Soundwave was just badass

The only Autobots I ever cared for were the Dinobots

I liked John Carter. It wasn't boring or obnoxious.

And that's all I've ever asked of my entertainment.

I enjoyed John Carter quite a bit.  As a fan of the book I was pretty annoyed at the changes and I can't really tell how much sense the whole thing would make to someone not familiar with the source material.

Here's my full review:

National Lampoon's Vacation.

I've watched this movie countless times, but it's always been on TV (or the VHS copy I recorded from TV).  I grabbed it from a $5 bin at Walmart the other day and was mildly surprised to find a bunch of sex and drug humor that was cut.

The Big Year

Owen Wilson. Jack Black. Steve Martin. You would think this is a comedy. Hell, it's classified as a comedy. But this is incorrect.

The Big Year is a drama with a few jokes and some goofy bits. I challenge anyone to watch this movie and laugh. It can't be done. You see, this movie isn't funny, and in some ways it's even a little depressing.

I wish I hadn't watched it.

21 Jump Street. I laughed. A lot. And when I wasn't laughing, I was grinning. This movie is just plain fun.

The Hunger Games. I honestly didn't care for it. The movie completely failed to make me empathize with any of the characters. It's as if the the director said, "Shit, everyone coming to see this thing is already aware of all the personalities and motivations, why bother wasting any screen time on that stuff?" I would hesitate to call it outright boring, but it was definitely dull.

Beauty and the Beast.

It was on TV and I hadn't seen it in a long time. It really is the ultimate "I can change him" story.

You know what constantly looks dull?  The look on Jennifer Lawrence's face.  Seriously.  As far the promotional material or preview footage goes, this chick doesn't ever look angry, sad, motivated, or even hungry.  She's always got this weird, fish-lipped "I'm lost at teh Wal-mart" or "I hope I can blame that fart on the the dog" look on her face.

Yeah, she was pretty bland. Admittedly, part of that is just the character being one of those no-nonsense, serious business types, but it doesn't make for a very compelling on-screen persona.

Wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, but there are just too many superhero movies coming out these days.

Was Captain America good? The first half, maybe.

And I can't help but notice how fucking goofy Cap looks standing next to everyone else in those Avengers trailers. His helmet is especially awful.

If you're going to remove Hawkeye's mask and Thor's helmet, you might as well let Cap keep his off as well. It looks like shitty cosplay.
