I played Slay the Princess. Kind of a choose your own adventure type thing. Seems like there's a load of different outcomes, but I feel like if I were to go back through it again, I'd just be trying to force alternate events by playing against character. Maybe I'll revisit it somewhere down the line.

I thought that game had been out a while but it occurs to me that it was probably a demo.

I finished Alan Wake II. Really excellent, although I'm not sure it dethrones their previous game Control. Either way, I'm looking forward to whatever it is Remedy decides to do next.

Fate Samurai/Remnant has a remarkable lack of pig-throwing.

Yeah, my interest in that one fell off a cliff when I realized Omega Force was the developer. No thank you.

I saw a random vid of someone I semi-watch playing Armello with his friends and got so annoyed by him playing poorly that I installed Steam so I could play my copy of the game. I haven't re-visited the multiplayer aspect, this game is several years old now, but I can't imagine this thing would have an active lobby anymore.

Kind of annoyed I have to re-unlock shit I already achieved in 2016 just because I'm using a different computer. But whatever.

Steam is supposed to store backups of your saves on their end, but not all games do for some reason, and some games that say they support it don't actually. I lost several years of progress on a certain game when I got a new PC, and that kind of killed my desire to stick with it.

Boo. That's dumb. Armello isn't even like a game with true progress. I'm just re-unlocking equipable accessories. Oh, well. Gives me something to do.

Not playing Persona 3 Reload but watching other folks play. That way I can fast-forward through the slog (stupid social links, grinding shit, and academics bs). Love the music in these games. The UI looks gorge. Don't see why they couldn't have included the cute girl protag in the remake tho'...

Watching people play Unicorn Overlord. The gameplay looks super-interesting and I like the art overall (except for the inflato-titties) but I can see people getting turned off by the level of micro-managing. The story is meh and the title is puke. The supports all should've been voiced.

I'm interested in Unicorn Overlord, but I've never been a strategy buff. I'd probably just set it to easy and steamroll everything, so I might as well wait for a sale.

From all of the streams I've been watching, Expert mode for difficulty is too easy. Don't know if you're a difficulty whore or not but the highest difficulty is locked behind beating the game once. I forget if that's on Expert specifically or if it'll unlock under other modes. One guy I'm semi-watching is trying to speed through all of Expert while another guy steamrolled the boss for a bad ending (I forget if he used cheats or not) and is doing his actual playthrough under the highest difficulty.

Otherwise, if you don't care, there's like three other modes under Expert to play under.

I've been on the fence about grabbing the third season pass for Guilty Gear Strive, but now that they've revealed the next character, I have no choice:

Does Infinite Craft count as a game?  ;D  I've been messing with that a lot and trying to find certain words.

I've also started my first Fire Emblem randomizer although I had to pause it when I got sick. (I'm only three maps away from the ending.) I've always wanted to do one of these but I didn't want to bother with the homework on how to randomize a rom. But now Yune's been out it and it just makes this shit super easy.

I randomized Fire Emblem Binding Blade and two of my dudes randomized in girl snipers that basically rip the enemies apart. My wyvern rider guy randomized into a girl nomad (a girl with a horse and bow, my favorite class in this game) and he was pretty good, too. I did have a couple of dudes randomize into male archers but most of the male classes in my rom got cursed movement. Around 4 for a bunch of them while female archers, pegs, and mages all got around 7 or 8 and could grab all the exp.

My dancer also randomized into a girl nomad. The problem with dancers though is their strength growth is dogshit so unless they randomize with a high starting strength stat, they chip at best or do no damage at all at worst. Normal people would bench this character. But because it's my favorite class, I naturally arena-grinded her into thirty levels (which earned me a shit-load of gold) and then fed her a bunch of energy rings from the Secret Shop to max out her strength. And now she hits like a truck.

I'd fallen off the gaming bandwagon for quite some time...just catching some emulated 8- and 16-bit goodness for the most part with an occasional bout of Burnout Revenge on the newly-configured and finally figured out Xbox emulator.

Then I developed trigger thumb rather suddenly and pretty much lost the majority of use of my left hand (basically anything requiring an opposable thumb) for a few months. A week out of having surgery, and the prognosis is good...I can actually press a d-pad without sharp stabbing pain (now just sore aching pain which should subside soon, or so I'm told).

So I'm looking forward to picking up Undefeated, which is a game some startup group did for Steam some years ago. It's a not-Superman video game that's actually reputed to be pretty good. They're an official company now and working on a sequel, but they've released the original on PS5 for free to gen up interest. I may be playing it before long, being a Superman nerd from way back. That, or AstroBot.

I've played a few hours of Beastieball and fuck is it ever fun. It's basically Pokémon, but instead of having your little guys beat the shit out of each other, here they're beating the shit out of each other with a volleyball. It sounds stupid, but they really pulled it off.

Also, the monster designs evoke Pokémon without being agonizingly derivative of Pokémon. Looking at you, Palworld.

Well, the Big N has proceeded to sue them into oblivion, so you likely won't hear much about them ever again.

BTW, since I haven't said it lately: fuck Nintendo.
