Beowulf was a great movie. I wasn't faithful to the original, but remember the 'original' is one version that was written down by someone probably 100+ years after the original was told. I enjoyed it.
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

Huh, sounds almost like it should have become a religious text.

I find it funny Anthony Hopkins and Angenlia Jolie produce an inbred freak of nature with an ear problem with Angie and Ray Winstone produces an oscar statue that morphs into a badass drake.

Geez, no kidding.  Beowulf certainly benefitted from the CGI-ization.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I thought this was kind of neat, and I took it to mean that depending on who knocks up Grendel's mother, whatever she pops out is a reflection of the father's true nature.

Has anyone seen the live action "Beowulf and Grendel"? It's all right. Grendel knocks boots with Sarah Polley.

I watched Beowulf last night.  There was a lot of stuff I didn't care for in this movie, and I certainly don't remember Beowulf selling out and macking Grendel's mother.  Even if she did look like Angelina Jolie, that's still BS.

Yeah, it wasn't terrible but it's nothing I'll ever see again.  I was bothered that I kept expecting the Polar Express to appear.

Commando.

Actually bought this one out of the five buck bin with Predator 2. Hadn't seen it in awhile. Can't say the villian was very threatening in this one. He looked more like he should be kicking back and watching "Da Bears" then trying to kill Arnie.

And whatever happened to Rae Dawn Chong anyway?

Her last appearance was apparently on "That's So Raven," and she has two movies currently in post-production: "Cyrus" and "When We Were Pirates."

Hey, is it only articles that you are not supposed to capitalize in titles? I always forget. I really didn't want to capitalize "so" or "we were" up there.

I'm watching a movie called Across the Hall starring Brittney Murphy, can't give a review of it yet but the opening credits are pretty cool and mood setting.
I think it's about a murder in a Hotel, I was expecting from the title...I guess a romantic comedy?

Well that was crappy, they killed off Brittney Murphy(who I love) very quickly then I just lost interest. The two male leads were throwaway 20something who caresies, Brittney should not be hotel room fodder at this point in her career. Bad role choice I guess, pass.

Doesn't seem like she's had many 'big' roles in awhile. Last thing I remember was uh, fuck. Was she in the Butterfly Effect?

Rented Coraline today. It was pretty good, but I think it'd scare the shit out of the kids this was marketed too when it came out in the theater, but I enjoyed it.

Just watched State of Play, its starring Russel Crowe as a journalist uncovering a murder involving his friend Congressman Ben Afleck.
It was good, I recommend.

Ah, one of my favorite movies ever.  I think I must've been the only pre-teen girl I knew that was all "Oh boy, Commando's on!"  I got it for ten bucks a year or so ago and always watch it when I'm bored.  The boner from The Warriors must be my favorite character out of the whole thing.  Bill Duke was pretty bad ass, too.  Too bad they didn't have bigger parts.  Much more interesting than dictator what's-his-face and Mustachio the Gay.

I also saw:

Aliens 2.  I really need to buy those movies.
Presumed Innocent.  Raul Julia, we miss you.
Part of the Corpse Bride.
Most of Solaris, sadly enough.  FTW.
Most of the Da Vinci Code.  A is for Apple, fuckers.
The Fugitive.  I really wanted to do TLJ in this one.
Most of Ransom.  RAWR, gimmee back mah son!  I never realized how much of the beginning I miss when I see this movie.
Fast forwarded through a bunch of Tokyo Gore Police.  At least I can't accuse it of not living up to its name.

Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone...basically a very pretty recap of the first arc of the series.  It doesn't deviate a lot from the original, but the thing is almost a screen-for-screen recreation in HD.  Not worth it if you saw the series, and possibly a PITA to follow if you haven't.

I saw the Saludos Amigos/Three Caballeros double feature thing.  You know, where Donald Duck learns about South America and Mexico.  Overall, it's actually quite progressive given it's from the freakin' 40's.  Dated, obviously.  (And every other thing is described as being "gay".)  Most of it is boring though.  Blah blah blah, here's a coastline.  Blah blah blah, here's a llama.  Blah blah, here's a funny dance.  The best part were the other two birds, the Brazilian parrot José Carioca and the Mexican rooster Panchito.  They both have thick accents and constantly slip into their respective languages, but I'll be damned if they're easier to understand than stupid Donald.  Not to mention José smokes a cigar and Panchito randomly fires his pistols and sticks them in Donald's face.  Too bad he didn't shoot him so I wouldn't have to see Donald chasing, bleh, human women.

Because.

I saw "On A Clear Day", where this duder who loses his job decides to swim across the English Channel.  It turned out to be about a man and his sons.  Boo.  Not a bad movie, but it would've worked better if it had been more light-hearted and not such a downer.  (One of the sons is dead, if that gives you an idea of how this goes.)

The film kept insisting there were no sharks tho.  I guess that's, like, seal gang territory or something.

This site says so, too: http://www.nycswim.org/Resource/EnglChannelFAQ.aspx#sharks

I watched House Bunny. It was ok, but how come a movie based on Playboy lacked nudity. They had a scene that should have used nudity, but didn't. Also, I love when Hollywood dresses hot girls as ugly girls, only to then show them as hot again.
