I'm also not pissed at the end of GOT. It was fine.

Doom Patrol is fun, but I'm still irked as I try to understand why nobody ages in that show. Well, other than Cliff, which is obvious. Half of them are, like, 80-something years old. Except for Niles, who's well over a hundred, and Cliff who's 98% physically dead and Cyborg who only halfway is.

It's actually explained in the last two episodes (mostly, sort of, you do have to do some of the math). I love that the show doesn't explain stuff and that they aren't particularly worried about the weird stuff being a turn-off (like the butts).

I was fine with how GOT ended for the most part, more annoyed at how the speed at which they got there didn't feel like natural storytelling.

Yeah, I watched the most recent episode last night, which explained things sufficiently. Looking forward to season 2...there's still a lot of questions to answer.

Do you fans think they should've just stopped? I'm just thinking if I were a fan of a book series that got turned into a show, I'd want them to stop when they ran out of shit to adapt. Wrap up what you got and hopefully everyone will be available for a mini-series whenever the author finishes it. But oh, well, gotta milk that sweet cash cow, I guess.
I actually would have preferred them to begin the series AFTER GRRM finished the damn books, but since it's looking like he's going to die before he even finishes the next book, it probably wasn't worth waiting.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

Doom Patrol was pretty rad. I think I had dirt in my eyes for a few of those episodes.

The first episode of Swamp Thing seemed promising.

With how shit is going with this service right now, I'm worried we won't see a second season. Titans looks like it's still moving so that's maybe a good sign. I also love that the actors in Doom Patrol seem to genuinely love the show.

I'd basically call the show done for now. There's been no signal that they're going to continue it anywhere else, and it may not be easy to pull everyone back together if they let too much water run under the bridge.

They are having a panel at SDCC but that could just be to promote the blu-ray release of the season.

Doom Patrol was renewed for a second season and weirdly will be on both HBO Max and DC Universe simultaneously. Not much has been said though it was stated they will have to deal with a "small" issue left over from last season.

Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance was pretty good. It captures a lot of the spirit of the original film and expands upon it.

Legion season 3 is just as fucky weird as the first two seasons. They seemed to have dropped the pretense of David being a hero and I think it makes the show stronger.

Titans season 2 is not starting out as strong as I'd like. I really liked season 1 but the acting is not at its best in season 2, particularly for Rachel/Raven. Only one episode out so far, so I'll at least try another one, especially since this first episode felt like it was just wrapping up the first season's finale.

Also watched Swamp Thing. Sucks that it fell apart behind the scenes because I actually enjoyed it a good bit.

Archer 1984 ended in a way that makes me think he's finally coming out of a coma, which I can't decide whether that's good or bad.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is cool. The third "season" ended in a fairly crazy way. (I put that in quotes because I'm 90% sure the second and third season were produced at the same time and could have been released at the same time). I saw that Kevin Smith is doing a new He-Man series but his is tied to the old show. I honestly kind of don't care. I want new He-Man in the new She-Ra style.

CW DC shows are back on again. Supergirl feels kind of meh so far this season but the new costume (now with pants!) is pretty good. The Flash is decent but I think I might be worn out of this show. Batwoman is starting pretty cheesy but I don't hate it. Black Lightning... I don't know exactly how I feel about it yet. I like that BL and his kids are getting drawn apart from each other, differing goals and priorities and viewpoints and such. Remains to be seen what they really do with that, though. Can't wait for the Crisis. I'm so far out of watching Arrow, I'm certainly not going to start now. Maybe after it finishes completely, I'll bother binging in but probably nah.

Looking forward to His Dark Materials starting next week. Meaning to watch Watchmen as well but haven't. Heard it is starting good, though (except for silly people complaining about politics in a TV show that's serving as a sequel for a comic book that totally didn't have any politics in it /s).

Also, watched the newest season of Call the Midwife with my wife. That show emotionally breaks me over and over again.

I'm on for the Crisis, but the only weekly I'm watching is Flash and Legends. Is Legends even on yet, though? I haven't seen it...it's the only one I actually look forward to as Flash has gotten stale. With that show I'm just about where I was when I finally decided Arrow wasn't worth putting up with anymore. I never saw the first two seasons of Supergirl, so I'm not interested in onboarding. Batwoman just doesn't appeal to me...it comes across to me as Lesbian Arrow. I didn't start on Black Lightning since it was disconnected from the others, but now I wish I had...but it's not worth me catching up with it at this point.

Legends starts when Black Lightning drops off, except we're getting an episode with Crisis. I think I might need to watch Arrow this season because I saw a preview that had the Monitor in it and now I'm like shit... am I missing anything? Hopefully not.

Black Lightning still isn't connected, beyond what's going to happen in Crisis. I don't really think they're putting them together. Kind of like how Supergirl is a different world but they sometimes connect, except I expect BL to not be connected outside of this and maybe other big crossover events. It feels like its own thing.

Still not sure if BW is in a different universe than all the others, or if it's connected to Supergirl. I think its not connected, though. Really makes it easier for worldbuilding, I guess, since you could have Gotham or Metropolis in one world without being like, "wait, what's Batwoman doing while they're there?"

And now we're hearing about more Berlanti shows on HBO Max, a Green Lantern show and a show that seems to be peeks at various stories in the DC multiverse. Who knows if those will be loosely connected as well. I'm wondering if some of the crisis stuff we've heard about might be a peek at the latter of those ideas.

Titans on the whole still seems pretty good but boy are they milking the idea that the OG Titans really don't like each other that much as a whole, and nobody wants to let the new Titans do anything. There were a couple of really great episodes this season but I'm worried its going to get worse as we near the end of the season.

I've been holding off on Titans S2 until it's all available. That's what I did with S1, and I think it probably mitigated the bad taste that would have otherwise been left by weaker episodes.

Word is that the Prime Superman in the Crisis will be Christopher Reeve. So they might as well have played Supermon and brought in Dean Cain, John Newton and Gerard Christopher...gotta catch them all!

The Mandalorian is extremely St*r WarzzZZ. I'm enjoying it. Great score as well. It certainly piles on the Western/Samurai inspirations of St*r WarzzZZ.

Disney+ is US only right now, I believe. More countries get it on the 19th and then more in January.

I have the service. I'm mostly using it as a way to watch Straw Wars stuff but there's a decent amount of content at launch.

I thought Mandalorian was getting to be a bit shit, but the sixth episode was pretty damn good.

Watchmen was glorious. Absolutely bizarre how good it ended up being considering Alan Moore had zero involvement.

Dark Materials is so fucking dull. Holy shit, man. What the actual fuck.

Got around to the Witcher. I think others have said this, but it feels a bit like the eventual evolution of the Raimi fantasy shows from the 90s. It's fun, at times it's really quite good, but the underlying frame of the show is pretty cheesy. Overall, I do like it but I totally get it when others say it was boring. Very surprised at how good they mad Henry Cavill look with grey hair, though he did look uncomfortable in most episodes. Like his gear wasn't fit well and was pinning his arms out.

Watching Picard and enjoying it. Not much to say about it. Like Discovery, its vastly different than the Star Trek shows that came before, so it's hard to compare it to other ST shows. The ongoing story is such a change. I'm not sure I'll enjoy the season as a whole yet but I've had fun with it so far.

Magicians season 5 isn't as good as previous seasons so far, IMHO. I never particularly liked Quentin as a character, but he sort of was glue between the other characters. Some of them working together now makes very little sense, and the only reason it did before was because Quentin was like a bridge between them. I'm curious where they go with it. And curious about this horrifying misogynistic pig-man.

Picard overall finished fairly good, with some WTF caveats. Lol we completely dropped watching Magicians, will probably binge the final season at some point in the future. We also have completely forgotten to watch Westworld, but season 2 was mediocre.

I was worried about how well Clone Wars season 7 would be, because the first set of episodes were pretty good but not spectacular, the second set were okay but so focused on one character that it was hard to have anything interesting occur. The final set, The Siege of Mandalore, is really fucking good. It feels cinematic.

The ending of the "new" She-ra was stupid. The whole "new story" was stupid and plagued with tumblr-like shit, very much like Steven Universe. Im pissed they shat all over such a classic just so Hollywood can show their pro-lgbt agenda down our throats (btw im not against same sex couples, but im against them taking straight characters and making them lgbt just because. I'm wondering if the Kevin Smith MOTU restart is going to suck or not. When I heard "anime-style" my behind puckered involuntarily for about twenty minutes. Then I saw the vocal team, and it's a bunch of people I had no idea did voiceovers (with a few notable exceptions). And it's Kevin Smith, so it's going to be cracked in some form or fashion.

I didn't really watch it- watch IT, more like my kids watched it and I just glanced at it once in a while mostly to complain about the fuck-ups. One funny thing tho is that there was an episode with Bow's family, and I wasnt really paying attention but they introduced Bow's dad and brother. Well thats what I thought. Just found out some days ago that was his dad and his dad's husband lol. Was this really necessary? nope. Did it fit Netflix's wOkE agenda? yes.

It depends. Is Kevin Smith still cool-20-years-ago kevin Smith or has he gone batshit crazy, like most "used to be cool" people seemingly have become?

Kevin Smith to me was that cool, edgy older guy with an odd sense of humor. And then you grow up and meet him again only to realize he never grew up and everything he does is stunted now. And then you realize it was always stunted but you were too immature at the time to see it yourself.
