I saw Die Hard 5 yesterday, the extended cut (apparantly).
Don't really understand what all the bad press was about. Other than me wanting to punch Willis every time he said he was on holiday, I thought it was quite a decent and entertaining movie.

So the movie is talking shit about the people of Earth? They are portrayed as the victims. Matt Damon is one of them in every sense. Race is not an issue. It's about class warfare. There are mostly latino people on Earth. This is not meant to villify them. It's meant to portray them as marginalised minorities because in our modern society this is who we see as the poor. They are the ones the movie is making a point about being marginalized, treated like second class citizens. Why is Matt Damon white? Because he's Matt Damon. They wanted a big fucking star.

Why are the people of Elysium white? It's not to tell us white people are better, it's to tell us white people are rich. Jodie Foster isn't some kind of hero. Fucking nonsense.

I was going to go to that, but ended up being Ron Weasely poor the day of and couldn't make it. If it had just been on a Friday instead of a Thursday. I'm also going to miss probably the last time Cinematic Titanic that will ever be close(because they are going to stop touring) to me too due to a family commitment.
