Sherlock Holmes was good. Not great, but not bad either. Robert Downey Jr. was, as always, remarkable and entertaining.

Sounds about right.  I'll wait for Merla to Netflix the DVD.

It had it's moments. I felt the relationship between Holmes and Watson was forced (which is why it came off a bit gay) and Watson's fiancee was a bad actress with bad writing for her role. If this movie was a one and done, they should have had Watson die (when you see it, you'll know the scene) rather than just surviving with minor scrapes. The whole supernatural theme also felt a bit off. Even when it was all explained by Holmes (like he always does) they had to push the supernatural shit.

Those were what I didn't like. I loved the Frenchman thug. The deduction parts, while sometimes extreme, were classic Holmes. Irene was wonderful and I hope if they do make a sequel she has a bigger part.

So I forgot to mention I watched mother fucking Avatar. 3D but not imax (a mistake, I think).

It was pretty fucking awesome, even though it has some cheesy ass shit in it. The world is pretty well developed, the creatures and plants and environment, and the human stuff, too. It is a movie with a message, but its so brutally obvious what the message is almost immediately, that it doesn't really bother you (well, at least not me). The 3D effects are really fucking cool, except when a foreground element is blurred, that is actually very irritating. Anyway, its a great cinema experience, even if you don't like the plot, you'll probably find some way to enjoy this film.

Hope you have a good TV, because without 3D, I'd be sad for you.

52" HD, but not a LCD...still rear projection. I figure my next upgrade in Home Theater will be an actual projection TV with Screen.

But I'm trying to recreate the movie theater experience of my childhood. 3D TVs won't help me do that. I might buy a 3D tv one day, but it'll never be in my home theater.

They had 3D DVDs. You get the glasses and everything.

If this movie was a one and done, they should have had Watson die (when you see it, you'll know the scene) rather than just surviving with minor scrapes.

It never would've happened.  Even if they killed him off, they would've brought him back for the inevitable two sequels/prequels that will no doubt get made.

I know. Still, having him die would have been creative and important to the story. Instead, it was just something that filled time to the conclusion.

The Lion in Winter...possibly my favorite Christmas movie. It's the 12th century, Henry II's wife, mistress, and sons all get together for the holidays and snipe at each other gloriously for two hours.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

The Shadowless Sword - a Korean flick that looked pretty enough, seemed to have everything going for it to make it a cool popcorn flick but was actually sadly a little boring.  Meh.

The December Boys - four Aussie orphans including Harry Potter go for a holiday on the coast and discover they are each other's family... or whatever.  Decent.

Everyone I know that went to see Avatar loved it, and it can be compared to a shit ton of other stories. Pocahontas and some other shit I forgot.

I admit the plot was, eh, but altogether, that was one bad ass movie going experiencing.

Some reviews called it "Dances With Aliens".  Since I haven't seen either movie, this means nothing to me.  Just sayin'.  :D

I watched Ποτέ Την Κυριακή a.k.a. Never On Sunday today.  (Yes, the same movie that prompted Muppet postage on FB.)  It's a 60's film set in Greece where some American wanna-be philosopher decides to use a popular local Greek hooker as a metaphor for the entire fall of Ancient Greece.  He sets out to "save" her from her own immortality and ignorance not realizing that she's happier and more real that way, thus he makes a fool of himself in the process.  It started out a bit slow but really picked up at the end.

Gah, you reminded me!  I saw this animated flick called "Felidae" yesterday on YouTube.  It's a 1994 German film about a cat investigating the grisly deaths of other cats in the neighborhood.  Nevermind the trauma of seeing a decapitated cat, a dead cat with her kittens pulled out, slit throats, and all of the other gross crap, the prize goes to a cat sex scene.  FTW.  And Merla walked into the room at the time and she's just watching it with me all "EWWWW!"  It was hilarious, however, in that after the deed the cat dude's all "So who are you anyway?"

DUDE! I have heard of this movie! I don't think I could watch it, though.

To be fair, I had to fast forward through the stupid dream sequences.  The rest of it was like a car wreck though, you just couldn't look away.

But the whole movie had itty bitty kitty titties.

Who, the blue aliens?

I don't mind a nice plump A or B cup, but when the girl looks like a 12-year old boy, I say she needs to get implants.

Like Porn Star Kitty... something I forget her last name, so I linked a NSFW pic. Basically, I had bigger boobs when I ws 5.

NSFW LINK DO NOT CLICK UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE SOMETHING NAUGHTY NSFW LINK

She definitely needs something done, or she could sell herself to pedos.
