Terminator: Salvation. Wasn't amazing, but wasn't too bad either. Ruined the twist right from the start, but lot of good action.

I liked Salvation, but Terminator and T2 are the only ones that will likely have a lasting impact on the film making art.

I thought the CG that you were talking about in that spoiler about that one movie that's not at all related was good, but not as good as you are saying it is.

Over the weekend I played my copy of the greatest movie of all times11!111, Under Siege, twice but was so sleepy I missed... [god forbid I spoil a 20 year old movie!]

...both times! Boo! So now I have to watch it again because it's like those parts never happened, which is wacky. But I seriously feel like the movie turned out different because I didn't get to see those things happen and my compulsion demands I see it.

I also saw Infernal Affairs. Started out slow but was totally worth it by the end. Now I just have to get around to seeing the Departed.

And I also watched this thing called Angel of Death, starring Zoe Bell, that I guess wasn't technically a movie since it's supposedly a bunch of shorts pieced together. It was kind of odd. Not bad but certainly not great either. Shit happens to her and it's like she's not human. Granted, I accepted all sorts of crap happening in Hercules and Xena--which I reference because she was the Xena stunt double and Lucy Lawless and Ted Raimi have small parts of the thing--but, hell, I also had to accept the existence of gods in those things. To be honest, it kinda started losing me at that point and never quite recovered respectable footing.

Oh, and I also watched Anna and the King with Jodie Foster, Chow Yun Fat, and a young Malfoy--er, Tom Felton. It was very decent. Jodie Foster sounds nice doing an accent. (Or should I say nicer not doing Clarice or something, where it sounds like her throat is threatening to close off.) And speaking of Felton, I saw an extra from the new HP movie and he's seems very personable in comparison to some of his co-stars. I hope he comes out in more stuff.

I thought it was thoroughly Quentin Tarentino. As in, if you like most of his films, you probably liked this one, too. I like most of his films and I liked this one, too.

At the time I didn't think it was brilliant, but looking back I liked it a lot more than I did. But really, the main thing I thought about coming out of Grindhouse was "MACHETE!"

I watched:

My Sassy Girl - Korean flick I bought years ago because Netflix only carried the shitty remake. Dusted it off and saw it again. It's a cute quirky film.

I tried Angels and Demons but I swear that movie nearly put me to sleep and it wasn't even 10 o'clock or ten minutes into the film. Which I find hilarious because I easily sat through four hours of...

Jean de Florette and Manon de Sources, which is a two-part French flick about the tragedy that ensues when a scheming old man (Yves Montand) and his conniving nephew (Daniel Auteuil) decide they want Gérard Depardieu's land. Excellent five star films. They have a slow pace to them but they were perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon.

I also saw about three minutes of Grease and renewed my hatred of stupid Danny Zuko. What a tool.

I always thought Grease was awesome, in its own special way.

I'm also starting to get really irritated with DVD releases with few special features.

Funny People had a gag reel and a commentary, and that was it for the standard release. I thought for sure they'd have some extra stand up. Really, I just wanted more Aubrey Plaza, and she was in the gag reel, but fuck man. WTF.

Say Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Meant to see this in the theater, but never got around to it. There really wasn't a lot of Half-Blood Prince in Half-Blood Prince though. =\

Talking about sheep fuckers, I watched Law Abiding Citizen and its awwwwesome. That it was filmed in Philly made it even more awesome. Except when the fugly mayor made a cameo. By god that dude is horrendous.

Oh yeah, I saw that, too. I forgot it in my previous list. Yeah, the lack of HBP really irked me. They had actually casted young Lily, James, and Snape but then either never filmed it or cut the parts out of the movie. Worse, Merla (who knows the books waaaay better than I do) says they actually had the balls to add shit in! Boo.

I gave Angels and Demons another shot. Not as terrible as I thought it'd be, but damn if the bad guy's plot relied on a LOT of fucking things going right. It seemed kinda ridiculous. And Tom Hanks' nose has grown. It's Nixonesque in this film!

I also saw this useless movie called "Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging" about a British teen trying to hook-up with some random boy at school she decides she likes. I imagine this could've been a great film somehow (it's from the director of Bend It Like Beckham and I really like that one), but it's ultimately terrible. The main characters--the girl who stars and her best friend--come off as the most irritating, spoiled little slags ever. The most irritating thing of all is that normally characters like that are brought down a peg and taught a valuable lesson, forced to live their lives for the better by the end of the film. Instead, those two brats get everything they wanted without changing one ounce! I was also bothered by the fact that as much as the girl wanted a boyfriend, two generally nice guys in the movie ended up liking her and she uses them and then literally shoves two of her friends at them and everybody's happy. Also, the guy she likes has a girlfriend, but making moves on him in front of her is supposed to be justified because the girl's a bitch or whatever. Boo.

Tomorrow me and Kary are heading to Patriot Place (massive mall attached to the football stadium) to watch the Sherlock Holmes movie. The cinema has some 'Luxe' level seating which is basically 21+ with bigger seats in a smaller theatre. Should be kickass. We don't know if we want to try the cinema's restaurant before the movie or just snag a quick and cheap '5 guys burgers and fries' burger. That shit is delicious, and there's free peanuts.

If I sit with either Tom Brady or Randy Moss in the theatre (I live like 5 miles from Randy) I will most likely start a new thread. The closest I've been to a celebrity recently was DJ Paulie D who me and Kary saw walking around the mall two days ago. Everyone was swarming on his tanned muscles and blown out guido hair. Shit was sooooooooo cash.

You know when I was waiting for someone to figure out how the Redbox worked I saw this title on there. The title defiantly caught the attention with the word thong and the British slang for making out in the title, but I decided quickly against renting a movie based on a title alone.
