The Hobbit...again.

I really, really like this movie. As well as the LOTR films. I don't know what it is but I can just lose myself in these movies like I can't others and I find that enjoyable.

Oh and LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring. Just got a jones on for LOTR. Bet I watch the other two movies and start reading the books again soon. (which is ok, because I read those books at least once a year anyway.)

But as for the film...I really wish I owned the the extended versions of these. I only have normal versions. This movie does hold the honor of being the movie I saw the most times in the theater. You'd think it would be a SW film (I've seen ROTJ a total of 5 times in a theater and it holds the record for a SW flick), but nope...it is this one at 8 times.

And I hadn't read the books at this point either. I went out and bought FOTR after seeing the movie. I remember that after I finished FOTR I wanted to keep reading so bad that I went out and got in my car at like one in the morning, drove to Wal-Mart, bought a paper back of The Two Towers and returned home and started reading again.

When you say "Sherlock", you are of course talking about Elementary starring Lucy Liu, yes?

No..it is the BBC one. With Martin Freeman as Watson. It is just called Sherlock. Guy with the high cheekbones that'll be playing the bad guy in the next Trek movie.

Unless you know all that and are just saying that to get Beck's goad and if that's the case...uhhhhhhhh...then forget everything I just said.

I was all set to watch The Hobbit and then the pc which I have connected to my tv died. And it's the only blu ray player I got.

So no hobbit for me until I fix this :(

Goddamn, feller.  Once in the theater was enough for me.  And then fifty-something hundred times once it came out on DVD.

Well the reason for that was mainly my cousin got me two books of movie passes for Christmas. There wasn't much out there I wanted to see other then LOTRs. So I ended up seeing it that many times just because I could. I mean if I had got that present this year I could have ended up seeing like Skyfall 8 times. I did buy the DVD for FOTR the day it came out though, but I've only watched the movie at home a hand full of times.

I did see The Two Towers like three times in theater too, but ROTK only once.

Merla and I rewatch the Rings trilogy to death.  Except two-thirds of those times don't count because we totally skip a shitload of the Frodo x Sam material now.  Oh, man, the other night she had on ROTK and I was just yammering through the twenty different endings to that thing and cracking us the fuck up.  "Go back to your fuckin' tree and make me some fuckin' cookies, you fuckin elf!"  Ha ha... oh, well, guess that's not as funny if you're not there.  But I totally did that shit in a fucked-up accent an' everything.  Ah, good times.

If I was there I just would have been "but...they aren't elves. They are Hobbits. I bet they do make good cookies though." that or I would have talking about Clerks 2 where Randall said the logical ending to that movie was for Sam to saunter over and let Frodo brick right in his mouth.

Oh and I saw "This is 40" which was pretty good...too much Megan Fox in this movie for her not even being a main character. Also the major conflict of the film isn't even resolved. I guess maybe the idea is that in real life stuff like that doesn't fix it's self easily, but still...why even bring it up? It barely drove the story and there was plenty of other stuff that could keep the movie moving forward. There was a really good cast in this movie though...I mean apart from all the Megan Fox stuff.

Well after singlehandedly fixing my pc (God, I'm great), I finally watched the Hobbit.

I have to say I liked it far better than I thought I would. I was very skeptical of turning the Hobbit into a huge movie trilogy, but it turned out pretty well so far. There are still lots of scenes I would have cut out (like most scenes with Radagast the Poopstained), but overall it's a very entertaining movie. It also helps that New Zealand is as beautiful as ever and the music was excellent throughout the entire movie.

When part 2 comes out I might actually go watch it in the cinema

Except I was talking to Arwen... as Eowyn.  Because, you know, she never had a shot at Aragorn's Lonely Mountain or whatever.  It was literally the part right before she put her hair in a ponytail and removed her earrings.

Ha ha, poopstained.  But yeah, those were pretty much my thoughts, too.  Right down to going to the theater to see the next one.  Maybe.

Well that would have been nice to know ahead of time. I'm not there you know! I mean really.

But shit what does a girl have to do? She killed the Witch-king of Angmar. That's impressive. What did Arwen do but tell guys she was washing her hair for two thousand years before Aragorn showed up with a hard on for cougar tail. Eowyn should have been able to walk up to him and just go "You're my bitch now!" and he'd have to just say "Yes ma'am".

I saw Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.

Wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be a pretty damn entertaining film. Some very cool scenes. Also, it didn't have that horrible Lincoln ending the book had. Which is a big plus.

The Place Beyond the Pines | Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper in the same movie? Sign Faye up! Also, Eva Mendes, who is Faye's aunt in real life. Good stuff!

Oblivion | Tom Cruise! Science fiction! Kind of bland! Kind of derivative!

So it's basically Minority Report?

I watched History of Violence.  It was equally as boring as real history.

I feel bad for Keanu. He really is shit now. Nobody wants him in their movies anymore, so he has to do his own thing.

Just let him do his own thing, 'kay?
