You do know that when you screw up and call Kari "Sarah" that you won't get any for a looooooooooooong time, right?   :joe:

How could I confuse them? Sure, Kary is a bruenette with glasses and a love for firearms... but she loves animals and never would kill them. That, and we're both far more liberal than Obama is, so Palin is nothing but soon-2-be-GMILF eyecandy for me :D

Katey Sagal on last night's new show Son's of Anarchy, mmmm. This thread is now about delicious MILFS and GMILFS. Helen Mirin, Marissa Tomei, and Susan Sarandon.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

How 'bout Mariska Hartgitay?  Google her name and chell that first picture.   ;D

Just for the record, Helen Mirren and her red bikini ain't no M or GMILF.  She's as adamantly CF as I am, if not more so.

That wolf hunting shit pisses me off.  I didn't think it was possible to make me consider voting for obama, but this lady has done it.

Yeah, the more I hear about her, the more I find myself pushed to the Obama camp.  Bleh.

I find it funny that she supports Abstinence Only programs... Hmmm.... someone must have skipped that class.

Yeah, hilarious.  That she can't teach her own little tramp how to shut her legs but she wants to foist it on others really annoys me.

Only adds to the mountain of proof that Abstinence Only classes don't work.   :fingershake:  ZOMG If they know about condoms they might USE them!

Also, it's amazing how conservatives shun teenage mothers but are praising Palin and her family for making the "right decisions" in keeping the baby and making her marry her boyfriend.

But enough about pregnant teens.  Did anyone notice that Cindy McCain's face had considerably fewer wrinkles tonight than in the pictures of her in the tribute to her?

Mistresses promoted to wives ain't fools.  Once she saw who Johnny Boy who would be around for 16 hours a day, she was probably at the derm's for Botox STAT.  Not saying that John would get anywhere with Caribou Barbie, but remember, appetite is stimulated by sight & smell, not taste.  That's why the bakery and the pretty produce displays are close to the front in most grocery stores.

Word is that Kay Bailey Hutchison is pretty pissed that McCain didn't even call her.  If he had been serious about an effective female VP, not just window-dressing and a neener-neener point about experience, we'd have see her or Olympia Snowe on the ticket.  I'm an Independent - I would have no problem with either of them. Both are extremely smart women who know how to play in the big boy league, but they don't have a very high glam factor.

Back to preg teens for just a second - anyone read babydaddy's MySpace profile?  Self-described redneck who doesn't want kids and apparently dropped out of high school as well.  Yeah, way to have high ambitions for your daughter, Sarah.  :nono: I really feel sorry for that kid - Mom has totally thrown her under the bus.

In the interest of family harmony, I did not tune in last night as Eddie said that if that "wolf-torturing cunt" was on, he would go to the neighborhood pub.  Since the C-word is not a frequent one in his vocabulary and I was a bit shocked, I'll have to read about it in the paper.

Yet Eddie has no problem listening to a man who opposed a law stating that abortionists couldn't abandon a failed abortion (re: a born child) to die?  Are wolves more important than a human child who's been born?

$3.9 million is three times what the charity received the year before, up from $1.3 million in 2007.
Yes, and the cost of living in Anchorage is approximately 23% higher that the rest of the nation, according to the ACCRA Index, so a 20% cut there is really felt.  Plus one can't exactly sleep outside for 9 months of the year in Alaska as is possible in Houston (if you don't mind the giant roaches).  There isn't a day when Covenant House doesn't have kids curled up asleep in the doorway.  And really, you can't expect me not to be sensitive to any cuts for a program I send money to.   :-\

IT'S NOT A CUT, IT'S NOT A CUT, IT'S NOT A CUT!  $5M WAS NEVER GIVEN TO THE CHARITY!  IT WENT FROM $1.3M IN 2007 TO $3.9M IN 2008!  $3.9M / $1.3M = 3!  300% IS BIGGER THAN 20%!

As for abstinence only programs, I don't see what good sex-ed programs are, anyway.  Kids know about sex...why do you have to have a "program" to tell them about the risks, how to avert risk to a degree, and that abstinence is the only sure way to avoid them?

The reason he went with Palin over Hutch and Snowe is that they are not conservatives, and that's the group he was aiming at with the VP pick (it didn't work with me, though).
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Yikes!  It was what they based their budget on because they had no reason to think that what had been earmarked wouldn't be there!  Personally, I don't count my raise untill it's in the bank, but I don't run a non-profit and forecast my operating budget 16-18 months in advance!  This is how they determine what goals to project for fund-raising, hiring vs. volunteers, expansion possiblities, programs they can offer, et al.   I'm sorry that business finance works differently than putting an allowance in a piggy bank.  Dry explanation follows:  :keelover:

 The phrase "income contingent" might be familiar to some as it's now an option for school loans based on projected ability to pay it back - briefly, on any business line item analysis (listing of all current/projected assets & liabilities), contingent income is figured as income expected for the next month, year, 5 years, whatever.  For example, ours is partially figured on revenue from current policies in force.  We can't predict who is going to go to a competitor, die, what claims will occur to offset profit or anything in the future, but we have to make some sort of budget on what we have reason to believe is expected.  Not received - expected.   From that analysis, sales and retention figures are projected and goals are set.  If contingent income is disrupted, it's seen as a "cut".   If anyone can figure out another way a business can operate in this century, please share.  Or market the method on 2 AM cable.  :happy:

Hmmmm...I don't remember ever mentioning that Eddie had listened to any speeches or who he planned to vote for or what his opinion of abortion was.   You'll have to refresh me.  How do you know he's not stumping for Bob Barr?  :guitar:

So you'd rather kids just watch TV and learn about sex that way?  You don't see people on TV stopping to pull a condom out of the drawer while they're ripping each other's clothes off.  You don't see the girl stop and say, "It's cool, I'm on the pill."  Or they could learn from their friends in the cafeteria that tell them that pulling out is a fail-proof method.  Kids have all the WRONG ideas about sex and they need someone in a trusted and respected position (IE TEACHER OR PARENT [but parents don't want that responsibility so they push it on teachers and TV]) to dispel rumors.  Teenagers are horny motherfuckers, they're going to have sex.  Honestly, I'd rather reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies rather than increase abortions or children in bad situations.  And that can be accomplished by... EDUCATION!!    :happy:  :stickdance:

QFT.  My parents never talked to me about sex.  EVER.  I NEVER "knew about sex" as kid.  I had the extreme misfortune of walking in on my parents in flagrante delicto when I was about eight years old but, still, no one ever talked about it.  I consider myself lucky I had little interest in actually having it to begin with.  I'm fairly certain a large number of my relatives also missed "the talk" and got TV to show them instead, especially since a load of them had cable and parents too drunk to bother screening what their kids would watch.

In an ideal world, a parent would have the talk and be open for further discussion.  Kids need to be told by someone who actually has a inkling of what they're talking about because a lot of parents aren't doing their job.  It should be at least an educational elective, just like general financial planning should be.  I've met kids who don't know how a bank account works or how a credit card works or how a lease operates let alone their own bodies.  There's a lot about our world that kids (and adults for that matter) don't know that society thinks they just should (and then treats them like morons for asking).  If parents drop the ball and want to claim that "it takes a village to raise a child", then the village should step up and at least offer some fucking education on the subject instead of being so fucking bashful and saying "don't do it all".  It'd be different if the aim were to raise monks and nuns, but society will want them to have sex eventually so WTF.

Just read this, and it's beautiful....

Now whatever anyone thinks of Obama, he ain't stupid.  Plus I know Hil's expressions - he's talked to her about her future if he gets elected, and she likes what he's said.  As Eddie put it "It's not going to be my staying home in November pouting that denies her a Cabinet position!"  And unless the President dies, VP is really window-dressing and attending funerals.  She deserves, and will get better.

But holy crap....can you imagine Hil wiping the floor with Sarah in a VP debate?  There wouldn't be a dry seat in the house.

No.  I don't see why you need multi-million dollar programs for something that can be effectively explained in classes like Health, A&P, and Home Ec.

Sex Ed. Class, Sam's 5 minute run-down.

Members of the Animal Kingdom generally reproduce sexually, with the male's sperm uniting with the female's egg to produce a new genetically unique organism.  With humans, this happens when a man inserts his penis into the woman's vagina.  Now besides creating babies, this can also transfer diseases between the two people.  Some of these diseases are very bad and can kill you.  The diseases can be spread with any kind of sex, any kind of contact with the genitals.  Your chances of transmitting a disease increase the more people you have sex with.  Contraceptives like condoms can help stop the spread of these diseases and stop pregnancies, but they're not fool proof and can fail.  If you don't have sex, you won't get pregnant or get any diseases.  Ok?  Got it?

Good.  Everyone take out your math books and turn to page 85.  Pass your homework assignment from last night to the person in front of you...

My friend related the story at lunch of giving her son "the talk" at 14 and using a cucumber to demonstrate how to put a condom on.  She laughs about it now, but points out that she has no unplanned grandkids so far.

I thought you might find this interesting, Bernie. My professor, the biggest Obamafag of them all, noted this in class yesterday and expressed real doubt over Obama's chances now that Palin is in.

http://www.creators.com/opinion/alexander-cockburn/one-cheer-for-sarah-palin.html

Quote
One Cheer for Sarah Palin

Sure, we know. She's a wolf killer, bear hunter, would-be driller in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. She backs the Pebble Creek gold mine, scheduled as the world's largest, right next to the salmon-rich bay after which she and Todd named their second daughter. She tried to get her former brother-in-law bounced from his job as a cop. Nobody's perfect. After all, she was only runner-up in the Miss Alaska competition in '86.

But the liberal attacks on Palin are absurd to the point of lunacy.

Experience. Given the highly experienced maniacs who have been destroying this country decade after decade, one would have thought that the E word would be an immediate disqualification.

At its best, American populism is irreverent to powet and never more bracing than when suggesting that one of the regular, ordinary folks could do it better. That's the constituency in Alaska that responded to Palin and that put her in the governor's mansion. Liberals who don't follow Alaska politics probably don't understand the extent of her achievement. Only Louisiana, another oil rich state, outstrips Alaska in luxuriant corruption, and for years, it was run by Ted Stevens, Frank Murkowski and Don Young. Palin outmaneuvered them all in four years, which took courage and cunning. She took down the great powet in her own party, Gov. Murkowski.

This trio were themselves in the pockets of the oil companies, who were not happy to see them go. Palin, while an ardent supporter of drilling, has taken a more populist approach, for the first time levying a state tax on oil industry profits and returning this in rebates to Alaska residents. To put it mildly, this is unusual in American politics, and you have to go back to the southern populists and indeed to Louisiana and Huey Long to find precedents.

Barack Obama apparently took notice of what Palin was doing as governor of Alaska. His energy plan lifts three central elements from her program: a windfall profits' tax on the oil companies, an energy rebate tax, and the development of a transcontinental natural gas pipeline from Prudhoe Bay across Canada to the Midwest.
Palin publicly praised Obama for his plan, though the story in the Alaska Daily News about this endorsement has since been removed from her Web site for obvious reasons.

Much of the venom against Palin is clearly class-based. Sarah and her husband, Todd — a quarter Yu'pik — are working class. So, from the elites, we get endless sermons on the theme that somehow McCain's choice is "an insult" to American women, particularly feminists. Why wasn't the candidacy of Hillary Clinton, the most endlessly submissive and humiliated wife in the nation's political history — at least on the public record — derided as "an insult" to feminist aspirations?

Actually, Todd seems to us a sign that things have moved on from the gloomy portrait of the American working class male offered us by Susan Faludi. Faludi's blue-collar, backlashing male lived in rage and anguish at his lost estate as breadwinner and lord of the hearth. We don't detect signs of this kind of angst from Todd, a member of the steelworkers' union who seems at ease as a supportive husband and, more importantly, father.

If she makes it to the vice president's office, Sarah Palin will no doubt shake things up. Liberals gasp with rage that she's had friendly relations with the Alaska Independence Party and put on a Buchanan button when he came to Anchorage. These are encouraging signs of independence, and hopefully of some reserve about the neocons.

Of course, the bottom line for liberals, particularly women, is her position on choice. Which is the image you prefer: a story that Sarah Palin aborted her baby once she was told of its Down syndrome, and counseled Bristol to abort her baby so as not to damage her political campaign? Or the course that Sarah Palin did take, consistent with her outlook on life and her beliefs?

So someone opposed to choice might become vice president. What about all the politicians nominally favoring choice who have made it virtually impossible since Roe vs. Wade for working women to have practical, effective choice? The liberals attack Palin for her position on sex education. But when Jocelyn Elders, Clinton's surgeon general, spoke publicly about the merits of masturbation and condoms, she was immediately fired. There are postures, and there are principled positions. We prefer the latter.

Alexander Cockburn and Jeffrey St Clair edit the Web site and newsletter CounterPunch.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;

I have some doubts about the website where Tom got that article, not knowing if it leans a certain way or is moderate or neutral.

Also, Tom, stop leg humping Palin. Good Looks <> Good in office

Mmmm, delicious Palin. Seriously, I'd never vote for her... but I'd hit it right so the resulting baby wouldn't be a chromasome shy.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

Dude!  :lmao:

Did anyone see the SNL skit with Tina Fey as Palin and Amy Poehler as Clinton?  Palin's the politician Tina Fey was made to play.

Heard it wasn't funny, and Obama skipped out of showing up.

If it wasn't funny then it's about par for the course for SNL these days.

Yeah... we're in the Chris Elliot/Janinine Garafolo years again. Soon a brand-new cast will take over and redefine cool. I await that day.

It was hilarious!

I read that Obama skipped out because of something to do with Hurricane Ike.
The wife forgave the mistress for she only entertained.

It was chuckle-worthy... which is pretty darn good when you consider the rest of the show.  I didn't know Obama was going to show up.  They should've just invited Tim Meadows back to play Obama.
