I'm so tempted to look for that.

So, back to teh thread...

I saw Frozen because Schmoo wanted it in her Netflix queue.  It's like watching a bowl of oatmeal.  So bland that it's utterly devoid of personality.  All of the songs besides Let It Go are utterly forgettable.  Nothing like Aladdin or the Little Mermaid where you come away humming two or three of those tunes.  I don't know why people suck this movie's dick, I really don't.

I also saw Desolation of Smaug.  Which should be renamed Desolation of Snore.  Tauriel needed to be scaled back and Legolas scaled back even more.  Half of this movie should've been cut.  It could've just been put into the inevitable Extended Edition anyway.  The Orcs or whatever have entire scenes to themselves.  I don't want to watch the fuckin' Orcs have a fuckin' dialogue.  And that "one ring" music.  You know the music.  It makes me want to strangle someone.  We freakin' get it: Frodo has the one ring and shit and he's like tempted or whatever.  Even the dragon's shit was too drawn out.  The dragon reminds me of those old people I sometimes get on the other end of the phone at work and you know they have no one to talk to and they're fuckin' lonely so you just listen to them talk out of pity but, really, you'd rather be making a sandwich instead because they have nothing worth saying.  And did the Bard say he was "born and bred" on the water.  He was bred on the water.  I know what he meant but the line came off weird.  Like he wasn't even allowed a bed or sack of potatoes to do his business on.

I saw the GI Joe sequel because it's on Netflix now.  Not the most horrid movie ever but yeesh.  So much awful in it.  There was this thing with eyebrows... like some makeup artist got their first job ever.  The editing was terrible.  Yeah, there's a lot of problems but I'm gonna bitch about editing.  Because there's no reason multiple scenes needed to cut into each other.  Like the night scene when Storm Shadow breaks out Cobra Commander, we leave that scene and return to the joes--who are somewhere else in broad daylight--like three freakin' times.  Just have the dude break out Cobra Commander and THEN have the scene with the joes without cutting away.  And RZA, get the fuck out, you weeaboo.  Also, they wasted Walton Goggins.  And Cobra Commander was channeling Christian Bale's Batman voice.  In other words, the voice sucked.

A lot of what is in the movie wasnt in the book and viceversa so I can see why people that loved the book dont really love the movie.
Legolas was obviously brought in for fan-servicing , as Tauriel (even though I cant find one single person that likes her. Interracial relationship, really? ), as Galadriel, Saruman and the dwarves being hot. They want to appeal people thats why they did it and they got it right.

Smaug was fucking awesome though, dont you deny it!

I like what they've done with the Hobbit.
Sure they added a ton of shit that wasn't in the book but you already knew that when they first announced they were making a little book like that in a major blockbuster trilogy.

At least the second part didn't have all that stuff with Radagast the poopstained

I've never read the book.  I couldn't get past X number of pages.  This just came across as a bloated movie.  Bloat is my enemy and I'm tired of watching movies that are crammed with filler that contributes nothing the momentum of the film.  I just want the thing to get to the bloody point.  A lot of the fanservice came across as this movie stroking itself.  I think they could've had a better balance of everything they wanted to include in this movie and what they wanted this movie to be.  Some of you feel they have achieved this and I do not.  So we'll just disagree.  I'll still watch the last one.  On DVD.  And hopefully someone will cut this sucker into a shorter film for folks like me after the last part comes out.

I saw the 2nd Captain America today.  I liked it for the most part.

I'm dreading the Hobbit 2 Extended Edition. All the first EE had was more of the same extraneous additional stuff that I hated. The only exception was the single scene which should have been included in the theatrical version where Elrond explained to Lindir why he didn't support the Erebor mission. You know, something that's kinda sorta important...way more than watching 12 nasty-ass dwarves skinny-dipping in an elven fountain. I don't think I'm going to buy another EE with more of the shit I hate to get the one odd scene that should have been included to start with.

Elrond's logic was that Thorin's grandpappy was crazy, Thorin's pappy was crazy...so Thorin's probably crazy, too, and will kill himself, his company, and piss off a proven destructive dragon who could ally with the Enemy. Which foreshadowed his angry asshole turn in Immolation of Smaug nicely.

Isn't a thumbs up in the Middle East the same as saying "stick it up your ass"?

Stranded, with Christian Slater.
It was so bad I grabbed the dvd and threw it in the trash (cost 50 cents lol gotta love vietnam)
It is SOSOSOOOOO bad, the scenes that show the outside of the "moon base" are ooooobviously miniatures, I mean its like they didnt want to spend more than 5 dollars on those. You guys should seriously chell any of those scenes out, it is worth it just to cringe.
The only good thing of the movie was Christian Slater. The dude has not aged at ALL, he looks exactly like he looked in Interview with the Vampire, it is seriously amazing.
All the actors suck ass.

Godzilla and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Godzilla was good, but not as good as I wanted it to be. Although the trailer makes you think you are going to see one movie, but then this isn't that movie. Ads kinda lied to you.

X-Men: DOFP is pretty much what I expected. Good, but I like the Marvel Studio stuff better.

I saw The Road to El Dorado.  The Dreamworks cartoon.  What a snorefest.  Chel was the best part of the movie.  Fuck those two dudes that ending up starring it.  The whole movie should've been about Chel.

Watched Maleficent and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Both were enjoyable that I didn't feel bad for spending money on them and I had a rad pizza while watching them at the Alamo Draft House.

Godzilla vs. Destoroyah

This is the one were they kill off Godzilla to make room for the 98 Godzilla movie. Which worked out real well...
