After being a Larc en Ciel fan for over 20 years , I finally had the chance to go to one of their concerts (they stopped going on tours some years ago) and guess what, the concerts in Tokyo are going to be held LITERALLY 2 blocks away from my place! BUT. I fucking forgot to apply for the tickets and I lost my chance. You better believe I've asked everywhere for a ticket, hell I have even offered much more money than they cost, but so far nothing. I am so angry with myself aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

My wet dream is that they will cancel the concerts because of coronavirus and then reschedule it somewhere else with extra dates (which will mean I can apply for it again).

Heres to hoping that they'll give back the money to the ticket holders and then make lotteries again when they give out the new concert dates

Hmm so far the only thing that has been a pain in the ass is that the kids have no school (but school year is supposed to finish next weel anyways so that was 2 weeks of vacation). I see people hoarding the toilet paper and tissues (masks being long gone) but besides that everything looks super normal, number of tourists, open restaurants etc (I live minutes away from Shibuya crossing so I'd know).

The TP hoarding happens every time there is some big disaster here. Also happened after Fukushima. The reason is because of the "Iran oil shock" in 1973, the japanese thought that the prices of oil would stop the production of toilet paper for some unknown reason so they hoarded the hell out of it back then (you can find pics online) so it is kind of a PTSD reaction for them to do this. The president of the toilet paper association (lol) had to come on tv to tell everybody to relax because they have enough TP for everyone. Nevermind that most japanese have bidets in their toilets. So what I am guessing is that the other countries read the news about japanese hoarding masks and toilet papers so they decided to do so too.

Cat People was a weird-ass movie. I'd say it's due for a remake. Probably a gay remake where the cat people have ADHD and talk about that non-stop along with how they have to eat people for their mental health.

Yeah, I really like the song and it's the only reason I even remember anything about that movie despite seeing it maybe once as a kid. Funny enough, I listened to that track because of the Atomic Blonde soundtrack. I haven't seen that movie but I was scouring for music to listen to and I thought, "hey, that movie might have an interesting soundtrack."

I mean, I like the 80's. I like 80's music. But there was more fucking music in the 80's than the top forty shit that always gets shoved into an 80's movie. So I'm over it. Once the Blue Monday cover started playing after Cat People, I just Krusty-groaned and stopped listening. It was a good cover. I'm just at the point that I would prefer these movies dig for more obscure bands or at least bands that don't automatically make an 80's night karaoke playlist. The Clash, Flock of Seagulls, George Michael? Siouxsie and the Banshees and Til Tuesday have other songs, you know. These movies always have to use "Cites in Dust" and "Voices Carry."

Anyway... been listening to this for a bit. From what I understand, the guy behind the song doesn't care for this video. Whatever, it's a great video. Even though I don't know anyone who actually saw Career Opportunities.

Listening to the soundtrack for Tunic. A nice little game with a nice soundtrack. Haven't played it but watched several Let's Plays or other people playing it. I wish I had stopped watching other people play it and just picked it up for myself. If any of you guys want to pick up a cute game that's not all that it seems at face value, this is the one. Very, very charming. Around 15 hours long with a competent player. Don't look anything up and go into it without spoiling yourself.

After getting the bad ending, I looked up everything I had missed to get the good ending. I don't consider myself a complete moron or anything, but I feel like I could have played the game for a hundred years and still not figured out all the esoteric puzzle shit.

I do think the game is good. No doubt. But around the time of its release, some game personalities I follow were gushing really hard over it, like it was some kind of transcendental religious experience, and... I just didn't get the hullaballoo.

It was fun for a week or so, though.

You don't have to get everything. As in all of the trophies or all of the fairies. Unless they've patched that. I've seen at least five different people play this game and a couple of them got the back page from the fairies without all twenty fairies. All twenty are only needed for the trophy. You just need all of the pages. But getting that cover page is wild.

Not related to the ending but I noticed most people missed the hour glass. Even so, none of the people I watched play even used the hour glass. They openly wondered what it was for.

Oh, oh, go watch the speedruns on YouTube. I think it's IGN has one where the developers are commentating. That person just beelined to the Heir. And there's another speedrun that's the good ending that's even more interesting.

This is one of mine. I probably go look up this opening every couple of years to watch it. (The ending is also in the same video and it's a decent ending.) It even does that neato thing where the male and female leads sing the opening song. Too bad the Sorcerer Hunters anime was so damn forgettable. I couldn't tell you what the point of it was. It's definitely one of those opening themes that tricks you into thinking the show is cool. A++ opening/ending music, D show.

I just realized there's a bunch of his material I haven't listened to. The last thing I paid attention to was his 2018 album "Risen," which I really liked. I completed missed "Pain is God." I'm going through some tracks now. The title track wasn't too hot imo. But I like the second track, "Cursed":

Yeah. Raymond Watts. And a bunch of his PIG material from the past few years also has him collaborating with En Esch who was also in KMFDM. He's also worked with others who were in KMFDM.

I was looking something up and just noticed, KMFDM also has a new album coming out in September. HYËNA on Sept 9th. The new PIG one, The Merciless Light, is Sept 23rd. For me, PIG's material is closer to the sound I fell in love with when I got into KMFDM. If that makes sense. I mean, Watts' vocals were all over Nihil and that one's my favorite KMDFM album.

Honestly... not really as excited about a new KMFDM album. Not even a fifth as much as the PIG one. I know a lot of people want to blame founder Sascha Konietzko's wife Lucia Cifarelli when it comes to the current KMFDM's sound. But I actually really like her vocals on a bunch of their songs. When her vocals work, they really work. "Bait and Switch." "Amnesia." "Last Things." "Looking for Strange." She can be really good. But I also think, you know, not everyone digs female vocals on KMFDM material. They weren't as prominent before she joined. So there's that.

I decided to give KMFDM's last album, Paradise, a listen just because I haven't. And, like, on the song "Oh My Goth," I think her vocals are rather nice.

But then on the eponymous track Paradise, she's screeching and it's really not pleasant. The same album has a weird take on "Megalomaniac" (edit: corrected song title) called "Megalo." Um, no thanks. But it is one of the least offensive tracks on the album. I don't care for the other tracks. Even the one track with Raymond Watts on it feels a bit weak.

I'm listening to the album before that one now: Hell Yeah. And... Hell Nah. I didn't like it.

I went to go listen to PIG again to wash it out of my ears and I think "Pain is God" has instantly grown on me as a result.

Jesus. I don't hate the current KMFDM or anything but... Jesus. They've been trucking on for a long time. Sascha Konietzko's in his sixties now. When he outputs ain't bad for an old guy. But Raymond Watt's also in his sixties. So I'm gonna use him to wash this stuff out of my head now.

You're preaching to the choir, sister. My buddy put me onto KMFDM back in high school, and Nihil and Xtort were the soup du jour at that time. Nothing that came after that ever managed to grab me like those did.

Ever hear Slick Idiot? That was a KMFDM legacy band of a sort. I owned their first album, but I'd be lying if I said I could remember any of the songs.

I want to say I have but I don't recall. I remember looking up a lot of KMFDM adjacent stuff like Schwein and Schaft several years back and not finding a whole lot readily available. I know I found some stuff but I don't recall if that was Slick Idiot or something else. Now that YouTube has way more music available on it than ten years ago, I think I need to go down that rabbit hole again.
