Um.... so anybody upgrade to Windows 11 yet?

Just wondering.

I mean, back when 10 came out, I placed settings on my laptop to stop it from allowing or prompting any OS upgrade at all because I was really happy with the OS I already had.** In retrospect, I think I might've held out too long. I only replaced that laptop because it took waaaaay too damn long to start up and shut down so I'm curious if having updated to 10 would've fixed that.

My newer laptop that I have now is just the newer model of my old laptop and while I like having a SSD included, my old laptop had the perfect backlit keyboard with minimal bleed while this one just bleeds all over the damn place.


**Maybe I'm a dinosaur but I really miss the older interfaces that allowed me to customize everything instead of Windows 10's pretending to be a tablet and its fake-ass dark mode.

I never update a PC operating system in the first year...let them work the kinks out with the early-adopter guinea pigs first.

Good point, Shwigs. I know you've brought it before to let the kinks get worked out first.  I hope my computer doesn't proceed to harass me the entire time because, I swear, it's like "yo, I'm ready" with a little blue dot and everything.

Just 10. There's this message saying my PC doesn't meet the requirements to run 11 anyway, so I guess that's that.

Apparently I have to go into the BIOS and flip a switch to enable some security protocol, and THEN my PC will be ready for Windows 11?

Sounds fishy to me.

My laptop has a 4th gen/4000 series Intel chip, and M$ says it's too old, but I don't really care as I never use it. However, my mom does, which is all the more reason not to change anything on it, now or ever. In a few years when I upgrade from 1.5Mbps max DSL to the gigafibers I might buy a new one just for high.
