Homeless Children of Orange County. So fucking sad. :(
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

The Reader, I cried like a bitch at the end. Good movie, though.

I saw Batman: Under the Red Hood. It was pretty good. They didn't really try to hide who the Red Hood was, but in the end it didn't matter. They mystery of the Hood wasn't the point of the movie. It was strange to hear Bender as The Joker though.

I also saw Hot Tub Time Machine. It was pretty good. Not as good as the hype, but nothing ever is. Still good though. What gets me about these time travel movies is they always tell you not to mess with the time line. But when you ignore that and do it anyway, things are always better when you get back to the future. I'd totally mess with the time line if I travel into the past.

I put Under the Red Hood in my queue but it's one of those that takes a while before Netflix can send it.  Or whatever.  It isn't Conroy anyway so I don't care about waiting.

I'm lucky. A buddy of mine buys all the DC DTV movies like as soon as they come out and then he always lets me borrow them. I think deep down he wants to get me back into comics or something. Because like drinkers don't like to drink alone, comic geeks don't like to hit up comic shops alone. But I did my time in the 90s like everyone else. I've been clean for years now.

The stuff DC has done over the last few years has been pretty awesome, at least on the Lantern front. I hear the Batman stuff has been pretty good, too.

Kick-Ass. It was pretty good. But don't get fooled by the title, this movie is really about Hit Girl.

yeah the movie is better than the comic. Atleast he gets the girl in the end.

Just watched Amadeus from 1984. It was ok. I wish they played  "Rock Me Amadeus" atleast once during the movie.

I'm working my way through the LotR trilogy extended editions and all the supplimentary material.  Fellowship and Towers are watched along with all the behind the scenes stuff for Fellowship.  Next comes the extras for Towers, then I move on to Return.  After that's done, I'll watch all three with each of the 4 commentary tracks.

It's a bit crazy how much material they crammed on these discs.

I saw Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.  I think saving another Earth was a huge enough undertaking as it was without the added plot of nutso Owl Pellets trying to destroy all existence because of *shrug* "meh, because".  That knocked off a star for me.  It felt like the threat of the Made Men and the five family heads became hugely diminished at that point.  One of the extras on Superman/Batman: PE says how the writer had written it for a Justice League episode and it shows because half of it felt like a shitload of awesome and the other seemed to not mesh with that.  Also Batman seemed off to me.  How they drew him, how they wrote him, how he sounded, how he acted.  But at least Baldwin Batman didn't sound like he was gargling like in New Frontier.  Also it annoyed me that not every character voice was credited.  Some of us are interested in that crap.  I shouldn't have to go to IMDB to find out.

Also...

Manhunter gettin' action was kinda ew.  Sorry, it was.
Merla was also disturbed by his head, but that didn't bother me so much.
The president was a pirate and his daughter was almost unreasonably hot.  Ha ha.
I really liked good Lex and Superwoman.  Jester was awesome too.  I'd like to see them in something else.
Ultraman reminded me of a guido.
Showing that Batman cared for the Flash was a really sweet touch but him eating that pretzel earlier... ftw.  lol
I don't know if it was the shoulders or the forehead or the feet but Wonder Woman looked kinda weird.
Use of Invisible Jet was cool.

I think it's hilarious that villains in relationships (Owlman/Superwoman) are always oversexualized because sex is evil.  They were really hammering that home.  And in that S/B:PE extra about this feature, Gina Torres is all talking about Superwoman being a strong female who is sexualized and knows what she wants like Superwoman is a positive role model or something.  (And a minute earlier, Andrea Romano is talking about Superwoman being a sociopath.)  It would mean so much more for a mentally sound character like Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Hawkgirl, or someone more prominent to not be afraid of their own sexuality and know what they want.  In an evil character, it's kinda meaningless.  It's like "oh, it's another evil slut" along with "oh, another good virgin/chaste hero".  It's in the same family as villains being given LGBT contexts because gay is evil.  Like Ultraman's "Get your hands off my boy!"  I rofled because it sounded funny but then it was like "wait, was that supposed to be gay?"  He and Jimmy did seem to cohabitate.

Thnx for the link, good blank.  If I like it, I still may want to watch it on TV anyway.  I'll see how much I enjoy it on a computer screen first.

Holy fuck, Toe!  I finished Red Hood and that shit was ti-zight.  You get over 9000 pellets, my man.  OVER.  9000.  I'll pull that out of my Netflix queue and put it on my Amazon wishlist because that's an eventual buy.

I'm glad it wasn't because it was too damn easy.  I thought I wasn't gonna like Greenwood and, er, Bender, heh... (don't remember his name.  Dimaggio or something)  Both were great though.  Conroy and Hamill belong in the parts, but I think I prefer not hearing them in a movie this dark and heavy.  I like them in the lighter fare.  Gotham looked pretty sweet, too, the cityscapes and all.  I would've actually liked to see this in the theater.  Too bad they didn't do at least a limited run with it.

It was pretty good, but I still liked the comic arc better. The best parts were Jason screwing over Bats/Black Mask in various ways.

I'll admit that I would have much rather seen, or rather heard, Hamill as Joker. He really has become the voice of Joker.

But then when I hear him, I'll picture him beating the shit outta Jason instead of tossing Harley Quinn out of a window and that's not the image I want.

Conroy, Daly, and ... no Ironside. Darkseid just doesn't sound right without Ironside putting that sadistic charm behind him.
