I watched the Mist. Ok movie, awesome ending

I know a few who hate this movie, but I agree that the ending was bad ass. Most people think it was horrible, but really, how would you react if you say shit like a
Spoiler (hover to show)
walking about in front of you. You would probably do the same shit.

Wait, so the entire movie ends with a
Spoiler (hover to show)
sounds pretty sweet to me.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

You know what was great? Titan A.E. That shit was awesome.

Didn't think it was terrible but didn't particularly like it either.  Still, I'd rewatch it on a rainy day with nothing else to watch.

I saw the Curse of Golden Flower, directed by Zhang Yimou starring Chow-Yun Fat and Gong Li.  This movie is the shit.  First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous: the patterns, the textures, the colors, the fucking hair.  Even if you come out not liking the rest of the film, you can't deny it's beautiful to look at.  It does have some martial arts but they don't take over the movie until the end with... well.. woo.  You gotta fucking see it.  Chow Yun Fat is a monster in this film, I'm so used to him playing a good guy in everything I see with him in it so it was amazing.  Also, all of the jiggly boobs made me want Jello.

Yeah...she really was. Especially when she went all Goth as the Bride of Darkness.

But how this movie never gave me Nightmares as a kid is beyond me.

Yes, I say.  Nearly every woman in the film makes it her mission to push those babies up.

Totally agree on Golden Flower.  Amazing.

I went ahead and bought it after I mailed Netflix back their copy.

Also, I picked up Kindergarten Cop, but haven't opened it and watched it yet.  Been meaning to buy that movie for a while and there it was.

I love how they try to portray him as a normal WASP American with no one ever commenting on his accent.

Trying to watch Sherlock holmes but everytime I intend to, I remember how much the first 20 minutes sucked and turn it off :-(
2012 was awesome, but John Cusack should never have a lead role unless its in a romantic comedy, ala Serendipity

We see enough of that in the hood what with ancient flood control standards and new McMansions taking up a giant permeable landprint.  :goddammit:

The 2012 movie featured massive uncontrollable floods.  All the small houses on our streets are being replaced by giant houses that take up most of the lot, hence more concrete and less water absorption during the next monsoon.  Houston is also woefully behind in updating flood control vs. development. Don't get me wrong; it's a great place to live if one has a 3-story pier & beam house on a hill.

Ohhhh. See, there was other stuff (I am guessing) that happened in that movie, so singling out flooding was not obvious to me. Although, you did say flood in your sentence. Hmm. Oh well.

Just watched So I Married an Ax Murder.

Right now I'm watching Enter the Dragon. Which I was very happy about getting for only 5 bucks. Been wanting this movie forever, but didn't want to be pay a lot for it.

I actually got a great deal picking up those two movies as well as Police Academy and the Hammer studio version of the Mummy for like 17 bucks, all new.

We're finding all kinds of cheap Hammer and Vincent Price movies in bookstores - got the Witchfinder General (AKA The Conqueror Worm) the other day for $4.99.
