I have one of the Dish intergrated DVR thingies now, so I can set a timer to record it and then watch it later. I wish PA would subtitle the signs and stuff. People are staring at stuff in shock and I don't know why. And why did Futurama leave and then come back?

I think Futurama is their token basic show. Kind of like 99% of restaurants having hamburgers.

Allegedly, PA will have the subtitles going this week, but that was the word last week. It's a favorite gripe at Toonzone.

Thought about getting DVR, but it's the same problem with tapes: I forget to watch it later. Besides, I have fun dreams when I fall asleep to anime. Sunday morning I dreamed I was riding bitch on a motorcycle with Lupin & we went through a plate glass window.

I dunno about you but me and tapes, if I don't watch it, I end up losing it or needing the space for something else. And I have loads of tapes to sort through, some of them with five and half hours of junk and a half-hour of treasure stuck in the middle. I could always copy them onto a tape all-together, but the quality could be vastly degraded because I record in EP/SLP. It's so much easier to scroll through the DVR and find what you need as oppose to shifting through tapes. And it's so easy to program. It's a relief to be free of the headache of programming a VCR and I'm one of those people who can actually program a VCR. If I want to transfer anything to a tape later, I can do that, too. I've had it for less than a month, and I highly recommend it.

Tell me about it. We could build a room addition with tapes like that. I even have a Beta tape full of Battle of the Planets. But that's good stuff to know, Nur. We'll give DVR some serious thought when hockey season starts, assuming there is one. <_< I'm tired of paying $150 for the NHL package & still having to choose between games.

With the NHL package, we get feeds for all the games on a particular night, each on a different sports channel. Usually at least two will be at the same time or overlapping, so we can pick one and tape the other (and never get around to watching it) or have different games on & run back & forth from the living room to the bedroom. Lazy as it sounds, I think having DVR just a remote button away will inspire us to actually watch what we record.

Oh I see. Here, as long as no one's watching in the bedroom, I can record from the signal there (using the same remote as I use to watch TV in the living room) and watch in the living room. Otherwise, if someone else wants to watch TV I'm stuck watching what I record.
