I think Cap2 was my favorite Marvel movie.  Although I actually haven't seen them all yet.  Just Cap2, the Avengers, and the Iron Mans, er, Men?  Heh.  As far as Thor goes, don't know if want.  And Hulk was never my thing.  I don't know if I care enough to see Cap1.

Cap1 was my favorite Marvel movie. Cap2 might top it, but I'll need to watch them back to back to say for sure...they're definitely my top two. Iron Man 1 is probably tied at third with Avengers, which I'd follow with Guardians. GotG being in my personal top five...it wasn't so bad, now that I think about it, but it wasn't great (just like the first Iron Man, basically). Still better than the latter two Iron Men, both Thors, and any Hulks.

Re: Guardians, the cast was good. I was surprised at Dave Bautista's Drax...he did a great job on the role. But I shouldn't have been shocked, since wrasslers are already half-actors and half-jocks. Rocket wasn't as over the top as others have said: I thought it was well done, though Bradley Cooper was a little too shouty most of the time. Groot was well done, too: probably the best use for Vin Diesel anyone's ever come up with. Zoe Saldana was predictably good in her role: a bit more physical than usual for her, but she pulled it off well. Star Lord was played too silly, but then again that might have been the comic character's personality, too. It was annoying, though. It was good to see Michael Rooker back in movie work. I hate that I only know him from Cliffhanger, where he played a puss.

Ronan was an interesting villain (can't believe it's the same guy who's playing Thranduil in Hobbit), but based on what little I know from the comics, I think he was dispatched too easily, despite the difficulty they had in doing so. He's a recurring Marvel character, so I would expect him to crop up at some point in the future, maybe in Phase 3. Not enough Thanos. His bad bald daughter will be cropping up again, too.

Howard the Duck looked like crap, but much better than the 80's movie version.

Thor 1 was all universe-buildy, but it was a fun exercise...not really a good movie, but I thought it was fun. Of course, Loki was the real star in it, as he was in Thor 2, which gets a solid "meh" from me. It wasn't bad, but it was less good. Suffers mainly from the fact that Loki is Thor's only good nemesis.

Oh, and I saw a doc the other day presented by Chris Rock called Good Hair.  It's about black women's hair.  It was very interesting but it spent too much time on the whole hair competition thing.  Cutting hair upside down and from inside an aquarium and to a marching band?  WOW.  I had no idea weaves were so goddamn pricy.  Or the horrendous chemicals that go into relaxers.

I really liked Cap 1...and Cap 2. Thor was pretty good too...Thor 2 ehhhhhhhhh not so much. And Iron Man 3 was just shit.

I saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Guardians of the Galaxy. I liked both, but on different levels. I felt more emotion from Dawn, but GOG was more fun.

We're going to watch Jumanji with some friends tonight. Their kid hasn't seen it. I don't love this movie, but I do feel like watching Robin Williams, you know, since he died and all.

Last I checked on Instant Watcher, a lot of people are queuing Robin Williams movies.  I don't have that feel.  He was a talent and I didn't dislike the man but I recall reading about his depression years ago and you could see (or hear, whichever) the total desperation in the man which really made his performances uncomfortable.  And I'm not even referring to his dramatic roles.

Have you ever watch the movie One Hour Photo? it is so incredibly good, and sad.

I also have What Dreams May come (which is one of my top fave) but that would DEEEEEFINITELY  not be a good choice to watch.

Never cared for Robin Williams. Thought he was overrated. I hate he died, but I honestly hate Lauren Bacall's passing more, since I actually liked her. Maybe I'll watch The Big Sleep again this weekend....

I read what One Hour Photo was about when it first came out and passed on it.

Incoming tl;dr on Predators:

I saw Predators this weekend.  Not bad but it had room for improvement.  Firstly, the characters were all stock characters pulled out of other movies.  Adrian Brody bordered on being a Gary Stu.

I had a hard time believing the Predators went looking up each and every one of these fuckers--like, REALLY?  Stalking these fucks?  Predator don't care about your spotter, bitch.  Predator don't care you rape hos or get your gangsta on.  Carefully hand-picked prey like that was just nonsensical.  I would think the Predators would just kidnap handfuls of people fighting here and there and then toss them on the planet and hunt them.  Everyone was too random.  Like Carmen Sandiego Predator picked them out on her travels.  If they had been from two (or three) conflicting factions, that might've been far more interesting.  It would've made more sense to have some of these sickos looking out for each other in an instance like that.

Also, I would've liked it better if the Fishburne character was sane and still decided to kill them all.  I understood why he freakin' snapped but it didn't add anything to the movie that way.

The music at end didn't belong.  I know why they did it.  But it didn't belong.  Maybe if they had gotten Marilyn Manson or Rob Zombie or someone like that to cover Long Tall Sally... maybe that would've passed.  As it was, both pieces of music tacked onto the end was very desperate.  "Please like me.  I'm also a movie about Predators.  I'm just as good as the original."  No.  No, you're not just as good.  You're okay.  I won't be calling you again though.

Saw Transformers Age of Extinction the other day.
Still the usual Michael Bay bullshit and Optimus was even more killcrazy than in the last one, but hey who doesn't love giant robots?
And no Shia LaBeouf,  and that alone makes it the best TF movie to date

I stopped at TF.  Eff a Bay.

So I saw Thor the other day.  Decent film.  Not something I'm ever likely to re-watch.  Great for people who didn't know who Thor was or didn't otherwise follow any Marvel continuity.  It didn't tell me anything new and I wasn't missing anything of value by seeing The Avengers before this one.  I should be getting second Thor next.

Saw Mulan.  Not Disney Mulan but a live-action Mulan from 2009 called Mulan: Rise of a Warrior.  It was okay.  Didn't blow me away or anything.  I liked 14 Blades better.
