Jay and Silent Bob has it's moments, but it does lack the edge that the other movies have. Seem he was going for that more mainstream feel. It is the only Viewaskiverse movie I don't own though...so I must agree with you.

And oddly enough I just watched 5th Element.

I need to watch Clerks 2 again so I can remember why I hate it.

But couldn't you say the same for most of the stuff you watch? I know I could. Generally I'd rather spend free time watching something I haven't seen before. There are exceptions.

Such as The Fifth Element. Any time I'm flipping channels and that's on, I'll watch it. I love that movie. It's just so fucking weird, it never ceases to amaze me that it actually exists.

yeah, I'm the same way. Whenever Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or The Fifth Element is on tv I have to watch them. Nevermind that at anytime I could watch either of them on DVD or on Netflix.

I fit Fifth Element in the same category as Raiders of the Lost Ark and Big Trouble in Little China in that it's simply a fun movie that I can watch anytime and be glad I did.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Sucker Punch.

First off, the title. I didn't like it when they first announced it, I still don't like it after actually seeing the movie. It's nonsense. It has nothing to do with anything.

The movie itself was flashy as hell. It was cool to watch. But to be perfectly honest, it could have begun and ended with the first fight sequence, and it would have made a neat little short film. As it is, Sucker Punch is a collection of awesome music videos strung together with a bunch of "dramatic"... stuff... which I found very difficult to care about.

Basically, I just didn't feel for any of the characters. It had no emotional impact. In one scene the girls are all downtrodden and you're expected to empathize with them, but in the next they're kicking the shit out of everyone and everything, so...? And it goes back and forth like that. I feel like I learned absolutely nothing about who any of these women are supposed to be.

So if you want something that makes you go, "Ooh, shiny!" then by all means chell out Sucker Punch. Just don't expect to care about any of the characters.

C+

I'm still gonna see sucker punch, because just like it I am flashy and cool to watch, but am severely lacking any emotional content.

The clit commander scene in strikes back was at the time one of the funniest bits I'd ever seen.  The only reason its not funny anymore is because I rewound and watched it 3913824 times.

I can give Suckerpunch a C. No depth, little story, poor acting. Tits and ass in slow motion. The action scenes are pretty okay, but would have worked better on there on as advertisements for energy drinks.

I guess the good news is no matter how bad Sucker Punch does it wont derail the next Superman movie.

Nope. When I find something I like, I will watch it over again.  If I find something I love or even just really like, I will literally see it a 100 or so times.  Unless a new movie has some lure like an actor/actress, a setting, a director, or some interesting plot point I'd like to see, I have no reason to watch it.  Not even when I'm bored.  I can tell most of the time when I like something or not by the synopsis.  [Dump most movies on this alone.]  Or I'll go read spoilers if the synopsis is somewhat interesting to see if I really want to commit the time.  [Did this with Shutter Island, decided to pass.  Did this with the Grudge and rented it and watched it.  It really can go either way.]  Sometimes, I will shut movies off in the first five minutes and never go back to it again.  [Charade.  Ink.  Ong Bak 3.]  Other times, I will see about thirty minutes of the movie itself and have forwarded through the rest.  [Les Diaboliques.  Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.]  Actually seeing an entire movie without forwarding through it or getting up and making a sandwich or taking a pee break without pausing it as I did with All-Star Superman is in the minority.

I did more or less this exact entire process with "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" (the movie I saw last night) except I ended up seeing more than five minutes and forwarded the heck out of parts of it.

Today I watched Suspicion with Cary Grant.  It did not end the way I was expecting it to.  Good show, Mr. Hitchcock.

It is now the only Kevin Smith movie I DO own.  And probably the one I've seen the most.

Was reading up on teh best resource in the world, Wikipedia, and apparently Hitchcock hated the ending to Suspicion and it was supposed to be a completely different film closer to the much darker book it was derived from.  And while a remake may be good...

Quote
In February 2010 Will Smith announced that he will produce[2] and star in the remake of the film which is planned for a 2011 release.[3]

I resonate with a lot of this. I'll throw another bit out there: If I've never heard of the movie (despite its ratings or reviews or whatever) I instantly could not give any less of a fuck.

However, I hate watching things more than once. One and done, never want to see it ever again. This applies to movies, video games, comics, TV, etc. Once it's over it loses all entertainment value and gets put in the boring pile.

I never want to see a movie if it doesn't involve a superhero.

And when I say I don't "want" to see something, I don't mean "I don't want to see it but I don't not want to see it", I mean I want to not experience this movie in any capacity what-so-ever.

Then we have to hook up our DVD collections. Maybe they could go to dinner and see a movie...then there is awkward where they discover they both have a little Commando in them.

Jack Falls. It was like a poor man's Sin City the way it was in all B&W with little doses of colour.
It was entertaining enough that I kept it on the the background while I did other stuff.

However, I would've replaced Lois's inner monologue flying sequence with him flipping her dress up and boning her in mid air above the statue of liberty.

I wonder what Lana looks like now.  That's the problem with 80s movies.  You wanna bang the actresses but you forget its been 30 years.
