Well, I didn't see Interview that far off from when it first came out.  Within the first year it was first available on video is probably when I saw it and I have good memories off it.  And I don't hate Brad Pitt and can still watch stuff with Tom Cruise w/o factoring in the crazy.  But for some reason it was just meh.  Yeah, I don't like the whole vampire = homo thing either.  In fact, I wish they wouldn't sexualize it so much.  Like vampire = wants to do everybody.  Can we have vampires with other focuses besides screwing their lunch.

It does seem that Vampires have super Gaydar since it seems every single one of the guys is either gay or bi...but somehow none of the chicks are.

"We Are The Night" has a lesbo-pire story.

Oh the Lesbian vampire goes all the way back to the novella Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu published 1872...who beat Bram Stroker to the game by about 25 years. But in Anne Rice's world it just seems all guy vampires are gay or bi...and the chicks are either straight or have no sexual inclination at all. It seems to go against the laws of probability.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Okay, this movie is crap, but! If you're a fan of Cage's unique weirdness, he has some truly batshit insane line deliveries here. It's concentrated Cage all the way. Also, the scenes where Ghost Rider tears shit up are all really great. He comes across as a truly terrifying, speechless monster in the first half, but then they have to go and ruin that by giving him goofy one-liners later on.

And the 3D was worthless. Why was it even in 3D? I just don't know.

It's definitely better than the first Ghost Rider, but that doesn't necessarily make it a good movie, you know what I'm saying.

Yeah. I actually didn't think that the First Ghost Rider was that bad...just not as good as it could have been.

Nope. The name "Mephisto" isn't even mentioned, and I honestly can't remember anyone saying "Devil" or "Satan" at any point in the film, but someone must have. He's just an old man in a suit. Blackheart isn't in it at all.

Blackout is, but they've altered his origin and power set significantly. His appearance is roughly the same.

Yes.  The director of We Are The Night acknowledged his film as his take on Carmilla.

No good, I just start screaming at the screen aloud about why the fuck that hack has a career.  Then I remember he's a Coppola but he didn't want to be a Coppola or whatever which is bullshit because he's a fuckin' Coppola.

It is a lot better then the crap that Tim Burton puts out these days. And it was also before him and Johnny Depp were joined at the hip.

You know what I think?

Disney should have Tim Burton direct the next Pirates movie.

That would be fucking poetic as hell.

And Helena Bonham Carter can play either a minor villain, or a reluctant sidekick to Jack Sparrow.

Art!

I finally watched Sherlock 2 tonight. I'm surprised it hasn't made its way to the cheap seats yet, it must be pulling in cash consistently from week to week.

Anyway, it's so fucking boring. Good Lord. There's this one scene that sums up most of the movie nicely. Iron Man, Gigolo Joe, and Lisbeth Salander are sitting at a table outside a cafe discussing the plot of the film and what they're going to do next, and it's cutting back and forth from Gigolo Joe to Iron Man and Salander. Only Salander has no dialogue in this scene, she just sits there and sips coffee and nods while pretending to care what Iron Man is saying, and I just wanted to take a nap.

Then the scene from the ads where they're running through the forest being shot at in slow motion shows up and I'm suddenly awake for the rest of the movie, which is mostly entertaining from that point onward.

Two hours was too much.

Sorry to hear that.  I was kinda curious about it since it had Noomi Rapace in it but I'm not gonna sit through a steaming pile to see her.  I'd rather rewatch the Dragon Tattoo stuff.

She had some cool shit to do in the movie, but hopefully she'll play a much more interesting character in Prometheus.

Moneyball. This was a really, really good movie. After seeing it I can say I am sad it didn't win best picture. Probably the best movie I've seen in a long time.

Rewatched Transformers Dark of the Moon last night for the first time since theatres.  I still really dig the movie.

The hypocracy on execution is so bad.  In movie 2 Optimus excecutes a defenseless decepticon by shooting him right in the head while he's immobilised.  Then in movie 3 he says "We will kill them all" and then when the Decepticons take prisoners, something the Autobots never do, and then are convinced by Patrick Demsey to execute them, we are supposed to think they are horrible for that.  Later Optimus excecutes Sentinel Prime who is defenseless and beaten.

The mischaracterization of Optimus Prime has caused me to disavow the live action TF flicks.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Hangover 2: Hangovier.

Still, I was entertained.  I appreciate that they were so shameless about following the exact same formula as the first movie.

I think we've talked about this before, but in a nutshell I'm largely in agreement. The first was the fulfillment of a dream I'd had 25 years ago of a live action TF movie. Not a perfect one (mechanical designs, too fleshling-centric), but I was glad to see it made. But the second was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The third had promise, but damn if they didn't dash that to hell half-way through...and it was largely through the demolition of Optimus Prime's character that it was accomplished.
