It's only nearly thirty years old.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

On a whim I bought the first season of M*A*S*H over the weekend.

I had quite a surprise: the option to play the episodes without a laugh track. Considering that laugh tracks are the worst thing to ever happen to television, I jumped right in as soon as I saw that option. So far, I'm loving it. It's like watching a whole new show.

Bravestar.

thoughts?

I'd seen it before. But they had like 10 episode for 3 bucks at Wal-Mart, so I thought what the hell. I remember the theme song being better then it is. It is really just like He-Man only with an old west theme. Would have been cool to see a cross over, but I think they have stopped making He-Man before this show came out. Still would have been nice to just link the shows in some way.

On the whole though the shows holds up pretty well, maybe even a little better then He-Man. I was using this to see if it would be worth picking up the whole series, and I think I will. I enjoyed it. Kinda wish I hadn't paid so much to get all the He-Man toons a few years back. Could get the whole series for what I paid for Season 2 part 2.

I haven't watched Bravestarr since The Day, but...old-school He-Man is very popular with my 7 year-old niece. She's seen every episode twice, the movie several times, and has received MOTUC figures for Christmas.

That's awesome. Why can't all kids be that cool?

That's awesome. Why can't all kids be that cool?

I nearly died when I dropped by one day and she had MOTUC He-Man in the doll house, lying in the bed under the covers...with Barbie. This precious, innocent child had absolutely no idea of the gratuitously inappropriate yet utterly hilarious thoughts instantly pelting my imagination at the mere sight of this scene. Good thing, too...she simply didn't understand why I had doubled-over from laughter and was unable to speak for several minutes. I think I scared her at first.

But, just as funny as that was the fact that Ken was lying face-down on the floor next to the bed. I asked why this was, and she told me quite matter-of-factly that He-Man had walked in, knocked him out, and went straight to bed.

You can't make this sort of thing up.

Whatever her parents are doing, they need to write it down so other parents can have an awesome kid, too.

I, too, must applaud her awesomeness.  Even children know that Ken doesn't belong in Barbie's bed.

Honestly, it seems more likely that him and Prince Adam would share one.

Cringer.

I noticed that three eps of Secrets of the Dead is on Netflix streaming and one ep was one I hadn't seen before.  I admit, I got a little more excited for that than I probably should've.   :D

What is Secrets of the Dead?

It's PBS investigation type show. I've watched it from time to time, but don't watch PBS nearly as much as I use too.

^ Yes, it's that, usually researching some sort of historical figure or event.  I really liked The Silver Pharaoh and the Slave Ship Mutiny and both of those are streamable.  Also, the one on Herculaneam was pretty good.  (Pompeii died slowly but these people were immediately fried to death by Vesuvius.)  That one's on the PBS website though.
