I'm told I have no accent. However, if I listen to someone else with an obvious accent/speech pattern long enough, I have to be careful to not start mimicking it.

I have a friend married to a Columbian. He went ape shit about something Xmas eve 8 years ago and took a baseball bat to all the presents & the tree. She ran her pregnant self outside, grabbed their two huskies and got to a neighbors' while he was distracted with the rampage & called the cops. They've been divorced for a while now, but she won't be entirely rid of him until their daughter turns 18.

On the plus side, the kid is bilingual, as he's the only one in the family who speaks English.

When I first moved here, my Spanish teacher was Columbian. She didn't speak a word of English, and always was drinking Coca Cola. I swear, Hispanics love Coke.

I work with this dude. And thank the heavenly father he's stationed at the other campus so I hardly have to deal with him. He's Columbian and such an @$$! He is always monopolizing my time and that of my co-workers. My bosses were doing him some favors and he didn't seem to understand this. So when they were not around he became very demanding toward the rest of us, treating us like a bunch of dummies. Half the time I couldn't do what he wanted because I was alone and I cannot leave my station when I am alone and he would get upset and nasty when I tried to explain this to him. My bosses had their boss's boss tell him to leave us alone.
