I've got but not yet seen Baccano because I picked it up before I realized it was one of those weird-ass mindjob shows that actually requires you to pay attention to figure it out. Despite my abiding love for Evangelion, I'm tired of those types. I want brainless, fun stuff that I can forget after a short layover.

Yeah, Baccano's been on Netflix Streaming but I've been conflicted about even starting it for that very reason.

Baccano is fun just pay attention to the time skips and you'll enjoy it.

Watched Redline with 20 yr old.  She loved it.  Then I loved her...physically.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

There's a sort of Anime festival the saturday after next. And they just announced that they'll be having two GOHs: Crispin Freeman and Fred Ghallager. Yes, Crispin fucking Freeman and Fred Fucking Ghallager.

I could give two shits about Ghallager, because I didn't really like Megatokyo, but about half the weaboo girls on Facebook are besides themselves with joy and trying to figure out what Hellsing product they should have Crispin sign. I have to admit I think it's awesome such a famous voice actor is coming to such a tiny anime event that probably won't even have 500 people at it. Now I have to figure out what to buy to get him to sign.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

What do you expect, the dude has played Alucard, and he looks like a Twilight character. That said, I'd list him among the top dub VAs. It's said that he's a good guest on the convention circuit, so it should be worth going.

I've never read Megatokyo though.

And Crispin Freeman turned out to be a bit of a douche. Incredibly smart, but a bit of a cocky smartass. And that hair. He looks like a cross between Grace Topher and a former NSync member. Who does their hair like that?

The Blade anime is pretty good.  It's interesting to see Japanese vampires, they're all about being kind of zombie like and the glowing eyes.  They also keep putting in weird animal vapires like birds with long necks.  Weird...

Anyway the shit with Blade is cool.  His origin story and all that.

Then last night I was an episode named "Day Walker and Mutant".  They have a lot of engineered vampires so I figured that's what it's about.

Then this slim guy with spikey hair shows up and I'm thinking I've seen this guy before... oh wait, his name is Logan?

It's fucking Wolverine... in Blade... dropping refereces to his stupid ass anime show that sucks.  That really ruined the whole tone of the world for me having that kind of crossover.  Blade shouldn't interact with the rest of the Marvel universe.  It cheapens the whole thing.

Well, those shows were all part of the same Japanese Marvel initiative. I wouldn't be surprised if Iron Mang and the X-Men team up with Blade at some point.

It's not like it would be inauthentic to the comics. Everyone mows everyone else's grass these days, there's no separation. It's kind of what I've grown to loathe about most superhero stuff.

I'm interesting in seeing this but gah on the Wolverine thing.  I remember when he used to be cool and I've just gotten sick of him as the years have worn on.  Like a visiting relative that doesn't know when to leave.

I remember the exact time I realized the guy was a d-bag but it was so long ago that I don't have the link to youtube vid that made me just ::)  His voice is kinda douchey too in retrospect.

Blade is at it's worst in comics form as far as I'm concerned.  And the Marvel universe is a total joke.  Blade is published by Marvel, but his existence alongside other Marvel superhoroes just cheapens the whole story.  Doing this kind of crossover is just stupid.  It's like when you have Superman show up in Batman.  Batman is a very realistic character with normal human powers who fights slightly stronger than average villans... then you drop him in the DC universe and it's stupid.

Marvel and DC comics are stupid.

Well, yeah. Did you know that DC stands for Detective Comics?

Detective Comics comics. And on a monthly basis, Detective Comics releases a comic called Detective Comics. It's never not about Batman.

Robotech: The Macross Saga...again. Watching this cause I got The Masters, and New Generations on DVD for a good deal and am trying to catch up before they get here in the mail. Even though I know these three series don't really have anything to do with each other. =P

Finished Robotech: Macross. I really like this series except that they do this weird..."Well story is over, but we are gonna do ten more episodes anyway." I mean the thing is over at Episode 26. Rick says goodbye to Minmay....Then he goes off and fights the big final battle then he goes and gets Lisa and they ride off into the sunset. THE END...but noooooooo...then we flash forward two years to like 9 of the most depressing episodes I've ever seen. And hardly any cool space battles to break it up. They should have worked in those plot points before episode 26 instead of after it. It would be like if in SW after Luke blew up the Death Star, we get to see them digging out the base on Hoth while Luke sits around and whines about Obi-Wan being dead and how he can't get into Leia's pants for another 30 mins.

Macross is preferable to me if for no other reason than it leads one closer to Do You Remember Love, the greatest anime ever made. Sadly, it's not available domestically, so that means fansub, but thankfully there is a Bluray remastered version floating about.

Yeah I really want to see that...but without the same VA cast from Robotech it would seem werid to me.  But I've heard that it is really good.

Mari Iijima reprises her role as Minmay. While it was weird hearing her in English, it worked for me.

Vic Mignogna (Magnolia? Bologna? I can't say it) played Hikaru/Rick, though. I figure that'll put someone here in a conniption.

I wish to God a proper English version of DYRL could ever be made.

I've always heard that. I just know that some here can't stand him. I think he's overused and sounds exactly the same in everything I've heard him in, but in general I think he does pretty good work. His Hikaru was hard to take for me, since I was used to the Japanese VA, but it's not like he did a bad job.

That's right, it was Faye. How could I confuse the two?

And, yes, that was her reason. I have a hard time believing it, though.
