30 Minutes or Less.

Pretty fucking funny. Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride in top comedic form.

I'd like to watch that, Aziz is a funny man. Parks and Recreation would be very different without him.

Why would you even suggest such a thing?

If Aziz left P&R, I don't even know that I'd want to watch it anymore.

As long as Aubrey Plaza is still there, I'll have a reason. I'd like to visit that plaza, I tell you what.

Fright Night 2011

Solid. I wonder if I'd like it more or less if I hadn't watched the original on Netflix a couple weeks back. Now I'll never know. There were enough differences that it avoided the potential been-there-done-that sensation. My one complaint is that it wasn't gory enough, as modern CG just can't duplicate that good old '80s horror nastiness.

Conan the Barbarian 2011

Not bad. I feel like the beginning of the story wrote a check that the rest of the movie couldn't cash, but it was still mostly entertaining. Momoa's Conan is more authentic to the source material in pretty much every way that matters. Still, the original is a classic and I doubt this one will ever be held in the same regard.

I'm curious about new Fright Night and reading your comments has me thinking I should watch the new one first since I've never seen the original.  I think I'll skip out on the new Conan though.

I'm planning on taking in Conan and skipping Fright Night...so after I do that I'll copy the part of my brain that has the movie on it and then you can eat it. Since I don't plan on seeing Fright Night, you can do the same for me. I've also seen the original Fright Night so you can have that as well. Now I just need to find the right bit for the drill.

Cap is okay, but the Hewlett Packard movie is totally overrated.

I don't remember any ape dongs.  The truth is those apes would be masturbating and banging like fiends.  But I guess the general public wasn't ready for the truth.

Please take into account that neither I nor Beck has actually seen the film (at least, I am assuming she has not based on context).

I'm watching The Expendables.  Some of the action with the camera whipping around is annoying (like where Stallone and Lee take down those dudes on the island while on recon) and we get too many closeups of eyeballs and Stallone's freaky over-manscaped brows.  And I wanted to punch the Statham character in the face.  Shit, they shouldn't even have tried to give the fuck a story with the girlfriend crap.  We should've had more on Jet Li and Dolph to fill the time instead.  I hope someone seriously kicks Statham's in the sequel but it probably won't happen.  Otherwise, yeah, the movie delivers what it means to.

Oh no...  Not "The Boys Are Back In Town" for the credits.  Now you've just made me want to watch Toy Story.

I forgot to post about Don't Be Afraid of the Dark last Friday.

It wasn't the worst, but it was pretty hackneyed all around for the genre, and I wouldn't exactly call it scary.

The only movies that should ever use that song for ANYTHING should be the toy story franchise.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

What about a movie where boys come back to a town .... as men (in a deep booming voice).

Finally watched The Last Airbender this morning and yes it was shit but I did enjoy most the Zuko scenes. Slumdog is pretty good actor.

I watched some of that on Netflix and, yeah, Patel and the guy playing Iroh were pretty good.  But what a steaming pile.  And nearly everyone else was terrible.

I'd really like to know what M. Night was thinking when he cast those kids. In his past movies he's done a pretty good job with selecting his cast. Then again he was probably just there to get a pay chell and didn't care who the studio put in the movie.
