I saw The Dictator yesterday.
Not as funny as I hoped it was gonna be, but I still had a few good laughs

Yeeeeeeeeeeeah. That happened.

Anyway I saw Dark Shadows. I still don't know if I like this movie or hate it. It has a lot of good parts, and a lot of bad parts. The good parts were really good and the bad parts were really bad. I'm so confused. I'd have to go with bad...I mean when a werewolf shows up without any mention of werewolves it is just a little too Deus ex machina for me. But I will say that the house of Collinwood was amazing. I think I was more taken with the house then the movie.

Apparently there was a TV show. It might explain some of the bad parts. I did not watch it so I do not know.

Yeah I knew about the TV show. They use to show it on Sci-Fi during the early 90s. But given this movie is for the layman that might not have ever seen that show it is the writer's job to explain those sort of things. Which they didn't.

I didn't say it was acceptable, I said it might make some sense of it.

Well I looked it up and a lot of these stories do line up with the old show, but some don't. But since there are over 1200 episodes of Dark Shadows...I don't think I'll be getting to the bottom of what is or isn't right anytime soon.

Ha ha!  That improves the movie significantly if I look at it that way.  And that comment, "Get a proper job."  If the Powet-thing actually was your job, why would you go get a job at McDonald's because some a-hole on the internet thinks you need a "proper" one?  Getting paid for making vids > flipping burgers.  What a stupid asshat.
Ha.  Seriously.  I wonder how actors feel when they get bitched at for sucking.  "Hey I got $20 million for my last flick.  You get a real job!"

Yes it was. Ran on ABC daytime TV from 67 to 71. And Barnabas Collins didn't even show up till episode 202.

Well I said it wasn't as bad as Transformers of G.I.Joe. That's s compliment...from a certain point of view. But Battleship wanted to be Transformers almost as much as Megan Mullally wants to be Tina Fey.

Rama, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

Dark Shadows is one of my brother and sister-in-law's favorite shows while growing up...and I think they have the whole thing on VHS. I wish the 1991 show had panned out; it wasn't bad, but it never had a chance.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

So I saw "The Loved Ones" (aussie movie). I thought it was going to suck but then I realized the kinda movie it was going to be and I loved it. Gory as fuuuuuck. As a synopsis (no spoilers). Hot guy gets invited to prom by some loser girl. He says no (kindly) so bitch goes wild on his ass, literally. Think Hostel prom-version.

Also saw Yellow Brick Road( another horror movie) and it sucked. I did recognize the main blonde girl as Andy's foster sister in Chucky 2 tho.

FYI for anyone who cares but it's available on Netflix streaming.  Don't know how much of it is there though.

I saw most of this Fangoria Frightfest thing called Pig Hunt.  I basically saw the first thirty minutes and the last thirty minutes and nothing of value was lost in between.  It probably could've worked better as a short hour-long movie.

Saw Justice League: Doom.  It was decent but it also felt kinda rushed, like we're just going through the motions in order to fit it into its 77 min time frame.  I liked Claudia Black as Cheetah.  Vandal Savage... meh, I don't know why they bothered wasting time explaining his story.  I don't think it was needed.  The fact that it should've been Ra's al Ghul and he was easily supplanted should illustrate how little the master villain mattered in the course of things.  If someone actually required that explanation, then they were watching the wrong fuckin' movie.

I watched The Grey again and I've already said something about it in this thead. But I remember this second time on during his monologue in the beginning how it must have SUCKED to say all the shit (taking into account what happened in Liam Neeson's personal life- not trying to spoil here)

I saw The Horror of Dracula, The Curse of Frankenstein, The Mummy (Hammer version), The Gorgon, The Devil's Bride, and Madagascar 3.

One of these things is not like the others...one of these things just doesn't belong.

Saw Moonlight Kingdom last night.  Very good movie.  When Wes Anderson writes an adult they sound retarded.  When he writes children they sound witty and quirky.  Much better...

That one's on my to-do list. I like Wes Anderson's stuff. The Life Aquatic is one of my favorites.

Yeah, but they wait till the end to use it and it plays over the credits.

I actually really like the Madagascar movies, and 3 was better then 2.
