I always found Snow White really dull. I understand why it's an important film, but doesn't hold up so swell in my opinion.
I saw The Thomas Crown Affair, the remake with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. The film really started off as a winner with an interesting heist and good characters. Then you can actually see when some fucking moron begins a hackjob on the latter part of the film. The sexy, confident Rene Russo character suddenly becomes a needy, sobbing, moody tampon and Brosnan completely loses his footing as a delightly arrogant gentleman thief, doing a dozen flip-flops to being a confused man, a bumbling idiot, a fucking magician, and a plain old prick. The Denis Leary character also suffered, becoming less sympathic and more, well, pathetic. When the end came and Brosnan and Russo are making out on the plane, I groaned in complete disgust. It went from 4 stars to like 1. Really sad. I was unfamiliar with the prior film even though I knew this one was a remake. Turns out, they're NOT supposed to stay together... just like it was set-up to be throughout the entire damn film. Boo. This could've been an excellent updated take on the story. Now it goes down with The Vanishing in the pit of shitty remake "happy" endings. (Although I don't think TTCA can outdo the original director of Spoorloos/The Vanishing fucking up his own film since he also directed the remake!)
