Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

Wasn't as bad as I'd heard, but it was bad. At least there was more TF action in it than the first one. Mudflap and Skids didn't annoy me that much. Sam's parents should be shot. It started becoming unintelligible after Megatron's resurrection, though...where the hell did he go? Was it another instance of space bridging, like Jetfire unexpectedly and inexplicably did?

With some responsible rewriting, this could have been made less disjointed and been made into a far better movie. A shame.

The part where Starscream is throwing about the hatchlings or whatever they called them. That's on the moon. Where the Nemesis crashed. They even released a three-pack called 'Meeting at the Nemesis" based on that scene that for some reason includes Soundwave, who was not even in that scene. I don't remember if they ever explain that the Nemesis crashed or who was piloting it, but I want to say that's how Jetfire got there along with the other 'seekers.' BTW, I hate how they took the seeker name, and removed it from jets. I also hate that only Starscream of the original seekers is getting movie face time.

I had a lot to say about this flick, but I just can't even do it now. I just need my brain scrubbed clean and try to forget this cluster fuck of a film. At least I didn't pay to see it. Used a free Red Box rental coupon.

At the moment I'm watching Chinatown (Which I got for 4 bucks) as palate cleanser. Good movie, even if Roman Polanski is underage raping fuckhead.

I saw both Predators this weekend, half of Silence of the Lambs, part of Calendar Girls, this French flick called The Closet which was decent, and the god-awful craptacular Little Shop of Horrors musical film with Rick Moranis. Ugh.

Was it on Sunday, 'cause that's when I saw it. All of the other movies I saw were on DVDs (except Predator 2, that was a tape), but I saw SOTL on TV.

Today I saw another Tony Jaa film called Tom-Yum-Goong, otherwise known as "The Protector". I had seen Ong Bak a short while before (don't remember if I posted it) and I really loved it. Tony Jaa better not go and die anywhere else but in his ripe old age. I am annoyed that Western influences--Tarantino and Luc Besson--had this huge boner to fuck with these films with needless edits and different music. I can't see anyone who wants to see bone-crunching Thai boxing going "why couldn't RZA have scored this?" or something. Also the whole "Quentin Tarantino presents" thing at the beginning of The Protector was kinda douchey. I don't know how he can present shit when he seems to have had nothing to do with the making of this film. The US theatrical cut of both films also shortened fights. WHY? I watch these things to see asses being kicked, you don't cut that shit out! (I had to Netflix The Protector's bonus disc in order to see an uncut version of the film.) Also, getting to seeing Lateef Chowder and John Foo--who are going to be Eddy Gordo and Jin Kazama in the upcoming Tekken flick--fight was mighty nice. Those boys have talent and Tekken better exploit it. (But it probably won't. Ho-hum.)

Because they released it in America and most people in America don't know who Tony Jaa is, but do know who Quentin Tarantino is. So they give him a few bucks to slap his name on it, cause he likes it, and then the studio has a name they think they need to sell it to the American public. It's dumb, but it's Hollywood.

I know that but it doesn't make it any less stupid. He had NOTHING to do with the making of the movie. I can't see the audience for Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction dying to see this film either. In fact, I could see them getting bored since it takes 18 minutes to get the plot rolling. For the record, I didn't know who Tony Jaa was either until I saw Ong Bak. They didn't need a name to sell it, there's bone-crunching. Countless bone-crunching. There's Thai boxing, Capoeira, wushu, people getting shot, a dude flipping around people and snapping their arms, a tranny with a whip, that guy who fought brad pitt in troy, "i love u long time" girls, a boat slamming to a helicopter and blowing it up, and elephants!

Well it may not need a name to sell it, but that is the idea of a rational human being that actual saw the movie. The Movie execs that think they need a name on it more then likely don't fall into any of those categories.

I recently watched a mind fuck called "Solaris"

Its a Russian film from '72 (I think, off the top of my head).

Its about some scientists who go to this planet (Solaris) and there's this wicked cool ocean that they do a bunch of wicked cool special effects for (looks like lava and shit). Anywho, this one dude goes to the station to investigate this shit, and his mother fucking ex-wife who is dead because she injected herself with some deadly shit shows up out of nowhere. He even shoots her out of the station in a fucking rocket (because he is seriously WTFing at this point) and the chick somehow shows up again. Well, anyhow, turns out the mother fucking ocean with the bad ass lava looking effects is alive, and can project constructs made of neutrinos (my dad said that didn't make any sense, and I said FUCK YOU DAD! THIS IS SOLARIS YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT THIS YOU OLD GEEZER FUCK!) that recreate your deepest desires. This dude, well, for some reason, I guess because the chick was his wife or what the fuck ever, really desired to have her back. I can totally see why because she was fucking smoking and had some sweet ass nipples. I'd pinch them. Fuck yeah I'd pinch them so hard. Anyhow, this movie fucking blew my mind and I don't know what else to say about it because it was so fucking bad ass.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHaaa, I'm sure I posted about this while back, but I'll save you the time: I saw over half of the shit-version of that with George "Finger Bang" Clooney. UHUHUHUH, my liiiiife. I want it baaack.

I've been on a French kick for a while, so I've been slowly renting films directed by Francis Veber. I saw Les Compères, which is a decent flick. This couple's 16-year-old son goes missing, so the wife phones up two former lovers and tells each man that the boy is his son, prompting him to go look for the kid. I'd give it 4/5. Apparently, this was remade fifteen years later as something called "Father's Day", which I will not get near with a ten-foot pole. There was nothing about this film that could be fixed by a remake, even it was one done over 10 years ago. Also, I refuse to believe both Billy Crystal and Robin Williams managed to have intercourse with Nasassja Kinski without paying first.

I also saw Driving Lessons starring ~~Harry's red-headed friend Ron~~ Rupert Grint and ~~his mom, Molly Weasley~~ Julie Walters. Ron plays a weird kid from a religious family, the father seems to be a prest or vicar while the mother is a hypocrite that runs bible lessons in between having her son drive her to some youth pastor's home to get boned. Meanwhile, Ron gets a job working for an old, withering actress played by ~~his mom~~ Julie Walters who rocks his world and tells hilarious lies...
