I'm really surprised they did any more of these. I didn't think they'd get past the first one and I was kinda shocked when Prince Caspin showed up.

Somewhat. I mean I could see a studio fearing the backlash from something like that. These are the people that took the America out of G.I. Joe. Course the real heavy can't avoid it, it's a smack in the face and not a metaphor stuff isn't until like the last book.

And also because most people know there was a book called "The Lion, the Witch, and the Waradrobe." but the number that know there were other books drops after that.

The second had very little Christian overtones. It was much more of a childrens 'Two Towers'.

Yeah I've read it. I just didn't think they'd bother with making anything other then the first one since it wasn't as reconizeable as the first book, and I didn't think they'd want to go down a road they didn't have the balls to finish.

The violence made the second my favorite.

I thought they were discontinuing the Narnia films after Caspian supposedly failed to live up to expectations.

But where Christian overtones are concerned in the first flick, whether it's offensive or not is immaterial since they're not pushing theology. Other than that, I don't know...I never read the books.

Kinda going to what Squirrel said, it never felt like any type of agenda was being foisted on me. Although I've also never read the books.

Walden Media is fully intent on going through the entire series. However, because of Caspian's "underperformance" Disney--who was needed to front half of the production costs--wanted to tighten purse-strings. So Walden Media will be working in conjuction with 20th Century Fox instead.

Well I just figured that as soon as Tim Allen came out and yelled at Santa on his roof. Instead of falling off said roof, he'd just mow him down with automatic fire. Since Allen is Disney's bitch and he would be dead the movie would be over. I guess you could follow Santa as he kills everyone that sees him. Hey, maybe that's why no one has ever actually seen him. The orginal ending of "The Night Before Christmas" was Santa putting a Sidewinder missle into that house as he flew out of sight saying Merry Christmas to all and now you're all gonna die.

I still have my set of books from 6th grade - we read them for religion class (Lutheran school). I'll re-read them every other year or so. It does have a theological slant and there are some situations or passages I can point to and say "Christian", but the themes are pretty universal to any beliefs and I didn't find it heavy-handed.

LW & W was probably my least favorite one. I really liked the Silver Chair, the one nobody remembers.

Silver Chair was very memorable in class - we would read a chapter every day silently for the first 20 minutes, than have discussion, blah, blah. One of the characters decides that, in order to fool some enimies, they will all have to "be gay". Another character declares, "All right, gay's the word!" Not the best phrasing for a bunch of 6th-graders: Silence, page turning, then one after another: "SNORTsputtersnickersnicker!!" until Pastor finally asked what was going on and gave a lecture on unforseen shifts in language.
