The main reason I'm so opposed to changes to movies is what George Lucas did to St*r WarzzZZ, so you won't be convincing me with a quote from the very worst of his movies, uttered by a bitch coward of a character who tucks tail when things aren't going his way.

I appreciate that the original is still available, as the alternative is simply absurd, but still I would much rather just see the original film in theatres than this stupid 3D rerelease, and if audiences had better taste, doing so would be more viable.

I think they actually are showing the classic non 3D version along side it.  Does this appease you?

Yeah, but what is available is a shit transfer from the 1994 Laserdisc. They never bothered to clean it up, since I'm sure no one in their right mind would want to watch the original instead of his amazing Special Editions...or at least that's what he thinks. GL can fuck those films up all he wants as far as I'm concerned, I just wish he'd release the original unchanged version on the same format at the same time. The fact that he refuses to do that is where my problem lies. Course I'm sure it would hurt his ego if the originals outsold his edits.

I love that they're doing this, but wish it were so in my local theatre.

Well yeah, but that's really his problem.  Could have cleaned them all up in the first place.  I agree, release both and there's really no harm no foul.  No one bitches about ET, though it's a shit movie.

Probably going to see Underworld tonight.  I love those movies.

Watched Carrie last weekend. Didn't pay much attention to it until the spot where she flips out and starts killing everyone. Sadly, she ends up killing even the people who actually cared about her. Whoops.

When I was sick I caught the end of Buckaroo Banzai. Haven't seen that since I was a kid. I was amazed at how many big name actors were in this. Peter Weller as Buckaroo (he's best known as Robocop). Jeff Goldbloom. John Lithgow as the villian. Christopher Lloyd. I think I had more fun identifying actors than enjoying the shitty special effects and crappy plot.

Before that I watched Christmas Vacation, or "I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?"
I remember this being funnier than it was. Apparently 80's humor is just too old-fashioned because I didn't laugh much in this movie. About the time I actually did laugh was when the cat got fried. Laughing at a cat being fried? What kind of sick fuck am I? I also laughed when Clark did his rant above, especially when he said "Hallelujah holy shit!"

Before that I watched Bunraku. Great visuals, generic plot, boring characters. Gackt over-emoted like an emo douche. Unlike Buckaroo Banzai I spent most of this movie mistaking actors for other actors. I thought Ron Perlman's character looked like Will Ferell. The bartender reminded me too much of Jason Statham. And the main character reminded me too much of Brad Pitt with a pedo 'stache. Oh, and the second in command reminded me too much of Alex from Clockwork Orange.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

Actually, I meant to say that Ron Perlman's character looked like Will Ferrell cosplaying Rob Zombie. But I can't edit that.

It's okay, everyone who saw that was wondering what the fuck they did to Ron Perlman.

Finally got to see Underworld.  I enjoyed it thoroughly, though I had some issues.  Here are my full thoughts...

I watched Redline again the other night. I liked it a lot more the second time.

The Grey: Another awesome action flick under Liam Neeson's belt.

Haywire: The thing that really stood out to me in this were the fight scenes. None of that shaky camera bullshit, just solid angles where you can see exactly what's going on. There was no music during any of these scenes, just ambient noise, and the impact sound effects of fists pummeling flesh and bodies thumping into walls weren't exaggerated. There was a realness to it all despite the obvious choreography.

I totally posted this in the wrong thread the other night. Luckily, I'm able to modify and/or remove my posts.

God bless America.

I finally saw Kung-Fu Panda 2.  That was kinda dark for a kid's movie.  Like w/ the panda genocide and dat rhino being shot in the face and dyyyyyying.  I also thought the music seemed a bit off.  But, whatever, it was mostly good.  Van Damme needs to voice more shit.

I saw Kung-Fu Panda 2 in the theatre, and it was twice as entertaining as it should have been, courtesy of this dad two rows back who reacted verbally to practically everything that was happening on-screen.

"Oh no! What now?"

"Ah! Here he comes!"

"Ohoho noooooo!"

And his kids were still young enough to laugh about it instead of just feeling awkward and embarrassed.

I'm skeptical.

I saw that new Impossible Mission thing on Thursday. It was actually pretty great. I think I'm ready to forgive Tom Cruise for being a fucking weirdo.

I'm more interested in that new Harry Potter movie. Supposedly it takes place in an alternate timeline where Harry has no magical powers, and he investigates ghost sightings. Sounds pretty sweet.

Apollo 18.

This is one of those Blair Witch found footage movies, but at least this time it makes sense why everything was filmed. Astronauts have cameras everywhere. On the ship...outside the ship...on the rover...on their space suits...so it makes sense why they filmed everything. Unlike say Cloverfield where everyone is dying around you, but by God don't you dare put that camera down.

On thing I don't understand however...

spoilers ahead.....

is that everyone dies in this one. Even then guy in the orbiter dies. So how the fuck did the footage get back to earth to found and released? I mean yeah some of it was feeds to Houston, but a lot of it was shot from the hand held camera that take normal film. That film would have had to have made it's way back to earth to be used in the making of the movie...but it all got blown up in the end of the movie and probably orbited around the moon for awhile before falling back down. And you never really get to see the aliens either. You see alien rock babies, but never the full grown big ones that are always doing stuff like attacking the lander or turning over the rover. You just see the aftermath of those attacks.

I saw that Potter movie tonight. It's called Lady in Red and Chris de Burgh provides the theme song. I wish they had left the ending ambiguous. As it is... ugh. But not bad overall.

Then I saw Chronicle. It was... pretty damn good. I felt like I was gonna have an anxiety attack for about the last half hour of the movie, but I didn't want to leave the theater and miss the ending. Super intense.

Did I read shit right and in The Woman in Black, Kipps already has a wife and son and the wife died in childbirth?  I wonder why they did that.  MEH.  That kinda fucks up the ending.  :-\

I don't know. It happens to me in some movies. I just get nervous as hell about what's happening on screen. The fact I had overdosed on Fruitopia didn't help matters either.

Interview With The Vampire.

Finished the books and decided to watch the movie. Still one of the best book to movie adaptions ever made. Too bad it's sequel Queen of the Damned didn't fair as well...course that book wasn't as good either.

I tried watching it the other day but couldn't sit through it for some reason.  I think I've let Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise color my enjoyment.  Maybe I'll try again if it's still on stream.

See I was lucky in that I first saw this movie in the middle to late 90's. So I just have found memories of the movie and that other stuff doesn't affect me to much. Unlike say Angelina Jolie...which has ruined some movies for me just cause she is in them.

It does seem that Vampires have super Gaydar since it seems every single one of the guys is either gay or bi...but somehow none of the chicks are.
