Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

A nice little gem before Spielberg became a total hack. Got the Ultimate Edition for 9 bucks. Includes the theatrical, Special Edition, and Directors Cut of the movie. Wasn't a bad deal actually.

We're watching that now actually.  I've never seen that movie before.  Actually, I'm really bored by it.

What's the diff between all of the editions of the movie?

It's not a fast paced movie at all, but a well crafted one.

SE had some sequences that were cut out, and bunch of stuff from inside the ship.

Directors cut seems to have most of the SE stuff, but cuts the inside the ship stuff back out.

Have to watch all three one right after another to note the differences. Only watched the Director's Cut since it was the only one I hadn't seen. The changes to all three is minimal, which is why I am glad I didn't pay the 30 bucks this thing cost when it first came out.

Watching Logan's Run at the moment.

2012 was awesome? Was it actually?
Hell yea. The best thing is that they didn't focus the movie in NY, like ALL disaster movies, but they focused it in California.

You mean like the rest of disaster movies? I think the only disaster movie I watched that was not Cali or New York was about an asteroid that hit Dallas.

I think this is the only one I've seen that was situated in Cali. Oh shit wait, Volcano did too right. Ok those two. The rest are all in NY, including monster movies

You know they cut so much out of "This Island Earth" that the unriffed version of the film is actually longer?

Yeah. It was really great. Funny as hell. Good story, even though I figured it out pretty early on. Still good and at least it had a story, unlike most action flicks these days. I actually liked it so much I'm considering buying it. (watched the movie at a buddie's house.)

Anne Bancroft and her daughter were both extremely fuckable in that movie.

You know what was a great movie?

The Faculty. There was this one scene where the lady splashes water on herself. If I could loop it I would.

The "old" woman does look good, but her fake tone of voice, to make it "sexier", annoys me. It sounds so fake.
I didn't understand the ending though.

I still can't believe Robert Rodriguez directed that thing, but the Soundtrack has an Oasis and Garbage song on it. So it gets a few extra points in my book just for that.

Capture the frames, make one long animated gif, run it on your comp while you wank?

Last movie I saw was Red Cliff, directed by John Woo and based on the Records of the Three Kingdoms which takes place before the Han dynasty.  The flick is epic.  I refused to watch the cut version, which chops it pretty much in half.  The original's nearly a five hour movie and while I see why certain things were snipped, too much was relevant imo to miss out on.  In fact, I dare say the ending felt slightly rushed.

I've also been watching Bride and Prejudice several times.  I wub that movie.

The copy I got didn't. Basic as hell. Only extra was the Trailer. No idea if there is a super special version out there, but if there is this wasn't it.

On the Weather Channel?!

Nah, I pulled it out of a 5 buck bin.

Never watch the Weather Channel cause my area of the country only exists to them if we are all going to die in a flood or a tornado. Other then they just kinda skip right over us. It's like "And it'll be sunny in Denver, and now on to Chicago." It's like we don't even exist.
