FUCK YEAH ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!
I can think of few shows that I can watch over and over, but the one at the top of my list is Arrested Development. I really can think of nothing else I would love to watch every year.
The only show I go out of my way to catch is Big Bang Theory, and it's new episodes have been spotty at best lately. So I only watch when I get an update on Facebook telling me the episode will be new. Other then that I just surf a lot.
@beck: When you say you miss the last episode, do you mean the one from the week before?

I used to love Top Chef. Watched till the Marcel season. I saw a commercial the other day. That woman that is a judge, white woman with long hair, has gained weight. Like a LOT. She really does seems to take her job as a judge serious huh
Top Chef (Both series)

I tried sitting through that but no dice. It reminds me of every other pretentious white-bread geek culture web comic out there. But yeah, at least it's not another fat man with an inexplicably hot wife.
Well then girlfriend has been pregnant for the last year and a half.
I think she's pregnant, she just got married (last season had them cooking for her wedding) so now I think she's knocked up. Either that, or her husband is pissed.
Takes all kinds I guess. I have yet to be able to sit through Lost, or through Hedwig and the Angry Itch, but I know you love them. Course I'd stop watching if Sheldon wasn't on there.
It's hard to lose those post-baby pounds. No it aint. I lost 25 pounds the first 2 weeks post partum and I only had 5 more pounds to go. This was like a month ago, I probably shred those 5 left already. She has no excuse for her fatness
Touché on Hedwig but I don't love Lost.
I can think of nothing on ABC that I actually watch beyond Lost. Wait. Is V on ABC? Fuck. I watch that.V
Touché on Hedwig but I don't love Lost.
Well I hope you at least liked Lost at some point. You kept watching it. Why watch a show you hate?
But I really think that Hedwig is to you like Rocky Horror is to me. It's that movie that when you tell people you like it they give you funny looks.
Well I hope you at least liked Lost at some point. You kept watching it. Why watch a show you hate?
Clone Wars isn't that bad. Better then the movies.
House is awesome. I need to start watching the old seasons.shit I used to watch Weeds! thats an awesome show. Do you know of any webpage where I can watch this at?
I am watching through Weeds now.
My other room mate wants me to watch the Clone Wars. I do not think I want to. I have not made up my mind.

i dont have netflix. why would i, can find everything onlineI would get it for the HD content and stability, but I want to see what FiOS offers.
I dont really care for the HD, what do you want to see, the actors' pores?
I do have an HD, I think its forty something inches. People look like robots in itI dont really care for the HD, what do you want to see, the actors' pores?
You obviously don't have an HD. Movies, sports, television shows just look better on a 50-inch plasma 1080i Samsung.
Rocky Horror is one of those movies you either love, hate, or just don't understand what the big deal about it is. Never met anyone that came away from it going "I liked it, but it was just OK."
I'm rewatching Arrested Development. The show never stops being amazing.I was going to watch that right now in Hulu
I just got Netflix for Wii. Kary and I were watching Newsradio last night on it. I miss that show. It tanked when Harman died, but before that it was gold.
If Nuri doesn't know, supposedly they're airing the final episode of Lost next week.
I might even watch it, even though I've never watched the entire series.
I'm expecting some kind of "Surprise!" ending, like "Surprise, it was all a dream in Locke's head while he slept on the airplane, it never crashed!" kind of ending.
I'll also be leading a party to go down to Hollywood and beat and torture the creators of this show after the final...
Ricky Gervais was awesome in it, tonight.
Avatar? AVATAR? :nurinono:
Dude, in that World's Finest crossover with Superman and Batman in Spanish and they call Bruce Wayne "Bruno Diaz".LOL i forgot about this! they always change names like that. They call Chichi (from DB) "Milk", god knows why. those crazy mexicans.
When I got the line after the one ending in "PERSON:" I had a bunch of weird looks from my co workers as I laughed quite loud.
They call Chichi (from DB) "Milk", god knows why. those crazy mexicans.
LOL i always giggle everytime I hear Laputa. Dem crazy japs. Chichi yeah I guess it can be slang for boobs. But my cousin's nickname (from when she was a baby) is Chichi and her name is Fiorella. I don't know how the nickname derived from the name
Isn't it like Mex slang for titty or something? Kinda reminds of Disney changing the title for Miyazaki's Laputa. I was all scratching my head for several minutes before I realized why it was offensive.
True Blood has gotten really fucking good
I'm watching Season 4 of Batman the Animated Series.
We got a channel called Palladia and it was on there. I also watched "Across the Sea: Weezer live in Japan" and now MTV World Stage: Green Day is on.Love the concerts on Palladia.
I hate both you. stupid HD channels. It's even better on ma 50-inch.
No, it will not be gone, but it will be just like all the others and maybe have a "2" version of itself.
A MALLET. I love Weeds. When you turn 21, you can use any fucking sports item you want!
Just saw the Dexter of this season. I hope they go somewhere with this season. They've been on some bullshit for the last 2 years.I was ambivilent toward it, Kary was upset that Rita didn't know.
COOL TV is coming soon here. Apparently, it's some kind of music-oriented station. If they play anything international or from the 80's, I will love them. If it's an excuse for 24-hr-a-day Bieber Fever, I will burn them to the ground.
you fucking best!
3rd Rock From the Sun.zomg I loved that showwww
fuck House
I'm dropping out of Sons of Anarchy and Dexter till the end of the season. I'll wath em all when their over. Watching Parks and Rec. season 2 and Louie.
I finally saw Superman: Doomsday. Not bad. But those damn lines on Superman's face. EWWWWWWWWWWW!
And this:

Finally got to season four of Eureka and I AM PISSED THE FUCK OFF

Go do your homework. You tube it.
The Hogfather and The Color of Magic.
Lord of the Rings: The Animated Film.
This thing had no end. It just covers The Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers. It ends with the battle of Helm's Deep. Apparently there was suppose to be another film, but United Artist wouldn't shell out the money for it despite this one making it's money back ten fold.
Said watched, not liked.

You mean you hadn't seen this already somehow?
He mentioned the Color of Magic twice, so I felt like he was trying to promote it.
I actually read the Color of Magic to get a taste for Terry Pratchett's Discworld stuff, and I did not like it. Given, it was the first one, and I'm sure he's improved over the years, but it totally soured me on the idea of reading anything else by him, and there's plenty of other stuff I'd rather be reading anyway.
Anyway, as little as I liked the book, I loathed the made-for-television thingy, which combines the first two books. I'll never understand why Samwise Gamgee would slum it in such an obvious pile of dung.
The Hogfather and The Color of Magic.
You used to like cool shit, toe. What happened to you?
Rangers stomp the Giants .. hopefully (I am totally bandwagoning right now).
Sure, why not?
For some reason, I'm just not interested in the Avengers toon.
It's got to be better then Wolverine and the X-Men and you watched that.
Dexter is getting good again
Especially when you consider we're only getting twenty-odd minutes of new material.
To my knowledge, the existing shorts are unchanged from the original releases.
I do like how they've been churning out three features a year, with three more planned for 2012. Hopefully they'll keep up with the shorts as well.
^great fucking show.
Bout to watch Megamind and Misfits season 2. If you guys should chell out Misfits too. It's about these kids who get super powers while doing community service and the wackyness the ensues.
^great fucking show.
Faye plays games?Yes and no. Yes I play games but I like the ones like Harvest Moon, Mario 64 etc. No because I don't play games like RDR, Splinter Cell etc BUT I love watching my husband play them. I do play them a liiiittle though but I rather watch him do it, I'm more entertained that way
(http://i56.tinypic.com/v7wf0h.jpg)
Nope, it wasn't. Nothing is these days.
You still can.
I stalled on Firefly. It didn't really grab me but I'll probably stream the rest of it from Netflix some time undetermined.
I on the other hand and am glad to hear. Now I know I'm not alone in thinking that it might NOT be the best thing since sliced bread.
And I'm still pissed at Disney for moving Avengers till Sunday Morning. I always sleep in on Sunday morning. Always! I didn't get to see Masters of Evil till last night, cause ahhh noooooo they can't rerun it on Wed even though they didn't take Avengers out of that time slot. Bastards.
Just finished the Dexter finale. Michael C. Hall is awesome, Julia Stiles has never been and never will be any good at anything other than being ugly.I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks shes ugly as all fuck
You still can.

sorry to hear that. what episode did you stop at?
Don't remember who watches Dexter but just fyi hes divorcing from his wife in real life cause he supposedly cheated on her with nasty white-trashy Julia Stiles.I nnever found her much attractive, but then I never found Debra hot either.
Anyone watching G.I.Joe: Renegades? Once you get past the ugly character designs the show isn't all that bad.
So ... uh .... what the fuck was that?
Hahaha her loss.
Then she'll hate everyone for being conflicted.
And I'll be all like "SERVED."
Don't watch it. It seriously just not funny and all of the songs feel really "forced". I mean, subject yourself to it if you must, but I turned it off after 10 mins.
It's Waynehead bad.
I thought the movies were pretty poor compared to the original run.
No, I'm watching bland stuff like Young Justice. This latest episode was still meh. Aqualad is boring. Aqua-everything is kinda boring. Let's just make a deal to stay out of the sea.
Did anyone see Dumps's roast? Is ther a reason the idiot from the Jersey Shore even deserves to be alive?
Did anyone see Dumps's roast? Is ther a reason the idiot from the Jersey Shore even deserves to be alive?
Yeah, that situation guy. A twenty-something dotard. While I realize that's an oxymoron, it's funny if you rhyme it with "retard". That was actually so painful as to force my fast-forwarding of it.
The David Hasselhoff roast was absolutely golden, though. But they also had so much to work with on that one. It was worth it if for no other reason than William Daniels' surprise "appearance".
Also, The Rock is officially wrestling again. Guess his movie prospects have dried up a little lately?
Did anyone see Dumps's roast? Is ther a reason the idiot from the Jersey Shore even deserves to be alive?
Robocop
I can't stand Lisa Lampinelli.
Just watched the first episode of Game of Thrones. So far so good!THIS IS THE REASON I WISH I HAD HB-FUCKING-O!!!
"Half the people I know" = /b/
I'm surprised no one here is ranting and raving about the new My Little Pony series, unless I completely missed it. Seems half the people I know act like this show is the best thing since crack and sex. Maybe even better than crack and sex.
Best Christmas ever was when I got the stable. Didn't have a whole lotta ponies but the ones I had got a good home that year.damn yes the stable was the shiznit. I used it with my barbies too, it was huge. Did you have their bath? that was pimp, bubbles and all
Yes the My Little Pony show is amazing. I am totally hooked on this show and have tons of toy ponies now...
I'm watching ep 3 tonight. Can't wait.
Finished up seasons 1 & 2 Sons of Anarchy so now I'm :(, waiting for S3.
I'm watching ep 3 tonight. Can't wait.thoughts?
i can't wait for season3. You know after Jacks reads that letter all hell is gonna break loose!
My bad didnt mean to spoil you.i can't wait for season3. You know after Jacks reads that letter all hell is gonna break loose!
Do you mean S4? I've read spoilers, so I think I know what you're talking about. I don't have FX and I don't feel like watching episodes on my comp, so I have to wait for DVDs or Netflix streaming to see S3. Netflix only has the first two seasons.
I'm watching ep 3 tonight. Can't wait.thoughts?
I still like it. I can't put my mind on exactly what I didn't like about episode 3, bu there was something that seemed strange there. Looking forward to next weeks. Also, fuck cliffhangers, but I like them, too.
EDIT: I wonder if that's what it was. The ending. The first two episodes had something that seemed very important to the plot happen in the last seconds, the third one did not.
Nah, you didn't spoil anything. I'm curious about Game of Thrones through. Too bad Netflix will never stream it.

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Man Disney XD went and butchered the intro and the awesome theme song so they could tell kids what they already know. That this show has Iron Man, Thor and Captain America in it. I hope they restore the original theme when they put this on DVD.

WHAT?
The German version of that episode that everyone watched from the Internet still had the original theme.
Bravestar.
Bravestar.
thoughts?
I haven't watched Bravestarr since The Day, but...old-school He-Man is very popular with my 7 year-old niece. She's seen every episode twice, the movie several times, and has received MOTUC figures for Christmas.
I'll be damned you're right. Had to go get the box to chell and sure enough two Rs. Not that I doubted you...ok, yeah I did.
That's awesome. Why can't all kids be that cool?
That's awesome. Why can't all kids be that cool?
I nearly died when I dropped by one day and she had MOTUC He-Man in the doll house, lying in the bed under the covers...with Barbie. This precious, innocent child had absolutely no idea of the gratuitously inappropriate yet utterly hilarious thoughts instantly pelting my imagination at the mere sight of this scene. Good thing, too...she simply didn't understand why I had doubled-over from laughter and was unable to speak for several minutes. I think I scared her at first.
But, just as funny as that was the fact that Ken was lying face-down on the floor next to the bed. I asked why this was, and she told me quite matter-of-factly that He-Man had walked in, knocked him out, and went straight to bed.
You can't make this sort of thing up.
I, too, must applaud her awesomeness. Even children know that Ken doesn't belong in Barbie's bed.
:joe:
What is Secrets of the Dead?
I think I'll start watching game of thrones tonight. What took you so long?
Looney Tunes
So the Looney Tunes thing is ass? I noticed it the other day and immediately downloaded all the episodes but haven't watched any.
Like a sitcom, you say?
Hmm.
Remember Tazmania?
Down in Tazmania! Down in Tazmania!
Yo, Rama, heard any of the Riff Tracks stuff yet?
He probably has but wouldn't he need a strong connection to dl them? I've listened to a handful of them, X-Men, Predator, and Lord of the Rings. It was more miss than hit.
Tosh.O
Exactly. Tosh is basically Bob Saget, and everyone hated Bob Saget on AFHV. Why is Tosh treated differently?
Rewatching the Game of Thrones. The best show you fuckers aren't watching.
Read them. I've heard they are very good. I intend to read them when I finish the Pern series.
Ugh. I'm so fucking gun shy about starting new sci-fi series.Unless you had a nelson's box on your tv or there was some way they could measure whether you were watching or not, then no.
"Oops, sorry. It wasn't popular enough, so... CANCELED. Oh, you liked it? Ah well."
And yes, I realize I may be contributing to that outcome by not watching, but whatever.
Don't listen to her! Get away while you ca PINKYPIE 4EVER!FUCK PINKYPIE THAT ADHD SPEED-ADDICTED WHORE! FLUTTERSHY AND TWILIGHT FOREVER BITCHES! *beats self to death with sledgehammer*

His name would be Thundercock. What's his cutie mark? A dick with a lightning bolt behind it?
I'm watching GAME OF MOTHAFUCKIN THRONES!
Stop what you're doing and watch it...now!
You were all right.
Star Trek:TNG
Netflix demands I watch the whole series till my eyes bleed.

You AND Merla apparently.
I've been watching a lot of stand-up. Steve Byrne, Craig Ferguson, and George Carlin. Tried watching some with Aisha Tyler and Monique or whatever he name is and them bitches ain't funny. A lot of screaming. Just screaming.
Not really. It's an HBO show, the examples you gave are all network shows. Very different audience.
Not really. It's an HBO show, the examples you gave are all network shows. Very different audience.
I don't know. I'm sure some people watched shows like Sex in the City, Sopranos, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Walking Dead for the same reason and all of those are cable shows as well. I wouldn't discount the need to belong.
I'm not saying these shows aren't good...it takes all kinds, and all kinds like different things. I'm sure some of the audience of the New BSG where like that as well, were as I actually liked the show.
I gave up on True Blood this year. Tired of the show sucking and dreading having to watch another episode.
Okay, it's time to stop talking about True Blood with words like suck, sucked, sucking, and sucker.
All puns are awful, always. There are no exceptions.
Ever.
var·letNoun/ˈvärlət/
1. A man or boy acting as an attendant or servant.
Varmint maybe...no, that's a small pest like animals.
It would be like if you were asking what Lost was about, and I said a bunch of people crash land on a mysterious tropical island where almost none of your questions were answered, and you were like, "What? Boo!"
I'm obviously doing an awful job selling you on Breaking Bad, because I don't want to give it all away, but the protagonist runs up against all kinds of horrible shit and it turns him into a complete badass.
And I think that's what people like most about the show.
looks like his super cop bother-in-law might take that role.
Wait, are you talking like Yoda?
DS9 is my favorite of the next gen Star Trek Series, but OT will always be my favorite.FUCK YOU RAMA!... sorry I hadn't said it in a while.
I finally finished watching Batman: The Brave and the Bold tonight. What an awesome, bizarre way to end the series.
Can we drop Goth Rogue? I miss that happy chick in the yellow and green tights? Remember her?
Oh, also caught some of the new Sons of Anarchy eps. I hope Juice doesn't die. :(
If he does kill anybody it'll probably be Juice.
After watching tonights Young Justice I think it's time to call this show a dud. I mean how do you ruin the Joker?
Made you chuckle you say? When pray tell did that happen? The only clever line was when he mocked Dr Fate. That is who he mocked right? I've forgotten already.
The Justice League just seems like it would be a nightmare to write for. Nothing seems realistic when you have an army of superheros. I mean it kind of went down the way I thought it would "Oh cops are here! Game Over!" why didn't they just do that from the beginning? Because then we'd have no episode.
There is only so much super crime being done and it isn't organized the way that the league is organized. Hmmm...in some small respect YJ does make sense because a group of supervillains working from the shadows is really the only way to oppose an army of heroes.
Have any of you read the comics? Did they really have the ability to just teleport heroes to wherever? It seems like you can go in and overkill any sort of crime (super or otherwise) that's happening in the scenario.
For shits and giggles if you look up a movie called sinbad and the minotaur or some shit you will see Crixus doing some really shitty acting.
Anyone watch Talking Dead? If AMC is so worried about saving a dime why waste it on that shit? And when did Chris Hardwick become the go to guy to host all things nerdy? I know he host The Nerdist but jesus fuck! Enough of this guy already! The talking didn't bug me. It's the stopping to take a moment to cry that did. I only watched one episode. Holy fuck get some canned goods and bunker up your fucking house. No one survived an apocalypse standing still in a park crying at a fucking gimp zombie, you stupid bitch.
Well you won't have to worry about seeing his face anymore :(
What exactly are they gonna do with Spartacus now that Spartacus is well...dead?

I'll assume you meant Spartacus. And I haven't been keeping up either, I just read news and shit at work so I had read that he had died and was already recasted.
Dude I didn't know Clean House was on Netflix. I could watch and stalk Trish all day.
They did a Spartacus marathon after Andy Whitfield died? That seems really fucking tasteless.
On the one hand, they could say it's a tribute. On the other hand, it's probably a little more like, "Hey, Andy's death is all over the news! This is a great opportunity to pull in more viewers!"
Gross.
Is that what kept you watching Camelot?
Did you watch all of Camelot?
I watched the first episode and I was like, "Man, Eva Green: Yup. Everything else: Nope."

I saw the Roast of Charlie Sheen. Mike Tyson had no subtitles so I just fast-forwarded through that shit.
I'll tell you what I'm not watching, and that's anything on fox in the past 2 weeks. Also I'm not watching the fucking World Series. Baseball is SO FUCKING BORING!!!
Re: SOA. See ya, Piney. Why did him and Tara shit around with those letters? The first thing they should've done was shown them to Jax and the rest of the club. Why sit on this crap, especially if you believe Clay killed JT? (Because that means he'll kill just about anybody!)
So much so that series creator and executive producer Kurt Sutter says the Season 4 finale may feel like a series-ender. (Fear not: FX renewed the show for a fifth season last week.) Perlman agrees with Sutter's assessment.
"I'm actually blown away by the fact that we are in Season 4 and we're doing s--- that I only imagined would be dealt with when we were winding everything up," Perlman says. "I can't believe that [Sutter] has the chutzpah to deal with this now and feels that's there plenty of room to top this. He's reshuffling the deck and changing the dynamic of everything. We have the best of all possible worlds here: We have something incredibly climatic, and then we have room for the reinvention of the saga."
Are you serious? Gurrrrl they go in hard on this week's episode. You NEED to watch it!
Are you serious? Gurrrrl they go in hard on this week's episode. You NEED to watch it!
Well... if you say so I suppose I must.
He wants you to change the title of the thread.
Just watched the end of BTBaB.
Egad, this week's Sons of Anarchy! I can't wait to see how the season ends. I wonder what's going to go down in the special 90 min ep next week. Also, another episode added to season. Kurt Sutter sd the next season's gonna be like a reboot, so... yeah, definetely looking like Clay's gonna die and we'll have a new Prez. Still won't be surprised to see Unser chell out. Re: Gemma's order to Unser that it's gotta be a Son that kills Clay, I can't help but think that Sutter's gonna surprise us and neither Jax (or Opie for that matter since he seems to be a popular guess) is going to be the one to do in Clay. Wouldn't be shocked if it were Tig, Bobby, or even Otto (if Clay ends up back in the klink).
Watching a movie called "I Eat Your Skin.", but there is no skin eating at all. In fact there is hardly anything going on other then a bunch of lushes running from Zombies. And not the "uhhhhhhhhhhhh Brains!" kind, but the Voodoo kind.
It was an intense episode, and obviously the manifestations of that will play out. It’s why I think Episode 11 [airing next Tuesday] ended up being 90 minutes. I organically had to have people respond and react. You’ll see the ramifications that it has on Jax, as he sees Gemma, and on the rest of the club. Things will continue to spiral downward, in terms of the relationships within the club. We’ve released some of the tension in terms of going after Tara — she is being guarded by the Prospects, so at least that threat is somewhat diminished — but the emotional impact continues. I don’t think there’ll be a lot of laughter in the next three or four episodes, but perhaps people will breathe a little bit.
Is it cool if I post some NSFW stuff on here?
Cause I'm watching: Chubby pale chick goes hardcore
on spankwire.
Re: Sons of Anarchy, this interview (http://www.tvline.com/2011/11/sons-anarchy-kurt-sutter-season-4-episode-10-hands/) was an interesting read:Quote from: Kurt Sutter, creator of SOAIt was an intense episode, and obviously the manifestations of that will play out. YJ is getting better. Just like all shows iron out the rough spots usually while the nuris call them crap before they hit their stride.
Reboot was way better when they time skipped forward as well.Ugh. I hated season 3 of Reboot. "Matrix" all hardcore and shit. I fucking hated him every second he was on screen. And they "Hey I was a little girl now I'm a big sexy pr0n star" thing was retarded.
KOZIK!!!!!!!!!!W`erp3fm;lgm;.. :nurinono:
Cut him some slack, milady.
Dude is pushing 40.
Hey, guys! I found a super-cute pic of that time IDE met Mark Hamill.
Watched SNL with Jason Segal. It was alright, I guess. Hulu didn't seem to have whatever the digital short was this weekend for whatever stupid reason.Hulu seems to cut the show for time for some stupid reason.
I tried Breaking Bad and Burn Notice and was turned off by the first few minutes. Breaking Bad just has a dull beginning and I may give that another chance down the line but Burn Notice was goddamn irritaing. That guy was like the spy version of Flynn Rider. I couldn't stomach it past ten minutes. Am I supposed to want to punch Jeffrey Donovan repeatedly in the face? I also tried an episode of White Collar and found that to be very good. I'll stick with this one.
Brr! (http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/15835017)
RE: Sons of Anarchy- Well damn...didn't see that coming.
Tell me you love me.
I'm thinking Tera might try to kill herself or something. What did Romeo do? I'm surprised he's still alive.
Doesn't make sense that he's working with the feds. They have Juice. Unless Juice is apart of the back plan or a separate operation. And where's this "another board" you speak of?

413 "TO BE" act 1, we dig into the past. 414 "TO BE" act 2, we lay track to the future. the prince, the queens, the kings.
Oh, and Tera's not dead yet? Seriously, that bitch has to go. I stopped watching True Blood this year and one of the main reasons I couldn't stand it anymore was an entire season of "Eeeeeeeeggs. Oh Eeeeeeeeeggs" QQ "Waaaaaaah, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeggs."
Bitch Sookie's grandma died and she sucked it up and popped her tits out, now get some super powers or die already.

Usually these SyFy originals are shit, but this one is pretty good so far. Course it still has time to go to shit.
Watching Grimm. I don't really like the main character that much but his "werewolf" sidekick is fun to watch.
How can there be two shows about fairy tales come to life on at the same time. There are like 100 law enforcement procedurals. 50 sitcoms about a fat man and his attractive wife. Two of something is nothing.
I've been watching New Girl...
It's not that funny ... but somehow I've watched every episode.
When Rimmer left it wasn't nearly as funny. The back and forth between him and Lister was pretty much the heart of that series and when he left it was lacking. Course they brought him back, but it would never be the same as it was.
I'm watching the old 1940s live action jungle book, which I didn't know existed.
I'm watching the old 1940s live action jungle book, which I didn't know existed.
It's pretty awesome, actually.
Has anyone watched Desert Punk? I watched the first five minutes and then stopped, but then I thought, maybe it doesn't suck. Anyone know?
I've seen both. Both are pretty meh.
speaking of the brits, the new Sherlock movies are pretty damn good. Well, the first and the third episodes/movies are fucking awesome. The second one is just ok.
Rewatching Mighty Boosh with 20 yr old.
If you've never seen it you're a fool.
I can tell you what I'm *not* watching. Community.
Damn you, NBC.
I read that when it comes back, it might be on a different night, which can sometimes signal the beginning of the end.
And Adam liking a show is a pretty consistent harbinger.I actually don't watch Community, which is probably why it's still on.
Coming soon to Adult Swim or soon to be cancelled by FOX.
That one's been making the rounds. Quality.
The Death and Return of Superman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PlwDbSYicM)
I saw a trailer for Alcatraz on youtube and decided I'm never gonna watch that show
A master's degree in what exactly?
Being obnoxious? Buh-zing!
Don't answer that, it was rhetorical.
I tell ya, this guy, if he isn't fucking, he's shitting.
King of Kings.
I poop twice a day on average.
That wouldn't happen...because he might run the chance of a finger in the ass. Even if it is on it's way out, instead of in.
Alcatraz is all right but I just don't like procedurals. The girl is hot and Hurley is cool. I'll watch it until it gets canceled...
"Some say he once punched a horse to the ground....all we know is he is called The Stig."
I love me some Top Gear.
Watched half an ep of the new spartacus season...didn't like it.Unless a show has like 6 episodes, it will almost certainly change writers.
I wonder if they changed writers.

I really miss John Hannah this season though, the Batiatus character really made the show for me. i don't give a crap about Sparty and his slave rebellion.
Why didn't you like it?
Wow. they have full episodes of MST3k on youtube? Have any suggestions?
Just watched the season finale of Spartacus.
Overall I thought it was the weakest season so far and they're definitely starting to take some major liberties with historical fact. But damn, that final episode was one of the best hours of tv ever
Toonami is that you?
Prince of Space is a good one. The Fugitive Alien movies...Space Mutiny, Manos, Pod People, Cave Dwellers, The Day the Earth Froze, Teen-Age Strangler, Outlaw, Laserblast...
I could really go on like that all day.

I remember that episode. That was when Worf whipped it out for her.
Everyone is watching game of thrones right?I just haven't gotten around to watching it. My wife is retarded for it though.
Except adam probably hates it which just proves how awesome it is...
or even adam likes it which just proves how awesome it is.
Now make a gif of Steelwill feeling up his sister.
...And her feeling him feeling what she's feeling as he's feeling her.
Dated because of the animation or other reasons?I was mostly speaking to the animation. There's no question the CG is not what we have today, but for it's time I'm pretty impressed. I can't play a 3D rendered video game from the day, but the show is still watchable so there's that.
Other aspects are a bit dated. For example in the opening 2 parter they seem to transform 2 to 3 times per episode. Seems like a ploy to sell toys. They may still do that in shows, but it's not as overt.

I watched Beast Wars since Netflix has it on stream now and I like how the CG doesn't feel dated to me at all. It feels like it was a conscious artistic choice to make it look that way and not that the technology at the time was limited. And, kinda related to the 'ploy to sell toys' comment, it did that thing I hate where the characters are all "call me cheetor" "call me rattrap" and I'm all "why not just use whatever your name was before?" And I lol'ed because I completely erased the existence of Terrorsaur. COMPLETELY. I was all "who the fuck's that red bird thing" and realized he was nuked from my brain's archives.
Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes.
This has to be my favorite toon on right now. Sadly there is a rumor going around that they are gonna cancel it. Not cause it has bad rating, because it doesn't, and not cause people hate it, because they love it, but because they want a show more in line with the new Ultimate Spider-Man show. Which they already got rid of Spectacular Spider-Man, which was really good too, to make room for it. I hope that just stays a rumor and we get a season 3.
NO.
Sadly, the rumors are true: there will be no season 3. The rating are just too low (though I'm convinced part of that is scheduling and it airing on a less than universal network). That on top of them delaying the US airing of new episodes until the 24th fill me with irrational fury. I love this show, and I generally don't care for Marvel stuff. Time to go download all those wonderful Australian episodes.....
80's lava is so much better then the lava we have today.Yes but Beast Wars had prehistoric lava.
Question about the Hulk: which is more acceptably canon - a wimpy scaredy-cat Banner or a mild-mannered but serious-business Banner?
Hulk Vs. is on streaming but I only saw the Wolverine portion because I don't give a rat's ass about Thor. Maybe if I find the Thor movie watchable (because that's there now as well) I'll go back to it. The Wolverine portion was still kinda dull though. It didn't get interesting until Deadpool showed up. Question about the Hulk: which is more acceptably canon - a wimpy scaredy-cat Banner or a mild-mannered but serious-business Banner? Not that I see a lot of stuff with the Hulk in it but this Hulk Vs. thing had the former and I was just wondering because I'm certain I've also seen something a while back with the latter.
However, the general premise sucks. The show's supposed to be about a guy in 2030 telling his two teenage kids about how he met their mother back in the present. The problem is he's been doing this for 6-7 seasons already and has yet to explain how exactly he met her mother.
Have any of you guys watched the new Charlie Sheen series? I heard it had good reviews. I want to watch it, 2 and a half men was fucking hilarious
Haa I knewww i would be able to use this pic sometime
What trope is that? Nekkid Foghorn Leghorn?Daffy Duck, too.
I've been waiting for Season 2 to stream on Netflix. Waiting and hoping.I picked up every episode on Demonoid, but I've only watched the first two. I'll finish the third one tomorrow night. Good stuff.
Breaking Bad on Sunday nights. Sucks that it goes on year-long hiatus next week.
I couldn't stand Alphas. Decent concept but it was just a procedural with guys with shitty super powers and a magical retard, the worst kind of character.
Well, more like ten months, I suppose.
I can't believe they fucking killed him. Jax has to go war with Pope now. This season is going to be great!
In weird SoA related news, The actor who played Half Sack was found dead and he also may have murdered an elderly woman.

I saw the new Turtles show.
Not as terrible as I was expecting.
I remember the original Turtles show was pretty awful too. The only enjoyment I ever got from the franchise was the first NES game
I saw the new Turtles show.
Not as terrible as I was expecting.
I watched part of a little training session video and it made me want to jump off the edge of the world and see the turtles all the way down.
- April being made into a little girl, a love interest, given a typical oh-no-my-scientist-daddy-eez-in-danger plotline? Didn't care for it. Why the hell couldn't April have been the scientist they wanted to kidnap? Why would she have to be a little girl? I don't care if Donny has a crush or whatever. And I don't hate Mae Whitman or anything, but I think they should've casted someone else.

I think they did that just so she would be the same age as Donnie, because having a mutated turtle wanting to bone a human woman is ok...but a huge age difference would have been gross.
I would have much rather April been a person more importance. Either the news reporter that helps the turtles while trying to cover up that they exist, or in some other role.
I'll watch again too, but my track record with Sat. morning cartoons on Nick hasn't been great. See Legend of Korra for an example.

What I saw of it was Ok...not bad, but not amazing either. I've seen better shows. I wouldn't, however, turn down the chance to see the whole thing. But I stopped watching mainly because I couldn't catch the show on Sat. morning and they didn't do repeats except on Sun morning at the same time. So I just fell out of watching the series.
I think you might've been disappointed if you had seen the whole thing. I'm gonna say so because I don't think you care that much about a little spoilage but...

...the entire Amon thing was a cheat. They cram his back story into the second to the last episode. They never tell you how he does what he does or even why other than his daddy was a colossal dick. The equalist movement is never given legitimate treatment. In a move that produced massive head-desk, Amon did end up taking Korra's bending but she cried at the end of the series and Aang gave it back. She doesn't even defeat him. She blows him out the window with some air and he gets away from ALL of the good guys. Then he, like, sheds a tear and dies. I think there might've been a few things you would've enjoyed about it on the whole, but I have a feeling the entire Amon thing would've bothered you considering the potential he had.
I've just about decided that the Enterprise is basically a giant taxi cab, except this taxi also has people that live inside it.
Well I think you got me pegged because that doesn't sound awesome at all. The whole point of putting a character in a mask to take that mask off and reveal who he really is, and for that to have some effect on the characters of the story. Amon was my favorite character from what I saw, and you really wanted to see that big fight at the end with Korra and then to deprived of that sounds like a let down.
I'd still probably watch it, but it would have to be with someone else if they offered to watch it or something. Not likely I'd search it out on my own and wouldn't stick with it if there wasn't someone else there to keep watching it that I could talk to them about after the episode was over.
Anyway, I've been rewatching some G.I.Joe A Real American Hero, but now I'm coming to the end and realize I need to pick up those last two box sets.

Have you seen Avatar: The Last Airbender? Because if you haven't I'd rather you'd watch that one. I like Korra but TLA is the superior of the two. And the entire thing's on DVD and Netflix streaming.

I started it but got sort of bored after the first ep.

Well they do reveal who he is and it is actually played as a surprise but it still felt like a giant let-down. For example: Amon's backstory was a lie to gain sympathy and support, just like you thought it was. Now you would think a mastermind like Amon would've actually burned his face to gain credibility. That's the move of an intelligent, committed villain intent on making people believe and follow him. Instead, Amon used makeup to fake a firebending scar that washed right off with water. Just a bunch of shit like that that felt really lazy and took away from the character and the story as a result.

I've been watching that on Netflix and never realized how little Snake Eyes actually comes out. I remember him being a more prominent character but he really wasn't. And Lifeline actually comes a out a lot. Ew.

Yeah but taking off the mask to reveal he is someone we don't know isn't much of a reveal. I guess that's what I mean. I mean if Darth Vader said "Luke....I am some guy Obi-Wan use to know." it really wouldn't have made much impact. When Amon took off that mask it needed to be someone we already knew. Either from TLA (which would be lost one me, but not you.) or someone we knew from the series as whole. To know this guy had been doing this the whole time and then question of why could be asked and then answered. Eh....
It's Season 2 because he comes in with Sgt. Slaughter, Beach Head, Dial-Tone, Leatherneck and a bunch of other new Joes when Cobra creates that bunghole Serpentor. Because, you know, who needs more Spirit, Snake Eyes, and Shipwreck when we can have episodes starring such memorable Joes as Wet Suit, Sci-Fi and Low Light?
I always think of my old supe back the law office-thingy I used to temp at when I see some mention about Dexter. *pinches nose to talk like Lisa* "OMG I LOVVVVVE DEXTER." Then go marry him and then let him fuckin' kill you. Hyuck. *snort*
I'd never seen Dexter before but I caught like 10 minutes of it the other day. They had this one cop on that looked like a cartoon character. I mean that literally. He looked like Bullock or the cop from Bonkers. People take this show seriously? It's a little more Parks and Rec than I expected, and I mean that to say it is detached from reality.
I didn't expect anything really, but I expect the show to take place in reality. The naration is irrelevant. I don't believe the visuals of the show are meant to be recreated based on the perception and reinterpretation of this mad man. I can perfectly accept a weird narration juxtaposed to real events.I'd never seen Dexter before but I caught like 10 minutes of it the other day. It's narrated from the mind of a serial killer who is killing other killers. Would you expect it to be grounded in logic?

I did try Walking Dead. Decent show and I see why people like it. I'm personally not a zombie-person so I'm not sure I'll continue to tune in. We'll see, I guess.
Sons of Anarchy is a pretty good show too.
I like how the writer seems to try to have everyone from the Shield guest star at least once. Last week's guest bit by Walton Goggins was hilarious.
It's a breast form aka a boob plate. They sell different ones of varying qualities of course. You can get ones that secure around the neck with velcro (but you need a necklace for those to hide the seam) or you can get ones that stick to your chest (which is likely the one Walt Goggins had on). And then you use make-up to blend it to your skin tone and hide the seam. Here's an example: http://www.thebreastformstore.com/breast-forms-real-breasts-pro.aspx For over a cool grand, I don't imagine a lot of drag queens would be inclined to have several sets unless they were bringing in really good dough. (Because they also need that money for make-up, clothes, shoes, etc.) A lot of the RuPaul queens use the necklace ones (big boobs and a necklace on? yup), use tape and make-up to create the illusion of breasts, stuff their bras, some combo of the last two, or just go flat (like Raja).
Here's an example of the one you secure around your neck, pricey but cheaper than the other one I linked above and look more like the boobs you'd see a lot on Drag Race: http://www.dragqueenboobs.com/how-to-order.html
there's no fucking way those boobs in "B" cup are b cup. I'm a B cup and I'm definitely bigger
OMG NOT THAT ONE you commented on! i look soooooo fat i can't believe i thought I looked good :'( maybe then i thought i looked good since it was just months after giving birth but not anymore
brb throwing all my carbs in the trash
TV-Nihon is subbing it, but their release schedule is pretty sporadic.
Now I want to say I don't hate anime. I do like it. It is just that it is really hit or miss and most of it is miss these days. Even ones I really like like Fullmetal, or Cowboy BeBop still don't hold me over long periods of time. Anime just isn't something I go looking for new ones to try. If someone says "Oh this is pretty good. You might like it." I might give it a try if I can find easy. It just not something I go out of my way to find anymore.
I've only seen a little of Kamen Rider stuff and it was way back in the 90s, so I don't know much about that series. Didn't much care for what I saw though.
I try to keep tabs on new anime, if it's visually striking, or the premise sounds somehow unique or interesting, I'll give it a shot. More often than not I won't go beyond the first episode.
None of it clicks with me anymore, and I'm fine with that.
The Pirate thing really doesn't come into play all that much actually. I mean they have pirate themed costumes and mechs, but it is really all about using past teams powers.
Don't tell me you're going to become a Whovian.
And with that I mean that as a viewer you've been rooting the whole time for a main character who's basically an extremely violent criminal but you're forgiving because he seems to act out of honorable motives.
I got a feeling that illusion will be yanked away at the end
Don't tell me you're going to become a Whovian.
That illusion shouldn't be messed with though because the whole "seems to act out of honorable motives" is an important part of his character. In a show about a bunch of villains, he's supposed to be the less "villainy" one. It's what drives multiple conflicts in the story. All messing with that dynamic did was make me not care as much about the main character anymore because it makes him the same as everyone else in the club so you can root for any of them now because it doesn't make a difference. And since it doesn't make a difference, that means I have no reason to care or watch anymore because everyone's on equal footing. Care care care difference same because. This all made much more sense in my head.
I girl-crushed on Jadzia Dax, so annoyed when she "died".
The following is based on my viewing of all of TNG and the first two seasons of DS9, which was no longer shown in my area at that point (http://www.shwiggie.com/boards/emoticons/atch.gif)
Both the Bajoran mains bugged me...Kira and Ro were douchebags. If they were representative of their people, the Federation should have let Cardassia keep the friggin' planet. Conversely, the Cardassians were lots of fun.
I rate the revival Doctor Who (9th to 11th doctors) primary companions as follows.
1. Donna Noble - She was a funny, awesome ginger who added the best real-world perspective to shit. I miss her. And how she was written out of the series. Argh. As they say on tumblr: my FEEEEELSS.
2. Rose Tyler - Not so much for her character as much as the chemistry she had with 9 and 10. I think she meshed better with her Doctors than Martha and Amy.
3. Martha Jones - I like her on her own better than I like Rose but I think the character suffered having to crush on the Doctor after Rose. And this whole "Imma doctor so blah blah" haughty attitude she'd sometimes have reminded me of everything I don't like about real non-Doctor Who doctors.
4. Amy Pond - She's a cute girl but that accent kills me in a bad way sometimes. However, what really gets me is how Mary Sue she comes off to me. When she appears, suddenly everything revolves around her: the girl who waited with the crack on her wall and who gives birth to Melody Pond who blah blah blah. She almost takes over the narrative from the Doctor at times and I'm all "nooo, I watch for the Doctor". Also, she's paired up with pathetic Rory, who I just want to smack in the face with a cinderblock. Just that look on his face makes me want to smack him. He doesn't even have to say anything.
The End.
I don't buy into the browncoats (Firefly fans) thing of saying that Serenity was no problem for non-Firefly viewers to get into. You had to give a crap about the people first before it really meant anything. It was by no means stand-alone.
The pilot of Firefly is the real measure of whether you'll like it or not. It was a two-parter that introduced everyone and their relationships and set the tone. If you're not on-board with that, then there's no point in the rest.

Local anime club's last meeting of the year, and they don't show anime. Huh.They showed more than just Korra. They also showed some anime. And Live Action Sailor Moon. Okay, so that last one doesn't help my argument.
Live action movies from anime should not existGoddamnit I just found on youtube the Versailles no Bara live action movie and it SUCKS of course.
Have you seen all the eps so far? I saw two and didn't think it was awful, but couldn't bring myself to stick with it.

I loved all of those Cartoon Network shows. Back when the old analog satellite receiver was still functional, I would just leave Cartoon Network on 24/7. It didn't matter what I was doing, CN was playing in the background at all times. Those were the good old days. You were watching CN when you were little while I was watching bitches gettin slashed in Saint Seiya and tittays in Cobra
When I was little? :laugh:Definitely not in your twenties... early thirties?
Lady, how old do you think I am?
Wait...you weren't a minor back in the day? Wow. Now those memories are less special now that I know we were not corrupting a youth.

In television, "procedural" specifically refers to a genre of programs in which a problem is introduced, investigated and solved all within the same episode. These shows tend to be hour-long dramas, and are often (though not always) police or crime related.

precious
Cop or law shows there basically just show you the process of this profession. Law and Order, the Mentalist, CSI and all those types of shows. They end up doing the same thing a lot of the time if you watch a lot of them, which I don't even do. Whatever solution to the case they have 45 minutes in is wrong. The killer/culprit is usually an unimportant character revealed around the 15 minute point, often someone outside of their pay grade. "Oh look, Rider Strong has a single line in this show. He's coming back. He's the killer."House is a very standard procedural only with doctors instead of cops/lawyers. Yeah...she's having a clit fit for House.
Been watching some of the crowning ceremonies today.me too. i hate it even more after being in London. I just cant understand how a "first world country" (I know the term doesnt exist but you know what i mean) will still have monarchs, people that have all this powet just cause their moms sucked the right dick/ inbred the right dick
God, I hate the monarchy.

Who got crowned?
It's hardly any at all. http://m.guardiannews.com/world/2002/may/16/qanda.jubileenigga you best be joking. 35m pounds in 2001? pocket change, just some biscuits and chips
goddamnit for some reason I cant stop watching these videos
Beans and wieners.
God damn it, wrong thread!
I eat beans and wieners... far more often than I should.
Am I going to die? :(

This will surely compel Fiero to read my book.
The vids Rumble posts have been gold though. Look for more of that.
It's a general rule to not watch things Faye posts.that was..... COLD AS ICE
The vids Rumble posts have been gold though. Look for more of that.
What vid was that?
Unless it was just to be all "I don't like it cause everyone else likes it", I could see that.
Tom must have been one bland fucker. I watched that show a lot and I don't remember him...and even after I looked up the IMDB I still didn't know him...then I looked up a picture and I still don't remember him. Must not have made much of an impression on me.
Saw the Buffy the Vampire Slayer ep where Quark gets eaten by the mayor. Forgot how mind-numbingly stupid that death was.Joss Whedon is so great at building up but almost always falls flat with the big ending. That was the worst case of it.
I think some people here will be excited about this:

I forgot what the first cartoon was called, it was some kind of sf show where they fought these car/plant/machines. No idea anymore what the plot was about, but those things looked cool.Sounds like 80's Beast Machines :D
Probably Jaycee and the Wheeled Warriors.
Probably Jaycee and the Wheeled Warriors.
My gf bought me a dvd of the Dangerous Brothers, which is basically a couple of sketches of Richie and Eddie doing their usual act. I had never seen these before, so I had fun watching them.Young Hugh Laurie is such a boner killer :/
Just for Faye, here's the sketch with Hugh Laurie in it:

Well it was Stuart Little Hugh Laurie.

I'd watch that movie and I never watched the original Stuart Little.Well it was Stuart Little Hugh Laurie.
I just pictured House... as a mouse. A reeeeal bitchy one.
Yeah...they like adopted a mouse and yeah Geena Davis was in it. I'll do you one better. Not only have I seen Stuart Little...I've seen the sequel as well.
But, oh wait, hollywood audiences don't want to see cocks, they want to see BOOBS.I count myself among this group.
Farscape
Farscape
Fuck yeah!
Farscape
Fuck yeah!
The show holds up, but man with them showing it Mon-Fri instead of weekly this thing is moving at a break neck pace. Zhan has already left and Ugh...Jool has shown up.
Ra's al-Ghul figures into season two. They introduce his daughter (not Talia), Black Canary, Flash and Suicide Squad.
They've been showing Independence Day on cable every couple of days and I ain't complaining, that movie is awesome.
Have to confess Jeff Goldblum is in my "I would bang and then deny it" list.
He is so weird, but in a good way. Did you read his AMA on reddit? You could practically hear his "uhmm dmmm" while he typed
Honestly, I probably would bang him as well.
Daaamn he looks jewish as hell now that he's older. His nose has gotten huge too. He looks good for his age tho
No way that bitch is one year older than me, she looks like at least in her 40s
Wander over Yonder grows on you. It's a real WTF at first, but I like it.
But Gravity Falls is the bomb. It felt like a funny animated X-Files.
Does her show often have that many cameos, or was this a special occasion?
ugh....I hate Adventure Time.
I thank you not to compare those two if you please.
Speaking of Muppets, did anyone attempt to watch the new show last week?
It can't be killed soon enough.
Also, He-Man was mentioned. Watching He-Man now is hilarious to me. Still entertaining, but for different reasons.
I can just watch Hey Arnold all day long
Batman animated series will stand forever as a timeless piece of television programming. There aren't that many regular TV shows that are better than this.
It's been a while, but I have nothing but fond memories of B:TAS. I can't speak for the show in its entirety, but those early episodes were certainly very mature in their presentation, especially for the time.
The girlfriend is slamming through GOT. She's on season 5 after like two weeks. So, not watching much else than that while she's catching up.
Lawd is Legends of Tomorrow a shitty show.
Lawd is Legends of Tomorrow a shitty show.
What makes it shit? Do you watch Flash and Arrow? I think I recall you watch Arrow but I'm not sure about Flash. It ties into those, right?
Everything is over-dramatized these days.
Holmes on Homes use to be like that....but then it became all about what a scum bag the guy who did the work before was and how many tears can we jerk out by using false sentiment.
I find the majority of home design I see on television to be totally unrealistic for normal Americans. You'll be watching something that looks like something someone might actually build and then, bam, here comes the weird stuff. "Oh, here's a room that's nothing but windows." That's really practical. Not. "You need to have a tiki hearth in your living room." What the CHOP?
I was wondering if I should get on board with Mr. Robot. I guess that's a no go.
Also, Stranger Things. Really liked that, but I was bound to because it really tugs at those '80s kid heartstrings. Part of me wishes it had been longer, but the pragmatist in me knows that probably would have just meant needless filler and tangential storylines for side characters. I'm curious if they'll do another series.
I just finished watching Jessica Jones last week. What a waste of a decent premise. It would have been much better not to mention far more satisfying if it was half as long.
None of the Daredevil episodes ever felt like filler, as I recall.
I would watch more sports if I could do it without the proliferation of commentators. All they need is a play-by-play announcer.
Remember when they hired Dennis Miller to commentate Monday Night Football, presumably in order to grow their viewership?
I'm still waiting for the superhero TV bubble to burst.
It's gotta happen, right?
Soon.
Please, God.
Kind of? It's pretty saturated already. Although I guess without them we'd be left with the eternal cop dramas and doctor dramas.
Tried watching the new Lemony Snicket series on Netflix
I just finished watching Red Dwarf XI. It was actually pretty decent. I feel like I enjoyed it more than the two previous series, which were kind of iffy. XI is a return to form, and I hope XII follows suit.
I'll be honest, I can't even remember what happened in X, I just recall being pissed off about it for some reason.
Might have just been in a bad mood when I watched it.
I heard it was absolutely blacktastic in response to last year's kerfuffle.
Finished Iron Fist. I didn't think it was that bad. Had some slow spots, sure, but it's not like it turned into a total schlockfest in its second half like Luke Cage. But then again I'm one of the white devils, so don't take my word for it.
Started iZombie. Been meaning to watch this forever and I finally managed to get into it. I remember reading the comic, but this seems to be a pretty loose take. Turned it into a procedural drama because of course they did. I don't know. Seems okay so far.
New Twin Peaks stuff. It's much more Lynchian than the original Twin Peaks was, which of course might be a good or a bad thing depending on your POV.Shit its out already? I want to watch the original and then the new ones right after!
I've never watched anything Twin Peaks. Is the new stuff on regular TV or something?
BTW, since I know what sports fans you guys are, State won both must-win games of the doubleheader against the Mustard Buzzards to advance to the super regional of the college world series.
I remember trying to watch the Netflix Arrested Development. What the hell. It looks so brutally cheap and haphazard. That fucking wig they stuck on Portia de Rossi. Jesus Christ.Portia de Rossi looks fucked up but not only from that wig, also from the anorexia and the million plastic surgeries she has had.
I'll never go back!
It wasn't Bernie?Oh maybe thats who it was!
I remember seeing the first episode of that show and getting that feeling. As I don't have teh love for teh Mulder like you and my sis do, I immediately dropped the show after that.Good for you. The ending SUCKED, the whole last season sucked ass tbh. Im so glad its over. Im this close from unfollowing DD on IG, thats how mad I am
[I added in spoiler space here because it just occurred to me that I don't know how far into the series you are.]I read the spoiler after scrolling all the way down and then paging up. Oh, well, I didn't know for sure what they were going to do, but I'm not surprised as the Klingaren'ts hate her about as much as I do. They did their dead-level best to make the character unlikeable, so it figures.
I don't think the live-action counterparts look bad, but why didn't they bite the bullet and make the guys that were blond blond? Even with a shitty wig or something? It just would have looked better visually.Well Tamaki was "strawberry blonde" in the live series, so theres that. No blue/purple eyes tho. I think they did it to appeal more to the japanese public. I guess its the same reason Winry has brown hair in the FMA live action movie. (Hawkeye is still blonde tho ).
You reminded me that I need to remove Call the Midwife from my Netflix queue. I actually need to remove a lot of stuff out of my queue. But I haven't been in my queue in, like, forever.
I liked how you posted this in FUCKING REBOOTS because fuck this reboot but also fuck this Reboot and also fuck this reboot of Reboot. It works on so many different levels.
I guess after new Voltron and now this Netflix, is on a roll. They can make my life complete now with a new Xena Warrior Princess show. Xena will be a hot, air-headed piece of jailbait and it'll take place in a posh highschool. Think Harry Potter meets Percy Jackson meets Saved by the Bell meets Fresh Prince of Bel-Air meets Clueless. Being a teenager isn't easy, yo! Especially when you gots to save the world in time and made it back to class in time for Heronomics 101.
Ugh. I gave up on Agents of Shield a long time ago. When Ghost Rider came in it was pretty cool, but I'd have rather just had a Ghost Rider show.....as long as it wasn't Car Rider.
I'm kinda having the same problem, but I have been listening to the stand up channel on Pandora. That, however, repeats the same stuff to much.
I just finished the first season of Star Trek discovery and I have no idea why they did what they did to the Klingons. I mean every other race looks the same. The Andorians, The Vulcans, The Andorians, all look the same.....Klingons. WTF? And this is after Enterprise went to such great lengths to explain why Klingons look the way they do in TOS, but different in all the other shows and movies.
Although, I'm a little frustrated that the Jamaican accent's affectations are not shown in the subtitles.
Although, I'm a little frustrated that the Jamaican accent's affectations are not shown in the subtitles.
Ha, ha. I always found that funny myself when shows do that. I guess, it's, like, they don't want to be offensive about it maybe. I could see someone getting butt-mad having their Cajun patois rendered into Wingdings or whatever.
I also watched Elder Millennial. I told myself if she said the damn words "party goblin," I was gonna shut it off. Didn't hear them if she said them. Probably 'cause she got married so she broke the goblin's neck.
I haven't seen Black Lightning as it wasn't connected to the Arrowverse (at least originally, maybe that's changing with the upcoming crossover?).
I decided to try to marathon Game of Thrones before the last season comes out. I had seen bits and pieces of season 7 but had no idea what the hell was going on.
I'm finishing season 2 now and although I like the series a lot it's different than what I expected. Definitely not Lord of the Rings. LotR had these amazing epic scenes with giant statues and cities and massive land battles and stuff. I'm expecting massive battles in GoT and so far all the battles have happened offscreen. They'll mention some battle between the Starks and Lannisters and you never get to see it, just some field of dead bodies and shit. Besides the occasional violent and bloody moment the series comes off as like a soap opera drama, lots of talking, characters moving around, character and story development. It's good, but certainly not as epic and war full as expected, although that may change in later seasons. It's not like HBO didn't have the budget. Also, a lot of the appeal of the show seems to be the shock-value element to it as well, which does get a bit old after a while.
It's a lot of that but there are some great battles in the series. S2E9 does have one pretty good battle but not at the scale of LOTR battles. S6 and S5 have (IIRC) the most battles. Most of the seasons have some skirmishes here and there and maybe one big story-event-battle episode. There's nothing on the scale of the Battle of Pelenor Fields or the Battle of the Hornburg. More are closer to the defense of Osgiliath, or the skirmish at Amon Hen. There are some larger ones as well but still not really on the scale of LOTR films. There are some solid battles in the series for sure. In the upcoming last season, we might have a particularly large battle as well.
Oh, something that bugged me. Back in season 2 I wondered how Bran got around the Bolton's siege of Winterfell and left without being spotted. Another thing that confused me this season was the aftermath of Hardhome's destruction. So Hardhome is on the coast of the ocean. The survivors board Stannis' fleet. So why... why did they just not use the fleet to get around the wall? Why did they go through the gate instead? The gate is hundreds of miles away from Hardhome. What the fuck????
And is anyone else tired of Baelish's Talk-out-the-side-of-my-fucking-mouth accent already? Anyone?
I watched the first episode and realized it wasn't for me. And now, hearing about the show X seasons later, I realize I was correct.
As usual.
The way Martin describes him in the books, he's pretty much Gollum at that point. Like, just completely fucked. Is that surprising coming from someone who obviously got a lot of inspiration from LoTR?
I can't. There's too much. Basically they reached a point where they caught up with what had been published, and from then on I consider it nothing but pricey fan fiction. Sure, they make the claim that they've worked closely with George to realize his "creative vision", but you know damn well dude's gonna do his own shit, if he ever even bothers I mean.
Just... so many characters and scenes omitted or heavily altered. Theon's family in particular is totally shafted in the show, you'd be forgiven for thinking the Greyjoys are nothing more than an afterthought. And Theon, himself? Jesus Christ. After the torture he endured, no one who previously knew him is supposed to recognize him. The way Martin describes him in the books, he's pretty much Gollum at that point. Like, just completely fucked.
In the show they have to constantly remind you that he has no junk anymore because visibly he looks no worse for wear!
I'm sure someone somewhere has compiled a list of all the differences, they are legion.

Doom Patrol is fun, but I'm still irked as I try to understand why nobody ages in that show. Well, other than Cliff, which is obvious. Half of them are, like, 80-something years old. Except for Niles, who's well over a hundred, and Cliff who's 98% physically dead and Cyborg who only halfway is.
It's actually explained in the last two episodes (mostly, sort of, you do have to do some of the math). I love that the show doesn't explain stuff and that they aren't particularly worried about the weird stuff being a turn-off (like the butts).Yeah, I watched the most recent episode last night, which explained things sufficiently. Looking forward to season 2...there's still a lot of questions to answer.
Do you fans think they should've just stopped? I'm just thinking if I were a fan of a book series that got turned into a show, I'd want them to stop when they ran out of shit to adapt. Wrap up what you got and hopefully everyone will be available for a mini-series whenever the author finishes it. But oh, well, gotta milk that sweet cash cow, I guess.I actually would have preferred them to begin the series AFTER GRRM finished the damn books, but since it's looking like he's going to die before he even finishes the next book, it probably wasn't worth waiting.

The first episode of Swamp Thing seemed promising.
With how shit is going with this service right now, I'm worried we won't see a second season. Titans looks like it's still moving so that's maybe a good sign. I also love that the actors in Doom Patrol seem to genuinely love the show.

I'd basically call the show done for now. There's been no signal that they're going to continue it anywhere else, and it may not be easy to pull everyone back together if they let too much water run under the bridge.
I'm on for the Crisis, but the only weekly I'm watching is Flash and Legends. Is Legends even on yet, though? I haven't seen it...it's the only one I actually look forward to as Flash has gotten stale. With that show I'm just about where I was when I finally decided Arrow wasn't worth putting up with anymore. I never saw the first two seasons of Supergirl, so I'm not interested in onboarding. Batwoman just doesn't appeal to me...it comes across to me as Lesbian Arrow. I didn't start on Black Lightning since it was disconnected from the others, but now I wish I had...but it's not worth me catching up with it at this point.
The ending of the "new" She-ra was stupid. The whole "new story" was stupid and plagued with tumblr-like shit, very much like Steven Universe. Im pissed they shat all over such a classic just so Hollywood can show their pro-lgbt agenda down our throats (btw im not against same sex couples, but im against them taking straight characters and making them lgbt just because. Those fuckers have steven universe for that!)
/rant.
I didn't really watch it- watch IT, more like my kids watched it and I just glanced at it once in a while mostly to complain about the fuck-ups. One funny thing tho is that there was an episode with Bow's family, and I wasnt really paying attention but they introduced Bow's dad and brother. Well thats what I thought. Just found out some days ago that was his dad and his dad's husband lol. Was this really necessary? nope. Did it fit Netflix's wOkE agenda? yes.
Pretty much why I never bothered with Nu-Ra to begin with.
I'm wondering if the Kevin Smith MOTU restart is going to suck or not. When I heard "anime-style" my behind puckered involuntarily for about twenty minutes. Then I saw the vocal team, and it's a bunch of people I had no idea did voiceovers (with a few notable exceptions). And it's Kevin Smith, so it's going to be cracked in some form or fashion. It depends. Is Kevin Smith still cool-20-years-ago kevin Smith or has he gone batshit crazy, like most "used to be cool" people seemingly have become?
I can't believe I haven't started watching the last season of Legends. Despite my enjoyment of it, it's like all the other CW shows; I like them, but I don't love them anymore. I have tried to get into Stargirl (phrasing), but I just can't bring myself to care enough about it to stay on top of it (again, phrasing).

Constantine...'s been such a great addition to the show that I never want to see him leave now. I think he's just weird enough that he can't quite carry his own show and just interesting enough that he really improves this one. And I can't deny I like the look of him as well.I really liked the NBC show. I wish they'd carried it over to CW as I think it would have done far better there. I'm glad they're more or less carrying it over through Legends.
That reminds me, if you haven't seen Doom Patrol, it's a similar ensemble of weird characters (all powered, though), including a recurring role for a Constantine stand-in that's different enough from Constantine to feel a bit unique but also feels like it lampoons the character a bit. Very fun. And Alan Tudyk as villain Mr Nobody is incredible.I enjoyed the first season. I figured I'd wait until everything's "aired" for season 2 before picking it back up.
Fuck Gina Carano and fuck Rosario Dawson if she is actually in it, and fuck Disney, but damn it I want to keep watching.
Fuck Gina Carano and fuck Rosario Dawson if she is actually in it, and fuck Disney, but damn it I want to keep watching.
I'm all aboard "fuck Disney" but what did Gina Carano and Rosario Dawson do?
Edit: Okay, I googled and can guess on Carano but why Rosario Dawson?
But then she's also involved in this: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/snoop-dogg-rosario-dawson-to-judge-tbs-talent-competition.

lol, I don't know who the rest of the hosts are. No wonder the link name only mentions snoop and dawson.
The Superman and Lois show is completely in continuity with the Arrowverse. It's a spin-off of Supergirl which is apparently canceled and has a half-season left to run later this year.
Flash is making some weird decisions this season. I'm thinking season 8 will be the last. Probably for the best if so.
Holy shit, did any of you watch that MODOK show? I can't even believe how awful it is. Just absolute garbage.
Might have been overly harsh about M.O.D.O.K. The the thing is, there were supposed to have been a handful of Marvel shows that came out of that Hulu deal, but M.O.D.O.K. was the only one that survived, so I figured, "Hey, they must have really struck gold here or something!"
And it was a just a whole lot of middle-of-the-road Robot Chicken humor, as you mentioned.
There's something off-putting about What If...? Did any of you ever play any of Telltale's "choose your own adventure"-style games? It looks like those, only more expensive. But not TOO expensive, Disney clearly gave a modest budget to this show.
Anyway, we're only two episodes in, so it definitely has time to improve, but so far it just comes across so... hokey? Like having The Watcher's narration pop in intermittently to summarize things they couldn't just show us due to time constraints is annoying more than anything. And the overabundance of flippant character dialogue is borderline nauseating.
Maybe more than anything I'm ticked off that they're (understandably) trapped within the confines of the MCU, whereas the What If...? comic book encompassed the entirety of Marvel Comics' history, so they were always able to go really batshit with it. We're stuck with crap setups like, "What if Killmonger met Tony Stark herp derp?!"
I love Poirot. It really makes murder comfy. For lack of better terminology. But damn, the later eps feel like a slog. I never got to the end nor was I ever motivated to. (I know how it ends but I never felt like watching it.)
If she's so inclined, Mrs. Fiero might also like Marple. It's the inferior between the two but scratches the itch for more Agatha Christie cozyness.
Also in line with the above in terms of feel for me, Sherlock Hound, believe it or not. But the cozyness of that one is probably more due to Miyazaki directing it. No murder that I recall but just good ol' "cartoon character solves mysteries" stuff.

Miyazaki directed sherlock dog detective? I'm IN.
I think she's looked at Misses Marple before, not sure if she's tried any of it. It's also Agatha Christie, IIRC, so wouldn't be surprised if she enjoys.
She's also enjoyed Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, also a pretty good show.
Owl House is one of those shows where my desire to enjoy it is far greater than my actual ability to do so. Like, it has practically everything going for it, but it just doesn't hit quite right.
I've read that it's canceled, and while that certainly means no Season 3, I wonder if the second half of Season 2 is also off the table now.
Peacemaker is so fucking good.
I wish the squatty potty wasn't so ugly. I just use a basket from Target. Turn it upside down and put my feet on top of it.
I also feel uncomfortable that he was feeding those to children. Like some pedo was "safely" living out his scat fetish. :raiseeyebrow:
Peacemaker is so fucking good.
<Chronoscythe>Indeed.</Chronoscythe>
He was an asshole, but he took pride in that.
I've all but stopped watching television at this point. I don't have time. Heck, I barely watch anime anymore. Heck, I barely play video games anymore. What am I doing with my life?! :P
Youtube trash has claimed me.
As to what you were actually saying, there always seems to be this kneejerk reaction to any criticism that could be labeled as "punching down".
"New Lion King sucks!" = Hate towards blacks.
"Lady Ghostbusters sucks!" = Hate towards women.
Like, a person is perfectly capable of thinking something is shitty without having ulterior motives.
Now, it would be so perfect and hilarious if episodes 5 and 6 followed suit, MY GOD. Who plotted this shit? Fucking Jon Favreau?! (Just kidding he had nothing to do with it this time.)
I happened upon this today, just gonna leave it here...Heh...wondered where half the excerpts for this originally came from.
Seriously, though, what's your take on Dakota Johnson?
Is she a legitimate talent, or is she skating by on the nepotism afforded her by Daddy Don?
Andor is bewilderingly good. Like, it's an actual fucking TV show. They finally found someone competent to do a St*r WarzzZZ treatment. Who would have thought that if you take the material seriously, your audience will in turn take your work seriously?!
Really makes me wish we had gotten the original vision for Rogue One before the execs decided to Disney it up.
Guess it's about time to cash in my free week of Disney+ on the Roku
I thought that was in reverse: didn't the people making Rogue One expect Disney to "Disney it up" but got away with actually killing the rebels?
Speaking of Trek, that teaser for Picard Season 3 looks fucking sick. Why didn't they just do that shit from the beginning?
Ahsoka kind of shit itself over the course of the season. Culminating in , arguably one of the stupidest things we've been subjected to in new school St*r WarzzZZ thus far.
Also, a "conclusion" that's nothing but setup for a second season. Man...
Season (series?) finale of Loki was solid. Wish more of the episodes could have been like that. Had one of the most "epic" moments the MCU has seen in a very long time.
It felt weird watching a Marvel thing again and actually caring about the characters and what was happening to them.
I can admit that the first episode wasn't awful. I'm cautiously optimistic.
I thought the final episode was a really good payoff overall, but man, I found a lot of the dialogue throughout to be fucking awful.I agree about the dialogue, but I wasn't expecting Shakespeare or anything...I was looking for dumb fun and found it in spades. There were several particular groaners in there, but my favorite one was the "I laugh at the superior intellect" line...it was so cliche, but the fact they even dared to throw that in there I found to be pretty ballsy.
I wouldn't be opposed to them coming back to it at some point down the line, though. Going by the epilogue, they clearly have some ideas.
To be clear, I'm not saying it is Shakespeare, just that I think Smith believes that's what he's accomplished here.Smith strikes me as one who just loves the smell of his own poop and as such doesn't believe in the courtesy flush. So I don't doubt he's proud as can be over it, which explains why he was so butthurt about Revelation being shat over.
I did like how Hordak snorted derisively at Skeletor at one point, that was a nice touch.I think that was a little Easter egg amongst a ton of little Easter eggs. I saw where someone pointed out the front of a Cadillac in the background of this one scene with Gwildor, and it was the one whose front end came with them to Eternia in the movie. But Keith David fucking killed it in this.
You mentioned the Snake Men, and I did like what they did with Teela in regards to that. I don't know if you ever had any of those mini-comics they used to pack in with the figures, but one of the earliest ones had that green-skinned Teela character, and I'm not sure she was even referred to as Teela at that point, to be honest. But then later when she got her own toy, they mostly kept that same design (albeit with the swapped out skin tone) complete with her cobra hood and scepter. They call the green version of Teela "the Green Goddess" now, which adds to the ongoing Teela/Goddess/Sorceress conundrum. Basically Teela was both a warrior and goddess in her original concept, so it was great how they reconciled all the aspects of her character.
And from the way Kevin talks about it, it sounds like Revolution is being very well received. He sounds hopeful that they'll get to do more.Yeah, I read that and was relieved. Apparently the reason they went with 5 episodes was Netflix's algorithm told them it would do better, and it apparently has. Word is (https://foreternia.com/2024/02/masters-of-the-universe-revolution-finishes-its-u-s-top-10-run-with-6-days) that Revolution has already done better than Revelation and was in Netflix's Top 10 for six days straight. I just hope now that strikes and whatnot are over we can get more content quicker, because the wait was pretty long for this in on top of the normal animation delay.
I was cringing the entire time during that bike eulogy thing, because it's a story that Kevin frequently tells about his own father! Back when he was a kid, all his friends had BMXs and he mentioned to his parents that he wanted one. So he comes home after school one day to find this fugly homemade bicycle that his dad had cobbled together, and he thanked him for it, but he never rode it because he would have been too embarrassed. Then much later after his old man had passed away, he was reminded of that bike and said that if he could go back he would have ridden it all up and down the streets all over town. And he's getting all teary-eyed while he's talking about it and I'll be honest, it was touching.
But then for him to just repurpose that shit for this dumb cartoon he's working on. Jesus Christ.
