Hellsing Ultimate makes a good argument for wishing the Japanese DVD industry as a whole to commit seppuku. All their stuff is like that, and they want us to settle for it, as well. Plus, they only release it on a somewhat yearly basis. But I don't know how that works now, since Geneon was helping pay for that, and they, like, died a couple years back. Funimation did the fourth and re-issued the first three, but the most recent installments haven't made it over here. Hopefully that means Funimation is planning to make a more sensible release format. I hope so...it's good stuff.

I'm currently re-watching GTO. That's pending the Netflixing of the second half of Dragonaut, which I describe best as "pretty crap" but like it anyway.

Merla insisted on watching Devil May Cry, so I saw more of it. I was on my laptop and not really paying attention to it, but I still had to leave the room before I officially became clinically retarded. Granted, the fourth (I think) episode was actually something I was able to sit through but the lingering smell of stupid still permeated the room.

The first Neon Genesis Evangelion movie was pretty nice.

Action packed, pretty close to the original, had some differences, and well drawn.

The few changes weirded me out though. I don't know how I felt about the changes with the blue cube angel. Don't know if I like that or not.

The previews for movie 2 show a 5th and 6th Eva... WTF.....

When did they ever say, "this is it"? They've been pumping this thing like crazy since it became a hit fifteen plus years ago. The cool thing is that, starting with movie #2, the storyline diverges significantly from the old one, as hinted at the end of the first and in the preview.

I stumbled across Space Runaway Ideon: Be Invoked. I had no freaking clue what was going on yet it caught my interest given the insane amount of violent-space battle-doom-death. It ended kinda like Evangelion did, 'cept this predated it. Epic, but I'll have to backtrack. :3

You're right. Anno has in fact stated that he wrote Evangelion partially as a homage to Ideon. Homage or rip-off? Who's to say?

It is not an anime, but I recently finished Twin Peaks (from 1990, I was not watching the restaurant).

Overall, I enjoyed the series, but there were so many pointless plot lines, and one character who was incredibly pointless:

Pussy Biker James Hurley.

I made this post only to bitch about what a stupid fucking character he is. I can only imagine they kept him past the first five or six episodes because girls were swooning for him. He had no real affect on the plot line after the first season (and little in it as well). I wish Billy Zane had shown up earlier to punch him with his Phantom ring.

I hate James Hurley. Horrible fucking character.

So me and my liebe were at the japanese supermarket and I saw... I don't even remember what the fuck it was, I think it was a little mirror or some eyelashes curler or something...of Versailles no Bara and I got so excited, cause that anime is from the freaking 70's and seeing something like that right now is like wow...anyways, he laughed and called me a weeaboo -_-

The only anime I'm watching is still Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's still going strong, which probably means it's gonna end soon since the manga's getting pretty damn close and the anime's really catching up.

I guess I'm going to have to ask someone to send it to me from Peru. it'll be like 20 bucks for the whole show. Then again thats the exact same thing I did before and I got most of the dvds in blank :-/
The bad thing is that if they are online they'll probably be subbed. And I'm ok with it BUT I love their voices in spanish <3

At least Hellsing Ultimate made me look more kindly on the first Hellsing's low points. The only thing Devil May Cry did was make me want to call Papa John's.
