Watched Nice Lady, Michelle Wolf's HBO special. Then saw a John Mulaney special on Netflix. Both were pretty good. Oh, and I also watched the Honeymoon Stand Up Special. A bit less funny than the other two but still solid.

I was on a kick of watching stand up for a little bit there. Watched Mike Birbiglia: My Girlfriend's Boyfriend and Thank God for Jokes, Jim Jefferies: Bare, Jimmy Carr: Funny Business, Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping, Craig Ferguson: Tickle Fight, and then a bunch of others that I watched like 15 mins of and stopped because it wasn't funny. I also avoided any stand ups that used a pot leaf background.....which really limited my choices.

I saw another John Mulaney thing on Netflix. Two more of them actually. And I also watched Ali Wong's new special. For a moment, I was legit "shit, it's been two years and you haven't had that baby yet?" Hard Knock Wife wasn't as funny as Baby Cobra but still entertaining. And I also watched Hari Kondabolu. He was pretty decent, I thought. None of this stuff was pee-my-pants funny but I could still kick back with my morning coffee and chill with it.

Now that I've watched almost every other superhero show that's aired, I'm slogging through Agents of SHIELD. I've been told some of the later seasons are really good but I'm on the 3rd season and it's mostly been meh. There's been some cool stuff and some lovely people to watch but nothing has truly piqued my interest. So why am I still watching it? Something to keep on while I'm folding laundry and washing dishes.

Ugh. I gave up on Agents of Shield a long time ago. When Ghost Rider came in it was pretty cool, but I'd have rather just had a Ghost Rider show.....as long as it wasn't Car Rider.

Yeah, I heard that part of the show was really cool so that's part of what's got me continuing.

Also, now that we're pretty sure their next season is their last, there's a tangible end date. That always makes shows more watchable for me, somehow.

The first two seasons of Agents of Shield were utter shit. It picked up afterward but was still marginal. The latter seasons were better, but I've got the last season on DVR and haven't bothered...at this point I may not.

I haven't watched Flash since the midseason break. It drug a lot, and I really didn't want to start on Barry's trial until I knew it wouldn't last forever like the freaking comic did (a freaking year on one storyline...the Antimonitor didn't kill Barry Allen, that trial storyline did). I did finish with Legends which was awesome, and I'm looking forward to next season. I quit Arrow some time back, and I never started Supergirl. Gotham was dropped in the first season. Krypton I said to hell with.

Venture Brothers is supposed to come back this summer. We'll see, but the last couple seasons have been shit. I think they've Archered out and don't have anything left to do.

Supergirl has continued to be surprisingly acceptable.

Gotham has had some really disappointing storylines. Ras, Jerome, but overall it still feels like an okay show to me.

First few seasons of Agents of Shield have felt like "How do we keep Ward as the bad-guy for ANOTHER season?"

The other day I was looking for fresh stand-up to watch and everyone I tried was shit. They were so shit I didn't even bother with their names. Except for Bill Burr but that's because I already know who he is. Wasn't he funny before? I saw what appeared to be a recent stand-up (within the last couple of years, it seemed) and he was an incoherent mess. Like he was off the wagon or something. One of the other people I watched was this Indian comic and his whole schtick was all "I'm Indian. I'm big in India but I'm shit in America" and then the fucking set would move from India to America and back and forth. I found it very jarring. Either do your set in India or do it to America. Stick with one fucking thing. It was so obnoxious to be snapped back and forth. Either show me in your element or show me you're a fish out of water. You can't have both, you ass. And, ugh, there was a guy who actually started his Netflix special reading bland jokes in as bland a voice as possible from cards in his hands. I swear I went through, like, five or six people and then just gave up.

I got to the part of Agents of SHIELD with Ghostrider in it. Yeah, this is definitely improved at this point.

Watched the first episode of Aggretsuko. I love red pandas so even if I didn't like it I knew that I would like it a bit. Brought me some nostalgia from the death metal days of yore. I heard there was a hippo in it. My wife loves hippos. Sadly, the hippo is FUCKING ANNOYING.

Ha ha, that fuckin' hippo. My dad likes hippos, too. Weirdly enough, it's not because they kill so many humans. On the Netflix series, I have to say I liked the metal parts in English. Although if you dig the throatier delivery, the Japanese is better for it.

My God, is Pandora still that repetitive after all of these years? I stopped listening to them a long time ago for that very reason. Slacker was no better last I used it.

I watched the first episode subbed then dubbed (wife dislikes watching in Japanese, I prefer it usually). The difference in some of the lines seemed startling to me.

I finally got to the Ghostrider parts of Agents of SHIELD and I agree that was fucking great. Probably the best part of the show so far.

This wannabe Matrix shit that's coming after that part, though, not so fucking great. It has some cool stuff going on it but it feels pretty weak and the characters are fucking idiots talking about how they aren't in the real world around the people in the simulation, as if that won't freak them the fuck out. Come on. I'll be glad to get past this part of the show.

The Andorians, The Vulcans, The Andorians, all look the same.....Klingons. WTF? And this is after Enterprise went to such great lengths to explain why Klingons look the way they do in TOS, but different in all the other shows and movies.

Yeah, Klingons have looked so different in so many places. I prefer the Worf response, "They are Klingons and it is a long story. We do not discuss it with outsiders."

Far more annoying than their look is their sound. My wife and I both found all Klingon-language scenes incredibly hard to listen to.
