THE MOVIE WAS SO GOOD I CANT EVEN BEING TO EXPLAIN IT. And Legolas holy fuck im crushing hard on him again. Seriously, he has the best fight scenes, total badass. Would bang him and his dad at the same time, not a fuck given (even tho his dad is an ass, nice eyebrows tho)
I seriously wish I went to watch it in 3D. Actually thinking about going again in the next 2 weeks, there are so many scenes that probably look amazing on 3D

Spoilers

fuck Tauriel and fuck her stupid romance with Kili. So gay. Damn you Peter Jackson for making that romance story. And even worse, getting my pure Legolas involved.

I also saw The Hobbit 2 this weekend.

It was pretty good, but they kept changing stuff that didn't need to be changed and it was mostly to shorten stuff. which is ironic in this flick.

Wait until they release the extended versions in a couple of years.

Was Legolas that much of an ass in the book?

I squeeled with elementary-school-girl-glee when Legolas was asking Gloin about the pics and he mentioned Gimli

Legolas wasn't even in the Hobbit book!

Nope. Just his dad was in there. Gimli's dad is in this movie and the book as well. Gloin...the one that won't give up the money till he sees the Lonely Mountain.

Yeah Gloin was funny af

Was Legolas that much of an ass in the book?
Legolas wasn't even in the Hobbit book!
Darn I just remembered I knew that (someone mentioned it before). I feel dumb now.

I actually went to buy the Fellowship book yesterday and they were sold out :(

Went to watch 47 Ronin and I dont know why that movie has so many bad reviews. It has lots of fantasy elements in it yes but the story itself was pretty good. Not 100% true to the real story but gives out the same idea. The story itself is amazing, no wonder japanese are so proud of their heritage.
Keanu was exquisite as always.
When I lived in Tokyo I lived pretty close to the Sengaku-ji temple, it was in my same district (thats where the ronin tombs are). Literally 10 minutes away on bike.

now I miss Tokyo again :(

Btw I saw the trailer for this new chinese movie called The Monkey King with Mr Ip Man himself but it looks so stupid.

In fact, Gimli was around 65 years old when the events of the Hobbit took place. He was considered too young for the quest...the next youngest, Kili, was 77.

For some reason I assumed Fili and Kili were twins

Brothers, but not twins. Fili was the older of the two and was actually Thorin's heir. Filil was 82, and Kili was 77.

And I was wrong about Gimli's age. I looked it up...he was 62 at the time of the Quest of Erebor. Not that it really matters, but still.

For that matter, Aragorn was 10 during the Quest for Erebor, 88 when crowned king, and 210 when he died. He like the rest of those of Numenorean descent seemed to age as antediluvians.

Fili and Kili are Thorin's nephews, and he had no son. Fili was the older of the two, so he was next in line.

Yeah Ive begun reading the book and I love it already. Thorin was definitely less anal in the book than in the movie

Ok So I watched some chickflicks yesterday,

Bridget Jones 1 and 2: I thought it was going to suck but I loved it. Funny as hell and Darcy pulls on my heart strings (sucks that hes dead in the 3rd book now). I still dont understand why Hugh Grant is considered a sex symbol. His character was funny I have to admit.

Notting Hill: It was ok I guess. Still don't understand why Hugh Grant is so zomg hot af

Runaway Bride: Can never go wrong with the Gere/Roberts pairing. They could do a shit movie, I would still love it.(same for Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movies)

This reminds me, I've been meaning to re-watch Joe vs. the Volcano.  I saw it when it first came out but remember nothing about it.  Because I was nine.  And probably too busy partaking of a king-sized Reese's to pay attention.

You saw it in the theater? So did I.

But I remember a Hawaiian lamp that got taken away at work...and an awesome set of floating luggage.

The first movie I saw at the theaters was either Hook or Beauty and the Beast. Not sure.

Watched "The Impossible" and it was a good movie with good effects. But the story, man, no wonder its called the Impossible. When it finished I thought it was all bullshit and checked online for the story cause the ending was just plain impossible. But alas, it did happen the way they show it in the movie.
Its a movie about the Thai tsunami btw

The first movie I saw was either Bambi (a re-release in the early eighties) or E.T....I didn't realize there were wirty derds in the latter until I watched it again as a teen.

The first movie I remember seeing and enjoying in a theater was He-Man: Secret of the Sword.

I have no idea what my first theater movie was.  The earliest I remember is maybe the Aristocats when it was reissued in '87.  I loved that damn movie but, shit, it didn't age well at all.  What a piece of crap.  They recycled fuckin' Baloo.  And stole animation from other movies and drew on top of it.  All the songs except "Everybody Wants to be a Cat" are crap.  Also, some uncomfortable racism there.  Looking at you, alley cats.  The plot was so stupid.  Wait 'til the old bat is dead and then off the damn cats, you stupid butler.  Grow a fucking brain.  No wonder my dad fell asleep during the damn thing.

I remember seeing Return of the Jedi. That would have been 83....maybe 84. Unless it was a re-release. But I also remember having ROTJ action figures and bubble gum cards.

Looked it up and there was a re-release in 85. So it could have been that.

34. I was born in Jan of 80. I would have been really young when I would have seen it, and I just have a long memory.

I got a light saber from the ROTJ market blitz. It was one that made low whistling noises when swung. But I was never much into Retard Wars...my brother actually used it for herding cows, since they apparently didn't cotton to the sound of the thing. I didn't care...watching him chase castle around while swinging a toy sword was entertainment enough.

I still have that light saber, come to think of it.

Okay I corrected this thing about three times before I realized it was the swear filter...well played, hat rabbit...well played.
