I'd never seen Dexter before but I caught like 10 minutes of it the other day.  They had this one cop on that looked like a cartoon character.  I mean that literally.  He looked like Bullock or the cop from Bonkers.  People take this show seriously?  It's a little more Parks and Rec than I expected, and I mean that to say it is detached from reality.

It's narrated from the mind of a serial killer who is killing other killers. Would you expect it to be grounded in logic?
I didn't expect anything really, but I expect the show to take place in reality.  The naration is irrelevant.  I don't believe the visuals of the show are meant to be recreated based on the perception and reinterpretation of this mad man.  I can perfectly accept a weird narration juxtaposed to real events.

I never felt compelled to even try Dexter.  Maybe if it were on streaming I'd try an ep or something but there's nothing about it that makes me want to go out of my way to see it.

I did try Walking Dead.  Decent show and I see why people like it.  I'm personally not a zombie-person so I'm not sure I'll continue to tune in.  We'll see, I guess.

Has anyone here read the books? There are some pretty major differences compared to the show, and the third book diverges completely. I haven't watched the last season, or any of this season, and the fourth book sucked hard, so I think I'm done with Dexter.

Never read the books but if you watched season 4 of Dexter you watched far enough. Nothing interesting happens after that

I LOVE The Walking Dead. The show had its slow moments (and I HATE Lori), but just like in the comics it seems that things will start to get really intense now that they've reached the prison.
Don't really see Walking Dead as a zombie story either, more as a (post-)apocalyptic tragedy. Like Rick says in the comics, it's not the zombies who are the walking dead.

The show has its faults but it's still a pretty good adaptation of one of the few comics I like. I'd be happy if when the 100 Bullets tv adaptation ever sees the light of day it'd be only half as good as the WD.
After The Boardwalk Empire it's my favorite current show.

My show for the moment is Sons of Anarchy.  This season is chugging away and I certainly hope we keep going at the current pace and continue to shake things up.  There's some characters here that have really worn out their welcome.  I liked the Jimmy Smits character when I thought he had a long con going on.  But it seems he's just a gullible idiot after all.  So I hope he dies by the end of the season.  Apparently, Dave Navarro's gonna have a guest stint.  I'm already disappointed we didn't get to see Ashley Tisdale die so they better make up for it.  At least by offing Joel McHale.

My next show's gonna start up next week: RuPaul's Drag Race Allstars.  So that'll be fun to watch that on Tues and then watch that evening's ep of Sons later on.

Sons of Anarchy is a pretty good show too.
I like how the writer seems to try to have everyone from the Shield guest star at least once. Last week's guest bit by Walton Goggins was hilarious.

I saw some people really flabbergasted by his fake boobs when the boobies were probably the easiest part of the whole illusion.  What I don't get is how the hell that one duder was actually able to bite through jeans and tear into Tig's ass.  Yowch.

Ok, how did they do the fake boobs? I've seen boobs on RuPaul's Drag Race that don't look that real.

It's a breast form aka a boob plate.  They sell different ones of varying qualities of course.  You can get ones that secure around the neck with velcro (but you need a necklace for those to hide the seam) or you can get ones that stick to your chest (which is likely the one Walt Goggins had on).  And then you use make-up to blend it to your skin tone and hide the seam.  Here's an example: http://www.thebreastformstore.com/breast-forms-real-breasts-pro.aspx  For over a cool grand, I don't imagine a lot of drag queens would be inclined to have several sets unless they were bringing in really good dough.  (Because they also need that money for make-up, clothes, shoes, etc.)  A lot of the RuPaul queens use the necklace ones (big boobs and a necklace on? yup), use tape and make-up to create the illusion of breasts, stuff their bras, some combo of the last two, or just go flat (like Raja).

Here's an example of the one you secure around your neck, pricey but cheaper than the other one I linked above and look more like the boobs you'd see a lot on Drag Race: http://www.dragqueenboobs.com/how-to-order.html

And while I'm on the subject...

*&(&*$%^()(__@#$@%$#^!!! Goddammit!  RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars put up a preview of the first episode and they did a real shitty thing: they forced all the queens to pair up with the losing pair both going home although only one lip syncs for their team.  So the ending wasn't revealed in the preview, but one cool queen got paired up with a really inferior one who shouldn't even be on the show and now they both go home.  (It's as good as true since the opposing team is seen in another outfit and thus survive the round.)  Boo.  At least there's Rujubee.

But what kind of All Stars show forces people to compete in pairs?  BLECH.

Super Robot Red Baron.

You guys all love anime, but I can only mildly get behind that. But I love me some Tokusatsu. I only wish I knew where to get a sub version of Super Robot Mach Baron, this show's sequel.

I don't love anime anymore.

I watched all of Kamen Rider Hibiki, and it was awesome. I thought it would be a new hobby, but none of the Kamen Riders after Hibiki appealed to me at all. I don't know if that's because Hibiki is just better, or if it's because all Kamen Riders are essentially the same and when you've seen one, you've seen them all.

I want to say it's because Hibiki struck a perfect balance between taking itself seriously and making a complete mockery of its characters and the genre.

Now I want to say I don't hate anime. I do like it. It is just that it is really hit or miss and most of it is miss these days. Even ones I really like like Fullmetal, or Cowboy BeBop still don't hold me over long periods of time. Anime just isn't something I go looking for new ones to try. If someone says "Oh this is pretty good. You might like it." I might give it a try if I can find easy. It just not something I go out of my way to find anymore.

I've only seen a little of Kamen Rider stuff and it was way back in the 90s, so I don't know much about that series. Didn't much care for what I saw though.

I try to keep tabs on new anime, if it's visually striking, or the premise sounds somehow unique or interesting, I'll give it a shot. More often than not I won't go beyond the first episode.

None of it clicks with me anymore, and I'm fine with that.
