I saw the credits for God of War. At a certain point I just wanted it to be over, so I dropped down into easy mode to completely trivialize the combat, and ignored all the optional content. The story was alright, but I was so checked out by the end that the final reveal just had very little impact on me.
Maybe it's because Greek mythology is so ubiquitous, making everything in the old games instantly recognizable, but I feel like the Norse setting was really underused here. Or maybe misused is the word. Like maybe they spread themselves a little thin with the whole Nine Realms thing. Dark elves are insects? What? Almost as if they were afraid of seeming unoriginal. Enemy variety on the whole was severely lacking.
Or it could just be that what I'm actually doing is comparing a single PS4 game to the 2 PS2, 2 PSP, and 2 PS3 games that came before it, which is hardly fair. I don't know. Maybe my heart just wasn't in it since I'm still all about that MONSTER HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!111
Thinking about checking out that 3DS Monster Hunter RPG now.
God damn it.
