You did it to yourself.

I rewatched Batman: Dark Knight Returns Pt. 1 the other day. I do believe they pulled off what nobody thought they could...I can't wait for round two.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I still haven't seen that. I guess I should.

They did a good job, and it didn't even have Joker or Superman in it yet.

I saw V/H/S. It is a found footage anthology. I'm not really a fan of found footage movies (only one I really like was "The Last Exorcism") and I'm not really a fan of anthologies, but it was on TV and I didn't have anything better to watch. I missed the first segment called "Amateur Night" and I only saw the end of "Second Honeymoon", but I did see the rest of the movie from there.

The weakest of the ones I saw was "Tuesday the 17th" was just so...so bad. Saying the word fuck a hundred times in 15 mins and showing a lot of gore does not a good segment make. There wasn't even any bobbies in this one...just man ass.

"The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger" was kinda trippy, and I liked it. But it was real lite on explaining what was really going on. This one was kinda rushed and could have used a little more build up to it, and again you are not told what was really going on in the end. Just given hints that what you thought was happening wasn't happening, but something even more freaky was.

The best and thus last one was "10/31/98". Honestly they could have expanded this to a whole non-found footage movie and I would have watched it. Good foreshadowing, good build up, good SFX, good acting, and a story that held together pretty well considering how little time they had to tell it in.

Looper and Dredd. Looper was good, Dredd was better.

After reading a discussion several pages back about the latest Batman movie, someone said something that reminded me of something I've noticed in these three movies.

Batman Begins was filmed... wherever, Dark Knight was filmed in Chicago and kinda looks it, and DKR seems to have been filmed in New York.

Um wat?

I get that Nolan's trying to make his Batman feel a lot more realistic in the last two movies, but, as someone pointed out, I think the Gotham in Batman Begins WAS Gotham. It was dark and gritty and gothic, whereas the other two movies had too much of a lighter feel to them.

Plus, where the hell did those Monorails from the first movie go? They were nowhere to be found in the other two movies.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

Oh yes, and I watched the Avengers again. While I do think the movie's pretty good I don't think it's entirely worthy of the hype the second time around.

...so then you'd give it a 1 or a 2? Out of 5? Or 10? You gotta be more specific!

Yeah I really didn't care for the look of Gotham in the 2nd and 3rd films, especially since Batman Begins captured it's essence so well.

They were going for more of a "what if this was in a real city" vibe I suppose.

So I watched Darjeeling Unlimited and it was a funny movie. Would I watch it again? not really. I might be a little biased since I think India is the nastiest country on the planet (and maybe, why not, universe) so yeah. It did make me want to watch Wedding Crashers again tho. Owen Wilson is hilarious. It's kinda sad that he's always playing the positive guy part, while in real life he's having all those problems (suicide attempt, depression etc)

Indian food is people.

The Darjeeling Limited is a decent Wes Anderson effort. Have you seen Fantastic Mr. Fox and/or Moonrise Kingdom, Faye? Those are also good, along with everything else he directs.

I still haven't seen Moonrise Kingdom or Fantastic Mr Fox. I think I'm a bad person because of that.

But my favorite movie is The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

As for India...

Pros:
Girls with big eyes

Cons:
Music
Clothes
Movies
Sound of language
Religioin that everyone sucks the dick of but fuck it it's still a religion

Hell nah, girl. They animated that shit by hand. Stop-motion all the way, and it looks amazing.

I saw Hanna.  I know where this movie went wrong.  Where she's escaping and the camera does this seasick crap.  If you've seen this movie, you know what part I mean.  That's when I knew what started out as a good movie was gonna feel like a chore when it was finished.  Blech.  I liked her interactions with that family she meets.  But the then the movie was all "oops, this is a little too entertaining.  let's have a couple of douches try to kill her now!111"  Cate Blanchett was pretty good in it tho'.  Eric Bana was channeling too much Liam Neeson for my liking.

Not a bad movie, but it raised more questions then it answered (then again I never saw the Alien movies). So it left me a bit unsatisfied

Ha ha!  That improves the movie significantly if I look at it that way.  And that comment, "Get a proper job."  If the Powet-thing actually was your job, why would you go get a job at McDonald's because some a-hole on the internet thinks you need a "proper" one?  Getting paid for making vids > flipping burgers.  What a stupid asshat.

I saw Battleship.

Terrible movie if you want plot and characters. Great if you want to see shit blow up good. Only refreshing thing here was seeing an alien that wasn't completely unbeatable and human actually could fight back. Other then that it was shit, but some of it was a kind of "Hee hee...cool" shit.

I wasn't expecting much...in fact I was surprised I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. I loath it far less then Transformers or G.I. Joe, but it was still oh so so bad...but I'll admit I was like "Hell yeah!" when the Mighty Mo unloaded on that alien ship. But they spent the first half hour of the movie trying to make you like the characters so you'd actually be worried about them when the Aliens attacked...but I was really just "Hurry up Aliens and kill these completely unlikeable people please."

And how about those aliens? They were basically humans, but with spiky chins! Brilliant.
