I saw Babe: Pig in the City because Merla was curious about the sequel.  It was even more horrible than I could've imagined.  I laughed until I cried.

Oh, yeah, and Merla and I also saw some Godzilla vs Mothra thingy.  All this time, I never knew Mothra was a good guy.  I just thought he did a bunch of horrible moth-shit but, you know, at a giant-moth-sized scale.

Oh yeah...Mothra was really the only good girl (because Mothra is actually a chick) in that world. Most of the other good guy monsters were only good when they wanted to be, or it was more like a pissing match between two monsters. Mothra was always actively coming to man kinds rescue because she wanted to actually save man kind. Unless you to take her eggs, then she will bust a cap in your ass. I love me some Mothra. I even catch myself humming that twin song from time. "Moth-o-ra! HA! Moth-o-ra!" and it is never like the same Mothra twice either...it is always like a new a Mothra.

I met him once. I was out walking my dog when he approached me. This is how the conversation played out.

Keanu: That's a beautiful dog.

Me: Thanks, Keanu. You know, I really liked the Matr...

Keanu: I'd like to fuck it now.

Me: Excuse me?

Keanu: Your dog. I'd like to fuck your dog.

Me: ...

Keanu: Is it a boy dog or a girl dog?

Me: ...he's a boy.

Keanu: I would really, really like to fuck your dog. Name your price.

At that point I walked away. Shortly after, this picture was taken.

I never noticed that "haters gonna hate" bird at the bottom of that picture.  Has it always been there?

Unless you to take her eggs, then she will bust a cap in your ass.

lol, ha, totally didn't know she was chick though.  That's what I get for only sticking around during that three-way fight with Godzilla, Mothra and some other joker.  Merla thought Mothra was so cute.

So I'm guessing this is the 1992 one and not the 1964 one? That was the one with the evil Mothra, Battra? Or was this some other guy?

Mothra is one of those monster that got their own movie first and then appeared in a Godzilla movie in a Avengers like cross over. Rodan and King Ghidorah did the same thing.

Merla and I saw Paranorman.  I thought it was quite decent.  I don't think Merla felt the same way.

Watched this movie called Starbuck about a sperm donor with like 500 kids.  Pretty good movie.  A movie made in Montreal without any reference to hockey or any tragedies was a nice change of pace.

I saw Wreck it Ralph, which was quite dissapointing.
Not a lot wrong with it, pretty standard Disney fare, but it didn't get a single laugh out of me.

A friend of mine has a can of hard candies with Grave of the Fireflies on it.  I ask him if they're real candies or if it's just marbles.  He tells me he doesn't get that because he hasn't seen the movie.  Well if he had he would probably not want to keep that candy can in his kitchen which reminds me every time I see it of a child starving to death.

Good movie I never want to watch again because I can't get that shit out of my head.

I watched Die Hard 4 last night.  Better than I remember.  My criticisms of John McClean in it stand but there's still a good movie in there.

Ha ha, I will never see that movie.

I did finally see Green Lantern.  It was just a bad movie.  Not enough cool battles.  The villain was fugly and annoying as fuck.  The ring looked cheap.  Lantern was completely unlikeable but suffered little to no consequences for being a dick.  There were lots of characters that were useless and added nothing to the story.  The narrative was disjointed.  And I wanted a spicier, hotter Carol Ferris.  In fact, all of the superhero love interests of late tend to be very vanilla and bland.  Anyway, I'm certain there were other things, but you get the point.

Earlier today, I saw this movie called Millennium Dragon.  It wasn't terrible and I liked it more of less visually with the exception on how the people were drawn.  It's like someone was trying to draw them ugly.  And sometimes they looked like hobbits but they were just supposed to be teenagers.  Meh.  And then the "oni" turned out to be treehuggers which was a huge amount of disappoint.  I heard the English dub is horrific but I saw it in Japanese so I can't say.

And I saw Red Riding Hood.  Some of the acting was bad but it had the bones of a decent werewolf story.  I didn't get why these guys were so in love with the Amanda Seyfried (sp?) character.  She's a creepy-looking girl and there was nothing about her character that gave them any reason to fall all over her.  Hell, she was two-timing the one she was engaged to and he's all "it's cool" and then he's prepared to die to save her, knowing she's just gonna bone the other dude later.  And then that other dude get's stabbed by the Seyfriefweklvgm-whatever character and still comes to save her.  She could've castrated both of them and they'd still come to save her.  But I still liked it beaucoup more than Green Shit-lern.

And now I'm finishing up Stranger Than Fiction aka that movie where Emma Thompson's a writer going to kill off Will Ferrell and he hears her voice narrating in his head.  The clever parts were clever but there's not really a whole lot of those.  I like the beginning and end and there's parts where Emma Thompson imagines her own death and stuff like that but the rest is like writer-wank: this movie plays with its own dick in order to pass the time and thinks you won't notice.  Anyway, this would've been a very awesome short film at maybe half the length.  But the story doesn't sustain two hours.  You just want it to get to the fuckin' point.

I saw several movies in "Nothing of Value Was Lost" style.  This where I watch the first several minutes, anywhere from 10 to 22, and then forward to the equivilent at the end of the movie and see if anything of value was lost.

Half Light - Has Demi Moore not looking totally wrecked, which is a good thing.  Was predictable.  Her husband is a struggling novelist and she's a successful one.  And her best friend is sooooo helpful.  You know where this went.  They made her think she was crazy using a story about some dead guy and the ghost comes and helps her out.  I was able to gleam everything I needed to from the story w/ approx 40 minutes of viewing.  Not terrible.

Irresistible - w/ Susan Sarandon.  Apparently, it's another drive-the-successful-wife-crazy plot.  I can surely pick 'em.  Except here Susan Sarandon plays a children's illustrator and the woman terrorizing Susan Sarandon turns out to be her long-lost daughter given up for adoption.  At the end, we find out she's actually not.  Susan Sarandon was her best friend's mom and the friend died in a fire but had always promised to share everything she had.  So crazy lady decided her dead friend can also share her mother and proceeds to continue being crazy.  Meh.  Less 'not terrible' than Half Light.  Luckily, I spent significantly less time with this one.

Rapt - French movie.  Rich businessman gets kidnapped.  Here, I actually did miss something from my abbreviated viewing.  But I also didn't care enough to go back and see what it was.

Werewolf: The Beast Among Us - I wish this had been a better film because I wanted to like it more.  The things like the doctor training the werewolf, the love interest, the creepy Robert Downey Jr.-esque vampire with the knives that was part of the hunting party... that shit was kinda cool.  But this dragged somewhat and several of the main characters made me roll my eyes--the werewolf, the main hunter, the chick with the chest armored tailored for her tatas, werewolf's chesty-mcbusty mother.  No... they dragged a lot of this down.

I also saw a film called Amanda the other day that was just plain insulting.  This dumb guy's new bride comes out as a transwoman after the wedding so the entire thing goes into a spiel about acceptance and "love has no gender" blah blah (they repeat that to death) and dumb guy's like "nooOOOOoo" and is all miserable and shit so dramarama ensues until he decides to return to her and just accept the truth.  But it turns out she's not a transsexual.  She was testing him so they could collect on a trust from her uber-rich daddy because her mom and dad made a bet.  And so the girl's mother's all "she's really a girl" and he's all "i love dis person! love has no gen---what?  She's a woman!  SCORE," wipes his brow, and they celebrate at their $200M McMansion.  It is heavily implied the chick did all of this just to get to the money.  BLEH.

Oh, and Rapt is apparently based on this duder getting kidnapped.  It's cool to steal from real life.

Gamera: Guardian of the Universe- You know I really like Gamera. He is seen a poor man's Godzilla, but I love the fact that Gamera is almost always a good guy. A giant monster shows up and starts wrecking shit and he comes in and saves the day. He is like a giant mutant turtle superhero. Godzilla can go either way. He is like a anti-hero, so he might be a dick or he might save you. However, if does save you it is just because he was there and don't think it means anything. Gamera actively tries to save humans and I like that.

Gamera: Attack of the Legion-More of the same as above only this time with a giant bug, instead of giant birds.

Gamera: Revenge of Iris-This one isn't more of the same. This one focuses on a girl whose parents were killed in the first Gamera movie during the big fight and she blames Gamera. She then befriends a baby monster and raises it to fight Gamera. Of course Iris turns out to be evil and the girl sees the evil of her ways and Gamera saves her. Oh and Gamera fire blasts his own hand off to win the fight, which was pretty badass.

Wreck It Ralph.

This movie was so glorious. I wasn't super excited for it when I first heard about it but while I was watching it I was just thinking "Why wasn't I more excited to see this movie? It's everything I love wrapped into one thing.".

Amazing refereces, great comedy, awesome looking animation, cute touching story.  All good.

The Wizard of Oz.

The old one!  I don't know if I ever watched this movie as a kid.  A lot of it seemed familiar to me.  I didn't really like this movie for the most part.  Some of the visuals at the end were okay like the flying monkeys but all in all it looked like a shitty play.  I think when I see colour I have a certain expection of quality based on a certain era of movie and maybe because this was so old it kind of threw me off.  Ah, so much singing and dancing.  Why is Dorothy so old?  She acts like a child but is clearly an adult.  Very odd.  And I don't really care for the "it was all a dream" thing.  Maybe this was one of the first to do it though?  Are we supposed to believe Dorothy at the end when she says it's all real?  She was clearly hit in the head and was clearly just dreaming all of this.

Ha!  lol.  You know, it's been so long I never thought about how old Dorothy looks.  Can't unsee now.

I keep wanting to refer to "Wreck It Ralph" as "Wreck Her, Ralph."  Totally different movie.
