Oh yeah I know. I mean I could sum up everything that happened in The Master that played into New Generation in one sentence. I've seen all of Robotech before, but this is just kinda an OCD type thing. Besides I'm already on the New Generation which I really, really enjoy.
And Yeah I was want to see Macross Plus and Macross 7 for that matter. I like the idea of sequels to Macross even though I've never seen any. Kinda wish they have done what Voltron did and go back and order more episodes of the show from the same animation company rather then trying to fit other anime together. (although we did get vehicle Voltron...which did really bad if I remember right. People loved the Lions.) but alas....they didn't.
I always heard the vehicle-based show was better. But I wasn't ever into Voltron of any stripe, so that's all I've got on the subject.
I've never watched Macross 7...all I know is that it's about Max and Milia's daughter and the band she's in, and that it's somewhat silly but still well regarded. I'm not so sure that I would like it that much, though.
Macross II, however, should be avoided like the plague...it's pure D crap that was relegated to alternate universe status by the masterminds of the franchise.
Macross Plus is wonderful...again, I preferred the movie, but the OVA is easier to find and is also excellent. I wish we could get an HD release of either or both in North America, because I haven't found it online with the excellent English dub.
Macross Zero was much fun (linked to a spoiler-y review of my own devising). It's essentially a very pretty prequel to the original Macross series set during the Unification Wars and the reconstruction of the Super Dimensional Fortress Macross. Great show that gets a little preachy from an ecological POV.
The Macross Frontier series was very good, as was the first movie, but I haven't started the second one yet. Character and mecha design was really good, as was the soundtrack and recorded numbers, and the progression was fluid, even if the nature of the enemy was not very clear. It was a bit by the numbers, but I still liked it a lot.
You already know my feelings of Macross: Do You Remember Love. If not, I love it above all other anime. It's a retelling of the original series that is actually viewed in-continuity during Macross 7 as a popular motion picture that commemorates the events of the Space War I.
My ranking of them in terms of personal favorite would be as follows:
DYRL>Plus>Original series>Frontier=Zero>>>>>>>>>>>>>MacII. Since I've not seen Mac7 I didn't list it.
Let's...

I've got something similar, but I mainly use it for pre-recording radio spots.
