spoilers

Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 2- I thought it was pretty damn good. Maybe the best movie I've seen this summer. I like how they flipped the script on Snape and Dumbledore. Snape wanted nothing but to protect Harry and keep him safe while Dumbledore just wanted to keep alive long enough to use against Voldemort.

I Saw The Devil - Awesome Korean action/drama/torture pr0n movie starring the guy from Old Boy as the villain. Check it out on Netflix streaming.

El Topo- weird and boring. I ended up fast forwording through most of the movie.

Hunter Prey- a pretty good low budget scifi movie from guy who made the Batman vs. Predator vs. Aliens fan trailer a few years back. Also on Netflix sreaming.

Hey, I watched Rambone tonight, and it was great! A 90 minute action movie with no bullshit filler? Fuck yeah!

Also, Way of the Dragon, which is not only an excellent Kung-Fu movie, but just an excellent movie, period. Whenever I hear about Bruce Lee, it's always in relation to Enter the Dragon, but Way of the Dragon is way fucking better!

Speaking of Bruce Lee...I saw Game of Death. Not better then Enter The Dragon, not better then Enter the Dragon at all.

Might be seeing Cap tomorrow morning. My two roomies both said it was awesome. I trust their collective opinion, but only one of their opinions is harder to trust.

A year isn't too long of wait. Avengers will probably out by then.

I actually bet Thor, Lantern and Cap will be out around Christmas if not before. Only movies that seem to take a year to make it to DVD these days are Christmas movies that are released at Christmas. They always seem to hold the DVD back till the next Christmas after release.

For streaming it'll take longer.  I don't I care that much to use up a spot in my dvd queue for that.

Cap was great. I saw it in 3D...that part was meh. TF3 was far better in that sole regard.

X-Men 1st Class will be out on DVD September 9th; Thor, September 13th.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I really wish I had seen Avatar in 3D, because maybe then I would have some sort of appreciation for it. As it stands, it all just seems like a worthless pile of crap to me.

In practically every 3D movie I've been to in the past year or so, I cease to recognize the 3D effect after about 15 minutes. It's like, okay, some stuff obviously stands out from other stuff, but who fucking cares?

Then halfway through the movie Cap throws his shield at the camera to remind me I paid extra for my ticket and that I'm wearing uncomfortable, goofy-looking glasses on my face.

And it's called the evolution of cinema.

I was lucky. I was able to see Cap in Non-3D. Seems the souring on 3D has started. When I saw Thor earlier in the summer, they didn't even offer a non-3D option. Same with Tron. Now they have 3D and non-3D. The last time I saw that was back when 3D started to get big and theaters where still unsure and offered both.

They off both here, especially on films that were not really intended for 3D, such as Cap.

Source Code was great.  Check it out.  While you're at it watch Moon if you haven't already.

Watching Prince of Darkness yesterday.  Not so great. Kind of silly.  Great John Carpenter synthesizer soundtrack...

Heavy Metal. Much better than I remember. The final segment takes the cake, but overall it's pretty entertaining, despite some obvious rotoscopiness.

Ironclad. Boo.

Paul Giamatti has no business playing a role in that time period. No business whatsoever. :nono:

He was Santa Claus in Fred Claus. He was also the bad guy in Shoot'em Up. He was also in that Wine movie with the guy from Wings, whose name escapes me at the moment.

He was Pig Vomit in Howard Stern's Private Parts.

That's the first I recall seeing him.

Cowboys and Aliens. The movie begins as a western, and it's good. Then the aliens arrive and the movie turns into an unbearable festival of invasion clichés. Daniel Craig god modes his way through the proceedings. Finally, the movie ends, I exit the theater, and it's good again.

I will say this, Harrison Ford isn't just Harrison Ford in this movie. He actually plays a character. I was shocked.

I read some review in the paper that said it would've been better off as a straight western than adding in all of dem ay-lee-ans.

Did anyone see the Smurfs?  They added new Smurfs.  Was that really necessary?  REALLY?

NO. Unless some of them were females. That was a serious sausage fest. The guy at Gamestop said it was pretty good but he works at Gamestop so what does he know.
