The Fujiko show is quite fun. I've seen the first four so far...muy bueno.

Some of the shows I'm working on to some extent:
Rinne no Lagrange looks interesting. An earnest girl piloting stuff she by all rights shouldn't be and getting involved in something that's ultimately going to be a bigger burden than bargained for. Probably the heaviest thing I'm fixing to start watching, which explains the rest of what follows.

High School DxD looks like stupid fan-servicey fun. I wouldn't admit to this anywhere but here, though. I've got most of it pulled down and ready to watch, but the first episode didn't do much for me.

Never finished Manyuu Hikenchou. Won't be long, though, since my time crunch is slowly easing.

Finished OreImo several weeks ago. The show's quite skeevy...a guy helps his little sister pursue her etchi game fixation. Ugh. But it's cute in its way.

Currently rewatching TF: Headmasters, with plans to pick up Masterforce soon. I've seen both before, but I'm looking forward to getting back to Masterforce, since that's the only Japanese TF show I ever really got into. I'm still struggling to get through Victory.

I'm trying to get through Kemeko DX again since I never finished it years ago (and it's only 12 episodes!). It's starting to get better later in the series.

Also, just finished watching a commentary track for Darker Than Black which is the other series I'm rushing through. It had Christopher Sabat (He seems to perfer his full name) as one of the commentators, and I swear, for a voice actor Chris has only one voice... his own. Out of everything I've seen him in I've never heard him do any other voice. Even the commentary he sounded like all of his characters. I also expect him to be beefier with that deep voice rather than his skinny-ass self.

Hah, His Wiki says he's doing the voice of Garterbelt... wait, Funimation picked up Panty & Stocking? ;_;

Please use the electronic form... for the sake of trees.
I'm reminded of that stupid MGMT song again. :/

That image is hilarious, in context.

At least, I think so.
The comments for that article are better than the article itself.

The college club wanted to show this because it looked SOO good, but way too much fanservice that would violate school rules, and we're already being watched thanks to that April Fools joke.

I wish they'd cut down on the fanservice in that series though. Some claim it shows that Fujiko is a strong woman because she can flash her bare tits to make men do what she wants, but dammit, a woman can be strong without showing skin. See: Most comic female heroes.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

Yeah, a long time ago.  And I don't say that way to be rude to you, I say it because I'm bitter about this long-ass wait for this show to be officially released.  They've literally been sitting on it for over a year now.

Kurogane from Tsubasa and Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho sound different enough.  There are other Funi actors with a far more limited range than him.  Not that I didn't groan aloud when I read he'd be Garterbelt, but just sayin'.

I'm curious as to how well P&Sw/G will translate, but I'm not too excited about getting it, since it's been, what, a year since I watched it last, and I wasn't taken with it. I would recommend the bluray version, as I can sees it losing a lot in the standard definition edition.

I got a lot of lulz from them saying "faaaaaak" and "beeetch" in Engrish.  So I expect to lose some entertainment value on that basis alone.

^ From what I've heard so far in that preview, Chris Sabat at least appears to have comic timing.  The girls don't sound so hot imo though.  Panty sounds bored instead of brassy and Stocking sounds nasally instead of cutesy.  It doesn't have me so excited for this release.  Even less reason to get it if it turns out to have the dreaded hard subtitles like Princess Jellyfish.

If it's on blu-ray, prepare for disappointment. Pissed me off when that new FMA movie wouldn't let me watch the subs on the English track. That's bullhell...I paid for this thing, so let me watch it as I please. I don't give a fig if Japanese fans are tired of being buttfucked by their homeland publishers in having to pay a kerbillion yens per episode.

Bingo. And this sentiment could be applied to a lot of anime. When I'm watching a sub, I'm hearing the original voices while reading the translation, and everything seems fine.

Then I try to watch the dub and suddenly every line of dialogue either becomes embarrassingly cringe-inducing, or dry and emotionless.

As far as I can tell, it's DVD-only, which is a bummer.

Oh, yeah, that's right.  I completely forgot they were only doing DVD for this one.  On the plus side, then it won't be in one of those combo packs and I can score it cheap maybe.

There were no dubtitles?  Anyway, I just saw that movie the other day.  I liked it but I don't think I'll ever watch again.  Also Ed and Winry had weird mop-hair.  And that one guy spoke and all I heard was Tygra.  It was like "wow, so you're bitchy in this, too".

I'm waiting for FMA:B to be released in one or two big-assed bluray packs. The first is available now, but the second is sometime next month. The preorder price on Amazon for the second is 52 bucks, but the first is 30, so I'll wait a little while and see if it drops some more. Better to pay 60 than 80...or wait until it drops some more, if it does.

I'm not paying $30 a disc for shit like this anymore.

Watched all of Kemeko DX and it just went straight to shit. It was nothing more than a glorified fanservice-filled harem anime that started off as a parody comedy and just went straight to shit. I kinda figured it out when the villain starts having the hots for the main character. "Yes I want to take over the world but I want to fuck your brains out first you sexy hero"

Sure there was lots of parody throughout the series but it just stopped being funny.

And the end of the series explains NOTHING, and hints at another season, that never happened. Even the manga it was based off of was dropped without an ending or explaining what was going on, and was probably dropped due to massive suck.

Heh. Sounds like something I'd watch.

Maken-Ki! is neither humorous nor particularly exciting, but for some reason I like it. Maybe because it acts like there's something big under the surface that is interesting but will never get to. Maybe I just like copious numbers of copiously-sized animated boobs. Maybe it's because the one guy who is too stupid to realize that all the chicks want to sex him up and therefore never gets any is a tragic figure to me, and I feel sorry for him. Maybe it's envy. I don't know. Apple Jacks.

I'm watching Read or Die on Hulu. Fucking Hulu puts two to three commercials every time there's a break. Which is apparently five times during thirty minute episodes. Fucking Hulu.

You talking the TV series or the OVA? I thought they were great when I first saw them years ago, but I tried to watch the OVA recently and it took me over a week to grind through it. Haven't seen the TV series since my first year on Netflix.

Thank goodness that's just a photoshop. Ugh.

It's a 'shop of Keanu Reeves as Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop, a movie that's been in development hell for some time and was to star Reeves as Spiegel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowboy_Bebop#Live-action_film

I'd rather Hollywood not assrape one of the best anime programs of all time, thank you very much.

That said, Pattinson would be about the same as Keanu for Spike, which is to say a maximum letdown. These guys have about as much range and charisma as white dried-up Ein poop, and half the intelligence.

Half the intelligence of dried-up poop? That is hyperbole, sir! Hyperbole, I say!

But in all seriousness, Spike is forever 27, while Keanu is 47 and aging. Hell, he's too old to even play Jet at this point.

A bad movie doesn't take away from the quality of the source material.  Did everyone stop watching Dragonball Z when that life action movie came out?  Did Van Damn's Street Fighter (which I love btw...) make people stop playing Street Fighter in arcardes?

I never even started watching DBZ. It just looks uninteresting. Except for Abridged. That was fun, though I only watched a few of them.

This isn't Retard Wars.   no one's raping your childhood.

What childhood? It's pretty hard to rape my childhood in this way when the show wasn't introduced to me until my early twenties :P

But still, there's no reason to talk down to me like to a drooling fanboy with the trite "you don't lose what you love" argument (which is a stretch, as I can't say I *love* Bebop). In this case, I simply don't want Hollywood to to take a very good intellectual property and turn it into shit. Saying that I'll always have the original material neither nullifies that sentiment nor has any bearing on it one way or the other.

Besides, if I were concerned with the sanctity of Cowboy Bebop, I'd be burning in effigy those responsible for the shitfest that was the followup Bebop manga. Holy crap, was that a travesty.
