River Song started out as so awesome and just lost points everytime I saw her. Not in a big way but they were just progressively chipped at with every subsequent appearance. I guess if I stuck her on there, I'd put her just behind Donna. Rose the character actually goes below Martha but as a companion I think she went along better with the doctor.
And Torchwood... I don't know if I can sit and watch it. I don't like anyone but Jack. I was excited to see Indira Varma and then she goes and dies. The Japanese chick and White Guy #3 (I don't remember his name, the one that's not Jack or Ianto) are decent enough but nothing about them really makes me care. Gwen is kinda irritating. I'm confused as to why she was invited into Torchwood in the first place. Her boyfriend/husband and Ianto aren't exactly favorites of mine either. I do know spoilers, so I don't know if I really want to make an investment as far as watching future episodes. It feels like a show that's trying to be more grown up and serious than Doctor Who but is going about it in a juvenile way. I haven't jumped ship yet but it could be another Firefly where I stop giving fucks and just never pick it up again. The Doctor Who tie in helps though. I'll probably continue with it anyway.
Speaking of Firefly, I did try watching Serenity. I just can't get into this universe. I swear, there was this one scene where Mal (I think that's his name) was talking to various members of the crew one at a time and ever other sentence someone said (no matter who it was) had to be some speedily said quip. I can't stand when shows do that shit. Gina Torres is awesome, I really wanted to like it but meh.
