I saw the Superman/Shazam short. It looks nice but damn...

1. James Garner was miscasted and really phoned this shit in.
2. The kid was good except for like one part where he wasn't convincing me of shit.
3. Trippy black-tiger-guy was trippy.

Yeah, I saw that one not too long ago. The post is in the Owlery under Supes/Bats: Apoc. I still don't know how much the previously released shorts were actually extended or what episodes come on the Supes/Shazam DVD as a bonus.

Okay, the Spectre was great. Loved the film grain and the music. I decided to give Green Arrow another shot, and it was actually pretty good. I must have been miserable the first time I watched it.

Shazam was solid, but did the fights strike you as uber-DBZ-ish? I swear some of that shit was ripped directly, frame for frame. And you're right about Garner, he sounded like a fucking cowboy, which I assume is just his natural speaking voice.

Jonah Hex is still my favorite.

My major prob with Garner is that Shazam looked hella fuckin' old and Garner actually sounded too young. Heh, bet he doesn't get that too often. I kinda expected someone more Dumbledore/Gandalf-ish to be voicing Shazam. The fights did seem a bit DBZ. Guess we'll have to wait and see if someone actually remembers those frames cause I ain't checkin'.

Ditto on Jonah Hex. That one was definetely the best.

I wish they had actually done more of these. Four just isn't enough to be releasing a DVD.

Especially when you consider we're only getting twenty-odd minutes of new material.

To my knowledge, the existing shorts are unchanged from the original releases.

I do like how they've been churning out three features a year, with three more planned for 2012. Hopefully they'll keep up with the shorts as well.

Shazam is a odd case, though. He's supposed to be ancient but not wasted away, so having him sound like a grizzled Maverick isn't really that weird to me.

As do I. I just think they should've saved Shazam and attached it to the next movie. Then, after doing three or four more shorts, THEN release the whole collection. And give us a commentary! They always stingy off the good crap for Puke-Ray.

Earlier, I saw an ep of the Amazing Race that really wasn't quite so amazing. Then I watched Tina Fey get her Mark Twain Award majigger on PBS.

Yeah, I can't fathom wearing those goofy-ass glasses every time I sit down to watch something.

And it's still gonna be a long, long time before it's widely supported.

It might never even really catch on, who knows.

It seems so fucking stupid that 3D was supposed to be this big initiative to get people back into theatre seats, and already, "Hey, now in the comfort of your own home!"

Toshiba is coming out with a 3d tv that doesnt need glasses. unfortunately those tvs are only 20 inches so we wont get it.

I'd like to upgrade my almost 20 year-old 32" RCA console TV. But it still looks good and works, so I can't really justify it.

I was watching this with a girl I've been hanging out with. Only two episodes in, and it seems pretty cool.
