I don't know. Maybe she would like it.

I can't figure out why it cost $150 million, though. Johnny's and Tim's salaries, perhaps? That's probably a little cynical, but...

Just speaking personally, the first half was mostly promising and fun, and then in the second half the whole fucking production just collapses in on itself. I was not at all satisfied with the resolution of the story, and there was even a Godawful sequel tease! Barf.

I'm unfamiliar with the original series, but apparently it was a soap opera that ran for five years and over 1200 episodes. Maybe the problem is that they tried to squeeze too many elements from the unwieldy source material into a mere two hours?

I don't know.

I think the breaking point for me was the overly long Alice Cooper cameo, where he's supposed to be portraying himself at that point in time, only they did a piss poor job of making him up and he looks old as shit, which is exactly what he is.

The ironic thing is that Barnabas Collins wasn't even in all of Dark Shadows.  He didn't show up till the show had been on air for almost a year. There was something like 200 episodes in the can before he even showed up.

From the previews, it looks like another installment of "Johnny Depp being a weird, quirky dork" and getting paid too much for doing so as usual.  You know, Johnny, you're rich and famous now.  Feel free to try something else in your next movie.

It does look like America might be choosing to turn on Depp, much like they did Megan Fox. This movie is doing really poorly in the box office. It isn't even close to making it's money back.

Godzilla: Final War.

I've seen it before, but it has a good plot. Human finally catch Godzilla and seal him away in the Arctic ice and then of course Aliens show up and take over all the other monsters. So of course they have to go let Godzilla out who then goes on a world ass kicking tour. There is this stupid subplot about a farmer, his grand son and Minizilla that could have been cut out. And the fights are short, but that is because the G-Man fights his entire rogues gallery with some absences *cough* Mechagodzilla. *Cough*. Oh well...still a good flick.

and

The Lost Boys

"My own brother a goddamn shit-sucking vampire! Oh you wait till Mom finds out!"

Hadn't seen this in a while and just broke it out as something to watch. One of the better Vampire flicks out there. A lot better then Twilight...or so I heard. The one time I tried to sit through Twilight I couldn't make it.

I think I made it about 20 mins. I got to the part where he is all "You have to see me in the sunlight" and then opens up his shirt and was all sparkly and I changed the channel. I've sat through to some bad, bad movies, but I couldn't make through this one.

Oh, on tv?  Merla had borrowed the dvd.  Now that you mention that part, I think I may have forwarded through that scene.

I felt it was important to watch Twilight so I could have an informed opinion and because it was an important part of popular culture.  It was probably worse than I expected it to be...

I thought it was better than I expected it to be, but maybe I just expected it to be far worse than you expected it to be good?

The Girl with the Dragon tattoo. I don't know why people think its good. It was so boring and the ending was predictable :-/ I kept looking at how much time it was left (too long)

It's not fair to say it's better since I haven't seen the remake but I liked the original.  I liked it enough to have no reason to see the remake and firmly believe there was no reason to remake it in the first place other than Daniel "Saddlebag Face" Craig needed a summer job.
