Well, outside of holidays and family gatherings, it can be tough to get a bunch of people together in the same place just so they can goof off for a few hours. People be busy and shiaaaaaa.

Picked it up this evening and I'm enjoying it.

I have some minor gripes, some of the mechanics bug me; cage matches feel almost broken, hit detection and reversals are wimpy at times and the magnetic jumps from the ropes are just fucking weird--oh and the load times are odd and terrible (load, first entrance, load, second entrance, long ass load, match?!). None of that, oddly, breaks the game nor does it stop it from being fun.

Planning on taking the game over to a friend's tomorrow. Half of me is afraid that if I play online, I'll run into some redneck who's all about John Cena and I'm just not ready for that shit...

Once you've seen all the entrances once, it's best to just turn them right off in the options.

The fact that that is an option says a lot about the load times, and the development team's obvious awareness of them.

Why is there no full install? Maybe it's just inherently bad design, because I don't think the loads on the demo were all that shit hot either.

If they focused on gameplay and didn't have enough focus left for load times, then I'm probably okay with that, if the gameplay is good. I still haven't tried the demo.

I'm trying to play the Heroclix Online Beta, but no one seems to be on when I am, so that's not working out so far.

I want that allstars game too. I need to get good at the game first then I'm gonna get online and make people rage quit by calling them fat shits and talking about how much better I am than them IRL while simultaneously owning them at the game.

I've decided most rage quits aren't actually that. There's an achievement for winning 10 consecutive matches online, but if you quit out after losing, but before the stats screen, the match doesn't count.

So I'm guessing most people are just trying to cheese that achievement.

It's still a pissy thing to do, but I get it.

I've been playing the fuck out of Donkey Kong Country Returns. DKCR is by far the best fucking platformer on the wii. NSMBWii aint got shit on this game. They should really let Retro make the next 2-D Mario. Fuck they should let them dudes do anything. I guess I need to give Metriod Prime a second chance.

Layout, mostly. Though on the 360 you don't always have a 'recommended based on blah blah blah' playlist. It shows up part of the time only. On the PS3 there are subcategories and there is a recommended for you inside of some of the categories.

I also like the 360 video controls and text entry for search. more (or I might just be more used to them).

Final Fantasy IV complete, mofos! Does this mean I can throw away my Wii? This game is great. Keeps all the classic gameplay with improved graphics. Curious to see if they'll keep any of the GBA changes in the end game.

They kept the "You spoony bard" line...
